4 star review Her Wild Coast Outlaw (Storm Harbor #1) by Dakota Davies
Audio Review:
Dakota Davies is a new author to me as was the narrator Robert Hatchet. . I found this book to be entertaining. It is full of danger and suspense and had me on the edge of my seat at times.
Hunter is working undercover and the very last thing he needs is the complication that is Petra. She is the niece of the man he is investigation and the attraction and chemistry that lies between them could lead to people dying.
I liked the characters, although they did appear to focus a little too much on the sexual attraction between them. The story was strong and kept me interest and the narrator did a good job of narrating the characters in a variety of voices and brought the story to life for me.
Iloved it! So hot! A lot of sex. And just enough storyline. Very entertaining read. The narrator is great. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This book is soo steamy that my kobo was on fire! I loved that although you can foresee the main story (the romance), the side events are unpredictable. I adored the ending, because I’m a sucker for happily ever after (and Europe). I totally recommend this book!
This is well-written book in a standalone steamy romantic story in the Wild Heart Series which is a small town military romance. The characters are very well-developed and have chemistry. The story centers on a private security company and has intrigue, adventure, and surpriise and it ends with a HEA. Good Read

This was my first Dakota Davies’s book, and won’t be my last. Her Wild Coast Outlaw is the first book in the Storm Harbor Series, a Small Town Military Romance. Hunter and Petra’s story is sexy, fast-paced, action packed, and suspenseful. They share an instant attraction, and a sizzling chemistry. Robert Hatchet is a new narrator to me. He has a great voice, pleasant to listen to, and easy to understand. I like his female voice. I enjoyed it! Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Her Wild Coast Haven. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Review of the audiobook:
Phew, what a fantastic story. Hunter and Petra’s chemistry is beyond sizzling, and the story arc that forms the backdrop to the romance was just the right amount of suspensefully tense. Petra’s sweet naïveté is in perfect contrast to Hunter’s world weary darkness; she brings him light, he gives her strength.
As always, Robert Hatchet does a phenomenal job of giving voices to these two completely different characters.
I received a arc and volunteer to review this audiobook. Another fantastic book from a great writer. All of her books are entertaining and very sexy. I have loved everything Dakota has written so far and she is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend this audiobook. Narrator did a fantastic job also. The book is fantastic also.
Great Story & Narration Enjoyable, Entertaining & Spicy
Her Wild Coast Outlaw: A Contemporary Small Town Romance
Written by Dakota Davies
Narrated by Robert Hatchet
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. This is my first novel written by Dakota Davies and will not be my last. I enjoyed her descriptive writing style giving an inside view of everything that is going on in her story. The characters are likable, well developed and easy to relate to. I adored both leads, Petra and Hunter, there was chemistry between them from the minute they met. She is on summer break from college and is visiting her Uncle Gary in Alaska who is gave her a job working at the dock’s mercantile. The best part of the job is making deliveries to those who are moored there. She is more than happy to bring a delivery to one of the newest arrivals, a mystery man. Hunter is staying at Storm Harbor, he is a former Navy Seal and there to do a job, to investigate Gary Stanislaw and is misappropriation of funds he borrowed. Hunter is doing it for friend, he plans on sailing up the Northwest Passage when the investigation is over. When Petra delivers a package to his boat there is instant attraction and they plan on seeing each other again. When Hunter finds out how deep Gary is in trouble he has to tell Petri and bring her to safety. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is plotted out nicely and there is never a dull moment. There is an impressive amount of story in this 3.5 hour book, it is fast paced with plenty of drama, action, twists and turns, some thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt ones and some hot romance. Dakota Davies, thank you for this great story!
I listened to the audiobook version, Robert Hatchet is a terrific narrator and voice artist. He did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life giving each their own voice and personality. He sets the perfect tone for the story and captures the characters emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.
AUDIOBOOK
This author is new to me , so when given the opportunity to listen to this story, I did not hesitate to give her a try.
The story centers around Hunter Donahue , and Petra.
Hunter is a Black Ops operative who on occasion, works for a friend’s security company.
Petra is in town for the summer, not realizing that her uncle is not whom she thinks he is.
Fate brings Hunter and Petra together, and that only brings danger. Will a relationship be doomed from the start? Will Petra be put in danger? If so, will either of them survive?
Needless to say, the plot is filled with danger, bad guys, hunky good ones, and of course, romance.
This audiobook was a good start for the series and for me, a good introduction to the author.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Steamy Undercover Man
Hunter’s undercover work leads him to Petra. The two are explosive as Hunter works to solve the mystery of what Petra’s uncle is up to before anything bad happens. I had the privilege of the audiobook to accompany my reading and the narrator has a smooth as silk voice that is delightful to listen to.
UPDATED 3/2021:
So, I have to say, the audio for this is just great. Robert Hatchet leads the way and I love that he often has a hint of humor in his voice. It comes across like a sexy swagger that you just want to gobble up!
Story: 4 stars
Narration: 4 stars
An amazing well written romance. This engaging storyline had humor, mystery, and danger along with some family drama. It kept me addicted page after page. The characters definitely have an incredible and exciting chemistry while being well developed and interesting. A great group of secondary characters keeping me interested as a incredible start to an exciting series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC. Narration is wonderfully done with perfect changes in pitch and Expressions for the story details and characters.
what a wonderful read. I fell in love with Hunter lol the author done an amazing job bringing them together.
This was my first book by Dakota Davies. It had elements of romantic suspense, an age gap, and about three back to back chapters of steamy scenes. I would have liked to give it 3.5 stars. If I could have changed something about the book I would have made Petra (or both Petra and Hunter) a bit older since Petra came across as young and dependent. I would also have preferred to either split up or trim the racy scenes so that it didn’t end up as back to back to back chapters. It gave me the feeling of transitioning through different genres in phases (contemporary, erotic, then romantic suspense) rather than balancing them throughout the book.
I listened to the audiobook and Robert Hatchet did a fantastic job. I prefer dual narrators for dual points of view, but for a single narrator he did a fabulous job, not just in differentiating the male/female dialogue, but also in changing his voice for entire chapters. I was easily able to tell if the chapter was from Hunter or Petra’s perspective and I liked both his male and female voices. It was the first book I’ve listened to by him, but I would listen again. The audiobook added to the story.
I was given a copy of the audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.
