Thou shalt not sleep with thy friend’s sister… planned than just hanging with her bestie—it’s also the perfect time to ditch her virgin status and have a little fun. But finding the perfect guy is proving harder than it should.
Blake knows trying to dissuade Kristen from the plan is useless. So he does the next best thing: he volunteers to be her wingman. But helping her pick ‘the one’ might be as challenging as trying not to claim her for himself.

I really enjoyed this story and of course getting to know Blake and Kristen. The characters were great along with their circle of friends, which I’m hoping will mean more upcoming stories for us to read. This book was definitely more than just the story itself. We learned about Blake and his backstory, which was definitely sad but I also liked how he overcame that and chose a different path for his life, which he seems to be enjoying. I thought the way he handled Kristen was as it should have been and I was totally laughing with the texting between him and James, too funny. I also liked that he ended up making things right and putting things into place that were exactly as they should be. I have to admit I do have a question or two from reading this book, but I’m hopeful that I’ll find out more in the next book. Great story!
What happens in Seattle …
Kristen is up from Las Vegas to visit her hometown when she meets Blake at a party. Despite their obvious chemistry, she’s just looking for a one night stand and he’s just trying to keep his hands off his friend’s little sister as long he can, out of respect for the Bro Code.
There aren’t a lot of surprises in this book – it goes pretty much according to the standard for this trope – but it’s still very well-written with engaging characters, believable emotional connection, and enough steam to satisfy readers everywhere. Both MC demonstrate significant personal growth over the course of the book as they begin to figure out what they want out of life, and it all makes for a very sweet, lovely story that I very much enjoyed reading. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Her Wingman is the first in Shelli Stevens’ Bro Code series. Blake Avery stops by a friend’s birthday party to give him his regards. No longer much of a partier, he’s counting the minutes until he can politely make his excuses and head home. He’s surprised when a cute woman with a great laugh catches his eye, and even more surprised when she seems to want to get to know him better.
Kristen Watson’s celebrating her graduation by visiting her old hometown, and she plans to use the week to rid herself of her now pesky V-card. Her BFF Tori’s got her back, and is determined to help her find the right candidate for the job. Sparks fly when Kristen meets Blake at a friend’s party. He’s captivated by her quick laugh and confidence, and would love to get to know her better.
That plan comes to a screeching halt when they discover that Kristen is Blake’s good friend’s baby sister. As much as Kristen appeals to him, Blake can’t break the bro code–and getting it on with a friend’s sister is a flagrant violation. That said, he makes a promise to take over for Tori and help Kristen find the right guy…while trying to convince himself that he isn’t that guy.
Ms Stevens does a terrific job with this best friend’s little sister/V-card story. Kristen and Blake’s chemistry is undeniable and their growing friendship is also a pleasure to watch develop. They manage to be engaging, vulnerable, and all too real, which makes their story a page-turner. Ms Stevens also provides an excellent supporting cast of family and friends, and I can’t wait to read the next in this series!
You can’t go wrong with Shelli Stevens and she’s written a fantastic story here. So excited about this series.
