Simply delicious, enthralling and wonderful as only Scarlett Scott can write with her magical pen!
He had rescued her “Lady” from the roses bushes, his concerns for her cries… Could he be anymore tempting there in the dark in his banyon holding her precious pug?
Sparks fly, oh yes for these two who are both a little broken from recent bad relationships. Deeply wounded but the attraction is there.
“She thought him the most beautiful man she had ever beheld. Not just because of the way he made her feel–wanted, delicate, beautiful, desired. There was some natural spark between them, pulsing in the air, which she could not deny. Shimmering and glowing and filling her with fire.”
A powerful, heart-rending story that pulled my emotions out and fulfilled my readers desires. Another winning story that I will not soon forget!
I loved this book so very much! This is such an addictive series! Romantic, page turner, such an enjoyable story, amazing characters, always a strong heroine and a handsome alpha!!
Lady Hyacinth is a widow living in London, wanting to experience life, after a horrible marriage. Viscount Tom owns the house next to Hyacinth. Tom is recovering from a broken heart.
One fateful night they meet in her garden, due to an adventurous Pug=) I really have to say, I just loved everything about this book, the narrative, the main characters!! They are two people who have known heatache, hers is alot more painful!
Such an enjoyable, lovely book, I know I will be re-reading this one.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest opinion.
Tom redeems himself and his story is amazing. I loved every second of this book. These two have both been broken but find something so perfect with each other that it leads to Hyacinth running scared. Tom and Hyacinth are so perfect together, this book couldn’t get any better. Hyacinth is no wicked widow, she is a woman who needs kindness and love. My favorite book in the series.
Hyacinth finally has her freedom after a loveless marriage. She plans on doing all of the things her husband forbid her from doing during her marriage and she is NOT going to let her fussy neighbor get in her way.
Tom has just gotten his heart broken and wants nothing more than to get on with his life and have nothing to do with love, ever again. When he gets a new neighbor that seems to be a merry widow having the time of her life, he knows he wants nothing to do with her….that is until he meets her.
While Tom wants nothing to do with love, he isn’t against having an affair with his new neighbor. This is fine with Hyacinth, as she never plans to marry again. But what happens with both of their hearts become engaged, will they change their minds?
I’m so glad that Tom got his HEA!! I just adored Hyacinth and she was perfect for him. I loved watching these two banter back and forth and watch their feeling turn from one of just physical attraction to that of true love.
This was a great addition to the Wicked Husbands series! Fingers are crossed that there is another book to this series as there are two characters that I would love to see come together!!
Hyacinth and Tom’s story is beautifully written by Scarlett Scott. Both Hyacinth and Tom have survived difficult relationships. Hyacinth was in an abusive marriage and Tom was rejected by the women that he loved. Both characters really came to live. You felt like you really know them and live in their world from Lady, Hyacinth’s pug to the servants to friends Lottie and Brandon. Even Tom’s Grandmére, the dragon, is well realized. You laugh, cry, and cheer Tom and Hyacinth on to their HEA. The love scenes are well done and very hot. You feel the attraction between the two crackle off the page. An absolutely delightful read and definitely a 5 star read. Her Virtuous Viscount is an example of why I love Scarlett Scott’s writing so much.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
After what Nell did to Tom in Her Missing Marquess I was so hoping for a story for him. Once again this author did not disappoint. Brokenhearted over his lost love, Tom never wanted to feel such pain again. Hyacinth was much abused by her now dead husband and was never going to let anyone treat her badly again. Both didn’t know that all they needed was each other. The premise of how they got together was delightful with a little help from another girl named Adelaide, a mischievous pup. You will love the growth of both Tom and Hyacinth’s characters as they discover what true love is. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Hyacinth and Tom are both damaged by their past experiences. Hyacinth from an horrendous marriage and Tom from a faithless flirt. Hyacinth is determined to enjoy her life now she is free to do so. Lottie her friend is encouraging her to embrace her new life. Tom lives next door and his friend, Brandon is urging him to move on. When Tom and Hyacinth meet, they are instantly attracted to each. However, could it develop into anything more meaningful, can Tom and Hyacinth trust another person again? This was an engaging read with very likeable characters, as well as an adorable pug and an interfering grandmother. I’m looking forward to reading more about Lottie and Brandon.
Melt my heart good! When Tom first appeared in “Her Missing Marquess” I was rooting for him to get his own happily ever after and man did this deliver. I think I fell in love with him on page 5. He has to be one of my favorite all time lead males in a book. This story is so heartfelt and beautifully written and you are just in love with Tom and Hyacinth. They are absolutely perfect for each other and through all of their struggles help each other to heal and move forward. Best book in the series in my opinion.

Jilted by the woman he loved, Tom, Viscount Sidmouth, has decided he will happily remain a bachelor for the rest of his life. He wants nothing to do with affairs of the heart. After spending years trapped in a loveless marriage, Hyacinth has returned to London on a mission to experience everything she missed. Balls, parties, flirtations, and assignations she wants it all. She isn’t about to allow her disapproving neighbour to spoil her fun. Until late one night her pug, Adelaide gets tangled in the rose bushes & Tom rescues her, Tom asks for a kiss as payment & what is one of the hottest kisses I’ve read leaves Adelaide practically boneless & senseless. Their paths cross at a masked ball & they agree to have an affair for only a fortnight.
I’m so, so glad Tom has had his story & what an awesome romance, touching, poignant & steamy. Tom & Hyacinth are both fighting their demons, him from the bottom of a bottle & her by throwing wild parties but neither of them’s happy. Their attraction is combustible but they also start to reveal their past to each other & of course they both fall in love but a fortnight is a fortnight & all good things must end or must they? A brilliantly written romance with very strong characters & a romance that warms the heart
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
This book is AMAZING!! Scarlett Scott did it again!!! OMG these two can’t keep their hands of each other!
Tom, Viscount Sidmouth, is hurting after his fiancée Nelly jilted him and he promised himself never to fall in love again.
After spending years trapped in a loveless marriage, Hyacinth has returned to London and “the merry widow” is looking to experience everything she missed. Balls, parties, flirtations, and assignations—she wants it all. She isn’t about to allow her disapproving neighbor to spoil her fun.
But after Tom recues Hyacinth´s puppy late one night and kisses her senseless, they feel the need to explore this burning fire that has born under the moon.
The chemistry between Hyacinth and Tom is so strong that you can almost feel it. There are a lot of hot scenes between them and this is one of those books that you can’t stop reading even if your house is on fire!
Tom is the hero that every girl wants to marry. He is sweet and considerate -the perfect gentleman-but at the same time sexy and witty and the most important part for me is that he makes her feel special and cherished.
You don´t want to miss this one. For me, one the author’s best books (And I have read all of them!).
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Oh, I am so happy – thank you to Scarlett for giving the readers a happy ending (even though we whined a lot) for Tom!
The handsome, kind and loving, Tom, Viscount Sidmouth has achieved his HEA and no one deserved one more than him. After his heart was broken by Nell, in the Missing Marquess Book 5 in this series; he has decided he will remain a bachelor for the rest of the life and happily proceed with the single life.
Hyacinth, Lady Southwick, is beautiful and has recently become a widow. Her marriage was arranged by her parents to a man old enough to be her father. He was verbally abusive, a couple of time physically, and they stayed in the country where he controlled her every move until his death. She now lives in London and is ready to spread her wings, embrace her freedom and just love the single way of life.
Tom & Hyacinth are both trying to survive their hurt from the past and move forward to happiness and when they meet everything they have planned is thrown into a whirlwind of romance, lust & love . The explosion of Tom’s long celibacy and Hyacinth’s horrible marriage bed experiences lead to a fantastic love affair and more. This was a rewarding and fulfilling book that will leave you completely satisfied with its successful conclusion for two deserving people.
I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.
Five stars! I was gifted with an ARC and these opinions are entirely my own. It is an unexpectedly-beautiful and touching love story that still has plenty of passion. I didn’t think I would like Tom very much after reading Her Missing Marquess. I was so pleasantly-surprised when I read this book and I ended up feeling a great deal of compassion for him after what Nell put him through.
Viscount Sidmouth (Tom) meets his neighbor, Lady Southwick (Hyacinth) who throws wild parties that keep him awake. He assumes that Hyacinth herself is wild and obnoxious–similar to his former flame, Nell. When Tom spends time with Hyacinth he discovers that she is a beautiful soul and that he feels not only attracted to her, but very comfortable with her. Hyacinth is drawn to Tom’s nurturing nature. Tom takes care of Hyacinth emotionally and physically! He liberates her from the fear of intimacy inflicted on her by her abusive deceased husband. This is a beautiful book, and now one of my favorites by Mrs. Scott. Thank you, Mrs. Scott for giving me a much-needed distraction during this stressful time!
This book is part of the series Wicked Husbands, it is a stand-alone book, but if you want to know a little of the background, I recommend reading Her Missing Marquess, which was also a wonderful book. This book is about Tom, who has been hurt and felt betrayed by someone he loved. Tom does not want to fall in love again or be involved with any lady, until he meets Hyacinth, his next-door neighbor. Hyacinth, who is a widow has been hurt physically and emotional in her marriage and now just wants to have fun, freedom and does not want to be involved with any one man. Once they meet and kiss there is a chemistry between them which cannot be denied. The way Scarlett Scott writes a story, she lets you get to know the characters, their feelings, emotions and their thoughts. You feel like you know them, and you are hoping for their happy ending. The love scenes were of course hot, which is always nice, but the nice part is Tom and how nice of a guy he is and how he treats Hyacinth. The author also sets up a possible next book with Hyacinth and Tom’s friends – I can’t wait.
I received an ARC copy of this book for my honest opinion.
You remember Tom, right. He was the one we wanted a story for after the last book. He’s not a rake or a rogue but a really nice guy. The one we might look over but Tom would not let that happen. Reading this story you might think this is just a nice story but it goes way deeper. Hyacinth’s story is one we have read about but hearing her tell it makes it come to life. This is in part by Scarlett’s fantastic storytelling. The interactions during their trysts are heartwarming and again I credit Scarlett’s storytelling. She writes a story that will pull you in, make you love her characters and put a grin on your face by the end.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
Scarlett Scott never disappoints! Her characters are warm and entertaining and draw me in every time. Tom and Hyacinth are two broken and beloved characters that keep you turning the pages to see what delicious stew they will cook up. Certainly they are spicy hot and altogether dangerously combustible! Another decadent page turner from the first page to the last.
This was a wonderful book. I enjoy every book written by Scarlett Scott.
I’m so glad Tom finally got his story—he is definitely a sweet heart. This book has just the right amount of heat/steam, balanced with love and kindness. Tom and Hyacinth’s HEA is well deserved and wonderfully written!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Another captivating story
This is another captivating story, that keeps you gripped right to the end. The characters are crafted brilliantly, and have some intriguing fears to overcome. This is a beautifully written book that would suit all those who love hot steamy historical romances, that has lots of emotional passages.
Tom, Viscount Sidmouth, jilted by Nell after 3 years of faithful attendance (she returned to her husband in previous book) is nursing a battered heart and betrayal, wallowing in drunken misery. His new neighbor, a widow, fond of throwing loud and scandalous parties is interrupting his depression. Seeking peace in his garden, he hears the cries of an animal in pain – and rescues a pug from a thorny rosebush – at the same time Hyacinth, Lady Southwick, is searching for her missing dog, Lady. Grateful for Tom’s rescue of her pup, Tom’s price is a kiss in the moonlight. That changes all for both of them. Hyacinth had been trapped in a cruel and cold marriage to an abusive man. Now free, she wants no part of any commitment. Tom still bears scars of unrequited love and does not want to play the fool again. Both want a no string relationship and agree on 14 days of distraction. But Tom’s gentleness and tenderness and Hyacinth’s sweet nature in spite of all she suffered lead them to realize love IS freedom, not a burden or chain. Love makes the heart and life full! Beautiful love story about taking a chance to win life’s most precious gift!!
I read and review a fair number of books, and I typically write my reviews pretty immediately after finishing a story. I finished this one a while ago though, and kind of struggled with how to put my opinion into words without sounding ridiculously effusive. ‘Her Virtuous Viscount’ is the 6th book in Scarlett Scott’s “Wicked Husband” series. It follows ‘Her Missing Marquess’ in the series order, and that book is where you first meet to hero of this one, Tom, Viscount Sidmouth. This book can be read completely as a stand-alone, but I think it’s even better if you read that one and learn where virtuous Tom’s problems originate.
Tom has a broken heart. The woman he loved broke off their engagement after basically using him to manipulate the husband she was divorcing. Tom has sworn off love and marriage, and just wants to quietly drink away his sorrows. A young widow rents the house next door and moves in with her barking dog and her raucous parties, aggravating and embittering him even more. Hyacinth, Lady Southwick, is finally done with mourning the welcomed death of her vicious, abusive husband. She is determined to embrace the opportunity to live life the way she wants to, free from misery. She has sworn off love and marriage as being a way women are forced to live under the control of men, and has firmly resolved to never put herself in that vulnerable situation again. I don’t want to recount the plot any further, except to say they discover they have an intense mutual physical attraction, and decide to indulge in that for 2 weeks then walk away from each other. I’m sure you can guess it won’t be that simple.
There is plenty of heat and humor in this book, and great secondary characters including a mischievous little pug dog. Scott has crafted a wonderful story of 2 special people who are drawn together powerfully enough to overcome the dark shadows of their respective pasts. As the reader you can’t wait for them to get together, and then it’s bittersweet when they do have their HEA because that means that our window into their world has closed. There were a lot of emotions packed into this story, but it was done so very well that it left me with a happy ‘book hangover.’ Now I have my fingers crossed tightly that Tom and Hyacinth’s best friends, Lottie and Brandon, will get their turn in the spotlight soon!
Heartbroken Tom, Viscount Sidmouth has decided he’s done with love and women that is until he meets his widowed neighbor the “Lady Wild Widow. Unhappily married Lady Hyacinth has returned to London a widow on a mission to experience everything she missed and then some. The handsome neighbor rescues her dog and for a reward he kisses as no man has ever kissed her before. What ensues is a short fortnight affair where they’ll go their separate ways once the newness has worn off. Neither expects their feeling will become engaged and long for more, but can they overcome their past tragedies and find the happiness they both want and deserve. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent book.
