I’ve had my heart broken more than I would care to, and I’m done — done with getting hurt, done with looking for a new man. It’s time for something new, something fresh. It’s the new year, and I’ve got one person on my mind — me.For the next three hundred sixty-five days, I’m swearing off men and tending to myself in a way I’m not sure I’ve ever done. It’s time to take care of me, and invest in my … of me, and invest in my own happiness. I’m done waiting.
So I’ve booked myself a stay at a luxurious Montana hot springs. I plan on spoiling myself. Because hell, after all I’ve been through, I deserve it.
But when I arrive at the resort, it doesn’t take long for me to question everything when I lay eyes on Porter Shipman, cowboy stud muffin extraordinaire . . .

Two Mermaid Magnets, one hot springs and one sexy as sin cowboy………WOW!!!
Well sign me up for a weekend at a hot spring resort and let me find a very handsome, sexy, smart, strong and chivalrous cowboy. I really enjoyed reading Her Winter Cowboy and found the story-line to be completely engaging and the characters were wonderful. Both Rosemary and Porter are in their thirties and have some experience.
Rosemary Wright has been divorced for a couple of years after finally getting out of a dysfunctional marriage, actually I was wondering if her ex was closeted gay as it read that way. She has tried to “get back on that horse” several times but has not clicked with anyone. So this coming year she is going to concentrate on herself and it starts with a weekend at a resort with a hot springs between Christmas and New Years. When she checks in and goes to her cabin what she does not expect is to walk in on a half naked man in her room…………..and that man to be quite literally sex-on-a-stick yummy.
Porter Shipman is a single man who loves to be outdoors and works with a guide for Rugged Pack Horse Expeditions in Montana. He loves his job but also has dreams of buying his own ranch and opening a therapeutic riding center. His boss gave each of his employees a weekend at the resort as a gift and everyone except Porter has used theirs. So he is forced into going even though he would rather be outside under the stars. But he is going to make the most of the weekend and enjoy himself. After he gets checked into his cabin and started stripping down to go to the hot springs pools the cabin door opens and in walks the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.
Thus starts the story of Rosemary and Porter. This weekend is going to prove to be very interesting on a number of different levels for each of them. Not the least is to prove to each of them that just because they had not feet a deep connection in previous relationships that they are not broken. It is really that they had not found the right person yet. But the question for them is whether this is just for one night, one weekend or maybe a lifetime.
Rosemary and Parker love story is a double booked room that evolves to a second chance in love. I loved how Rosemary was able to rationalize her feelings in order to decide what was best for her and realized that she deserved all of it. It is a story to warm your heart
A well written story that had me smiling as I read. Porter Shipman and Rosemary Wright meet when they both go to Paradise Hot Springs and both are booked into cabin 204. I enjoyed reading this story and seeing how they came together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rosemary is determined to focus on herself this year and has sworn off men. After an empty and failed marriage, enough blind dates, and being made to feel like it is all her fault by her family she is just done. A weekend away at a resort with hot springs where she can relax and not think about anything is what she needs.
Porter works hard as a horse wrangler and hasn’t used the gift of a weekend away to a hot springs resort by his boss. Unfortunately, his boss notices and insists he uses it because he works hard and deserves to have a relaxing weekend.
Porter and Rosemary meet in a funny unexpected way when they end up in the same cabin because of a double booking. Porter is a gentleman and confesses he would much rather camp out under the stars while Rosemary offers to share the bathroom facilities. But there is something stirring between the two of them and the both of them are slightly afraid to put their hearts at risk. When the passion is ignited, will the country man and city girl work successfully?
I can’t put into words how much I loved this story. Poppy has the ability to paint the perfect picture of realistic love at first sight. Both characters are guarded but so kind and together you can literally feel the love radiating off the page, this itself made my heart sigh contentedly and made me fall in love with Poppy’s gift at storytelling. I look forward to seeing what Poppy creates in the future and definitely will go back and read this heavenly romance.

This story was fun. I was upset for Rosemary by her family and their thoughts on her but was glad to see her take time for herself. Of course, what you plan on doing and what fate has in store is different. Neither Porter or Rosemary were looking for each other but they can’t explain this pull they have and they give in. It’s a sweet yet sexy story about finding what you need if it wasn’t necessarily what you wanted.

Rosemary says she’s done with me for the next year. So what does this city girl find when she’s not looking? In the great state of Montana she stumbles upon her very own cowboy by the name of Porter. The insta-love was nice, but a bit more unrealistic than even I’m used to in stories. Both characters were nice and I enjoyed the story. I did however feel like a little more could have been done to expand their tale.
