I’m not a hero. I’m a bad dude who’s done bad things. And the sooner she understands that, the better off we’ll be.I’ve just got out of prison and I’m running from my MC, so my step-sister’s best friend has agreed to drive me across the country.Summer’s my ride. That’s all. But she captivates me, and I don’t have a damn clue why. She’s a distraction I can’t afford. Is it because I’ve been told … afford.
Is it because I’ve been told she’s forbidden?
Is it because she’s preppy and freakin’ beautiful, so not a part of my world?
With every mile of our trip, every spark of connection, she seems to inch closer to me. The temptation is too much to resist.
But she has no idea just how dangerous life would be with me. I broke club rules. I betrayed my brothers to save a woman’s life. If the Red Dragons find us we’ll be in trouble. And if I give into my desires, she’ll be in deeper than she realises…
This is the first in the Red Dragon MC series featuring an addictive alpha biker. Guaranteed HEA, no cliffhangers and no cheating. Fans of Kristen Ashley, Joanna Wylde and Madeline Sheehan will fall in love.

“He had a certain dominance to him, edged with a bad-boy sex appeal, and would no doubt give me the ride of my life if I asked him to.”
This was my first time to read Heather Van Fleet. Of course, it was my MC Romance addiction that caused me to give her a try. I enjoyed the story, though I must say the 2nd half moved much faster than the first. But don’t mind me, I was just ready to get out of the car and onto a motorcycle. I know that it was necessary for the author to lay some groundwork for the series going forward.
He’s a bad boy and she’s a good girl. But that doesn’t stop them from being attracted to each other. The chemistry is there from the beginning. He’s an alpha asshole in the beginning. But I guess that’s understandable since he just got out of prison. I’m sure I’d be cranky too. Especially after learning how he ended up there.
Personally, I think she was crazy to agree to drive him. It makes good reading though, that’s why I love reading fiction. The characters do things I wouldn’t be brave enough to try. She’s funny and quirky and holds her own with him. His rudeness doesn’t get to her and she just dishes it back to him. I was especially amused by her making him listen to her choice of music on the radio.
As the story evolved the details regarding secrets and betrayals were revealed and shit got serious. The elements that I enjoy in a motorcycle club romance started emerging and I became more invested at the end. Though it’s not a cliffhanger, there are still unanswered questions that the following installments will address.
HOLY HADES is what I was saying after reading the first few chapters in this book. I love a good romance and I love an MC romance and this was that and so much more. I am so glad I was asked to read this story because I have a new favorite author Heather you rocked my world and then some!
In this story we meet Hawk and Summer. Hawk is just getting out of prison for something he should not have gone to prison for but you know the brotherhood code and now that he is being released he is going to need a ride and a place to stay far away from the Dragons MC who want to hurt him for what he did.
That is when he meets Summer his step sisters best friend. She has agreed to drive him across country for her best friend and it is there that these two have one hell of a ride and shiz starts to get real and Hawk will do everything he can to keep him and Summer safe from his enemies!
After finding himself on the wrong side of the law and spending the last few years in prison for it, Niyol is ready to rid himself of his old life and start new. But the only way that can happen is to get far away from his old MC club and his traitorous father. His sister does him a solid and finds him a ride to California… but nothing could have prepared him for who he finds waiting behind the wheel.
Summer is his complete opposite, and has forbidden written all over her… his head is telling him this is a bad idea, but his heart is singing a different tune.
Her Wild Ride is a sultry and dramatic little page-turner that captured my attention from page one, and held it intently until the last. These two were about as opposite as two people could be, but somewhere along their cross country adventure they started to realize that they had some serious chemistry. Neither of them were in a good place to start a relationship, let along consider love, but after spending all that time traveling with one another, they had no choice but to let it in. In addition to dodging the feelings roaming around between them, these two were also having to dodge Niyol’s dangerous past, it was two steps behind them and gaining ground quickly. I loved these characters Niyol tried to maintain a alpha broody air, but in secret he was a soft-hearted man, which made him very hard to resist. I really enjoyed this one, it’s well crafted words were not only satisfying, but good for the heart, highly recommend.
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Niyol has just got out of prison and is on the run from his outlaw mc. His stepsister’s best friend Summer is his ride. The two of them hit it off and the sparks fly. I enjoy a good mc read and this one was great. I hope there will be more in this series.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
Her Wild Ride was a good read with well-developed characters and lots of action. Could Summer and Niyol be any more different? The chatty girl, doctor’s daughter suffered from losing her mother at birth and from an absentee father but otherwise, life hasn’t been too hard. The biker legacy hasn’t known much nice and no normal in his entire life. Niyol’s first reaction to Summer is a “she’s the one” type of moment yet you’d never know it as their story starts.
The recently released ex-con and the sweet, middle school teacher are driving from the midwest to San Diego together. The fact that Summer ever breaks through Niyol’s gruff exterior is quite a feat. He’s broody, quiet, unpleasant. She’s persistent and soon has his icy exterior melting. The trip is rife with obstacles which give the two more time and more reasons to get to know each other.
The return to their “normal” lives becomes another, very serious, obstacle. Can these two ever make their relationship work given their vastly different lives.
Oddly, the situation that I think most good girls would find insurmountable actually convinces Summer she’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep her man. I’ll admit, I struggled a bit with that plot twist.
The book was enjoyable the characters interesting but the action bordered on over-the-top. I still enjoyed the book though.
Not your typical gritty mc book. My firstbook by this author and the blurb drew me in . I liked both the main characters . The had some romance with a touch of angst between the plot. I highly recommend this new author . I will be on the lookout for more of her books in the future.
Wow-Wow-Wow! My first MC Romance and I loved it! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Heather Van Fleet nailed this one! Summer and Niyol couldn’t be more different but that didn’t keep them from steaming-up the windows on their cross-country road trip. I felt the connection between them even as their differences contrasted drastically in the story. The further I got into the book, the more I realized they’re not that different. Summer had no problem being a badass when she needed to be and Niyol was able to show some vulnerability when he let his guard down. But it’s still an awesome read if you’re looking for opposites attract romance.
Her Wild Ride is hot and sexy with the perfect amount of suspense. It certainly lives up to its name!

Her Wild Ride by Heather Van Fleet is such a fun read and has the perfect title. From the beginning where Summer teases the heck out of Nyliol to the suspense of dealing with the Red Dragons MC I was entertained.
Betrayal is a hard pill to swallow especially when it’s against his MC family. Nyliol is now starting new in California.
Summer is ready for some adventure and to get away from it all for a bit. Her best-friends stepbrother, Nyliol, needs a ride to California so she agrees to take him. She has her route mapped out, every road, every store and landmark to the minute. Even a little stay at her grandparents, whom I dearly love. Little does she know that life does not always follow a schedule. Car trouble and running from Nyliol’s past, that is coming for revenge, is not what Summer expected for a quiet road trip to clear her mind.
From page one the banter between Nyliol and Summer will have you laughing out loud. They don’t even speak to each other for the first a couple of pages. Summer is a feisty elementary school teacher that can handle herself with Nyliol or so she thinks. Nyliol is the broody mc character that just wants to get from point a to point b quietly, not with a concert going on in the car he is in.
The MC portion will have you on the edge of your seat. It will open up Nyliol’s past. Some of the past will have you pissed for Nyliol.
Overall this is a good MC read that has a mixture of rom-com and suspense.
iyol “Hawk” Lattimore was born and raised up in the Red Dragons MC with his father as the club President. He didn’t care for the direction the club was handling business and because of his ideas he bumped heads with his father. His insubordination was the reason he was set-up to take the rap for shady business activity within the club. He ended doing a two year stint in prison as punishment by his father. After being released from prison he decided to leave his hometown and start a new life outside of the Red Dragon MC.
Summer is an middle school English teacher and cheerleaders coach, who was jilted by her fiancé and best friend with Niyol’s stepsister. Summer agreed to drive Niyol to San Diego to his new destination and a quick getaway 5 days for a break in scenery for the summer.
Niyol and Summer had complete opposite lifestyle but the attraction between the two was extremely intense immediately. Summer is extrovert and loves to talk, Niyol is an introvert and analysis his surroundings.
This story is filled with action, adventure, betrayal and family secrets revealed. I enjoyed Niyol and Summer story and believe this is a great start to an interesting series. I’m anticipating reading about others in this quaint club.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Review Copy via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Promising start to a new series. It took me awhile to warm up to Ny but he won me over in the end. Loved the interplay and tension between he and Summer.
Looking forward to reading more about The Red Dragons. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
I absolutely loved the Reckless Hearts series by this author and couldn’t wait to dive into this new series even though I’m not a big fan of MC sagas so it says something that I found this read kept me on the edge of my seat and up all hours of the night. Niyol is not your typical MC gang/brotherhood kind of guy and pairing him up with Summer who is as different from him as you can get kept the plot intriguing and interesting. I always enjoy when there are underlying stories regarding the secondary characters so I’m hoping that we get more from this group–there are definitely some unanswered questions. Will be excitedly waiting to see what Heather has in store for us in the future. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Road Trip
Summer is a good girl who teaches school and is a cheerleading coach so she figures it’s time for a break and volunteers to take her best friend’s step brother to California after he is released from prison. Niyol has just turned on his father who happens to be the Prez of the Red Dragons MC, ended up in prison for a two year stint and now wants to break away. Being in such close proximity how can two opposites not attract? Who is trying to fight it more? Summer or Niyol? And what happens when rogues are on their tail ready to take Niyol out for his ratting on a club member?
I’m looking forward as to what comes next for Summer and Niyol and the rest of the Red Dragons MC.
A book that definitely lives up to it’s title!! From the opening paragraph the reader is locked in to an emotional cross country journey filled with tension, a bad ass hero and the school teacher who tames him. Summer and Niyol might be from two very different worlds but their chemistry was off the charts. This is the perfect beginning to a series that I hope has a lot more books. A must read!!
3.75 stars–HER WILD RIDE is the first instalment in Heather Van Fleet’s contemporary, adult RED DRAGON MC erotic, romance series focusing on the members of the Red Dragon MC. This is twenty-four year old, elementary school teacher Summer Parks, and twenty-seven year old, MC member Niyol ‘Hawk’ Lattimore’s story line.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told for dual first person perspectives (Niyol and Summer) HER WILD RIDE follows in the aftermath of Niyol Lattimore’s release from prison for a crime he did not commit. A letter warning him never to return to his beloved Red Dragon MC meant Niyol needed a quick escape from the people and Club he loved. Enter Summer Parks, Niyol’s step-sister Emily’s best friend, and the woman with whom Niyol will fall in love. What ensues is the cross-country journey from Illinois to California, between Niyol and Summer, and the potential fall-out as Niyol’s past comes seeking revenge using Summer as a pawn in the process.
Niyol Lattimore despises the man that set him up, and took him down but vengeance came with a cost, a cost that forced Niyol on the run. Never expecting to fall for the feisty beauty, Niyol struggles between head and heart knowing his past is all but a step behind as rogue bikers have been sent to destroy his life. Summer Parks needs a little R&R since finding her fiancé in the arms of another woman. Driving Niyol to the West Coast gave Summer an opportunity to make new friends but Niyol wants nothing to do with the talkative and definitely out of his league elementary school teacher.
The relationship between Niyol and Summer begins as an arrangement between Summer and Niyol’s sister Emily. Summer needs a break from her life back home, and Niyol is desperate to get out of town in spite of loving the MC life. Forced together on the road, it’s fate and circumstance that draws our couple together. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to a large and colorful ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Niyol’s step-mother Lisa, step-sister Emily, and his father Charles Lattimore ; MC members Flick, Slade, and Archer; Niyol’s former girlfriend Maya; and Summer’s grandparents Peaches and Paul.
HER WILD RIDE is a story of betrayal, vengeance, family and love. The premise is engaging and intriguing; the characters are energetic and broken; the romance is intense and hot. HER WILD RIDE is not as gritty or raw as some other MC story lines as most of the story focused on Niyol and Summer’s cross-country journey
**I received a copy of Her Wild Ride from Net Galley and Bookouture in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are mine and not solicited in any way.**
Her Wild Ride: Red Dragons MC Series by Heather Van Fleet is her first in what I hope is a ongoing series. This is Niyol and Summer’s story of new beginnings and a future together. Summer will have to learn the ways of being a Biker’s Old Lady as well a Niyol finding his way after spending two years in prison. Somehow they’ll both have to mesh his re-entry into the Red Dragons after being in prison for a crime that he was set up by his dad and Summer is a middle school teacher and cheer coach wants the big house, kids and picket fence, can they mesh both together?
Niyol has just been released from prison and has planned a road trip from Chicago to California but when his sister Emily sets him up with her best friend Summer they both decide to see if they won’t kill each other (She does like Country music) and he wants to smoke (” not even if that’s the last cigarette on earth”). She fight for him when some preppy boys decide to rile up Nye and they’ll survive a tornado in Colorado. But Niyol’s Princess will be there for him when rogues try to end his life twice and maybe they’ll have a happy ever a
I need more of Summer and Niyol. On the run after a stint in prison from an MC that doesn’t want him back, Niyol has no choice but to road trip with a waitress named summer to San Diego. Summer jumped at the chance to help her best friend out by getting him there but her own reason to go are her own. These two learn a lot about each and Niyol faces a ghost from the past. I’m really looking forward to seeing what is next from this series. This is my first Heather Van Fleet book and I’m excited to read more
I loved this!! Great characters, lots of adventure, and loved the build up in their relationship!! The narrators brought the story to life!!
I hadn’t read a biker book in a while and while this was a little different in that Nyoil was a little more emotional than I expect from a biker I did enjoy, yes sometimes I wanted to knock him out with his back and forth but he finally got a clue. Then we have Summer, while I liked her to a point I wished she had stopped throwing herself at him, once ok but come on!!, he kept you on a see-saw, especially after having what she dealt with her ex fiance she should have had a little more respect for herself..Yes it sounds like i disliked the story and these two characters but that would be the wrong conclusion because I actually did enjoy and will definitely read the next installment.
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinion
