MerrisI’m going to find the man who killed my sister. He’s going to pay for what he’s done.I don’t know his name, but I know his face. Every night in my dreams, he emerges from the shadows. A dark and dangerous creature with a sinful smile. Hunting me. His prey. But when he finally catches me, I come to crave his bite… and when I please.
But nothing’s sweeter than the taste of a submissive woman–one who wants revenge.
She’s smart, brazen, fearless when she ought not to be.
I’ll teach her the monster living in the shadows can and will hunt her back.
But the creatures who killed her sister want to take her from me.
I won’t allow it.
She belongs to me now.
Only by me.
Forever.

I love Maren Smith’s writing and this book–a dominant vampire paired with a feisty mortal– is absolutely delicious! Don’t miss it!

Merris is looking for the one responsible for killing her sister. She’s been having dreams about it and those dreams have led her to club Toxic and to Aleron. However her dreams aren’t exactly reliable when it comes to what she’s seeing. Aleron knows that there is something different in Merris but doesn’t know what it is. He thought he would be alone for the rest of his days but it doesn’t look that way now. Will Merris find the answers she is looking for? Will Aleron find a mate he didn’t know he was missing?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would re3commend this book to any book lover.

What a wonderful story. I am not into shifters or vampires, but Maren Smith did an excellent job on his story. The connection between Merris and Aleron is electrifying. This is a must read. Enjoy.
This book “Her Vampire Master” is the first in the Midnight Doms series and it is a GREAT start! It is fast paced with lots of suspense and a deeply wonderful romantic love story. Merris is searching for the man who killed her twin sister. She is stoic in her search and at first believes Aleron is the killer. Aleron – how does one describe a very old vampire who has lived for so many years that he is bored with life – well, part of the answer is: how much changes in his life, once he meets Merris. Maren Smith fully develops her characters and it is beautiful to read the scenes with Aleron that show the depth of his love for Merris. Aleron goes through major growth throughout the book and it’s a pleasure to read this well written story. It is a page turner and I could not put the book down. Thank you for a wonderful read!!!
When I first started reading this, I was confused. In my mind, I couldn’t put the pieces together and got frustrated there for a moment until I reached chapter one. Merris is a twin to Jezebel, aka Jez, whose death was classified as a drug inflicted death of a prostitute. Merris knows that to be false but can’t prove it. She’s seen it in her mind. Not the who, why, or details but she’s seen parts of that night in her mind like a movie playing out in bits and pieces. Unfortunately, nothing is in order but she intends to get a confession from the man she’s certain killed her sister. There’s intrigue and mystery, an unwanted chemistry, a game of cat and mouse, and let’s not forget the drama. This just hooked me from the first chapter and I haven’t been able to put it down because I wanted the details as well.
This story seemed to take on a life of its own. The emotional and physical impact Merris and Aleron have on each is so palpable you can almost feel it coming off the pages. I don’t think I’ve read a vampire story of this ilk in quite some time. Now I want to know what comes next and with who. This is a great read and I’m honored to have been a part of it.
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. The short story of eroticism of sensation. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.
Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

I’m loving these Midnight Dom stories! They each have their own special Vampire and human. These stories blend together stemlessly even though the stories are told by different authors! I love collaborations between authors with same basic side character. Awesome read!
Merris and Aleron Are both fantastic characters!
A delightful story of an infectious attraction between a vampire Dom and his feisty human female sub. Aleron is over 100 years old and has lived through many moments in time. He has learned not to get attached because at the end you always stand on your own and being attached can be a weakness. Merris is a determined feisty young woman who is out to solve the mystery behind her twin sister’s murder. She has insight as to who and what was happening to her twin the night of her death and all her visions lead to Club Toxic and Aleron. Convinced that Aleron is guilty or at the very least involved in her sister’s death, Merris enters an unknown world where she can lose herself to desire. Aleron sees Merris as a puzzle to solve and is deeply intrigued by her. He never plays with the same person twice, but it seems his rules are about to be broken. When Merris and her prying gets her into hot waters, Aleron finds himself throwing all care to wind and exposing himself along with his newfound weakness to those who might pose great danger. This was a fun story that slowly builds to a fantastic crescendo. It was great to see a few key characters from the first book mentioned in this book. I cant wait to read the next one!
Merris is hunting for her twin sister’s killer. She believes it to be a man named Aleron and shows up at Club Toxic to get answers. Aleron is a nine hundred year old vampire and has accepted that he will have a life alone with no mate. Merris changes all of that as she is different from the moment Aleron meets her. The problem is will the creatures that murdered Merris sister get to her before Aleron can save her? A good start to the series.

I love it when the authors I love are friends, or at least willing to share their worlds, with other authors that I love. This story is a stand alone, set in the same world as Renee Rose and Lee Savino’s Bad Boy Alphas series. If you have read that then some of the characters will be familiar. If you haven’t, you can still enjoy this amazing read and I recommend you check out the other series.
OMG! I loved everything about this one. It has all the things I look for in a great read, and kept me interested from beginning to end. Merris is a beautiful blend of stubbornness, determination, bravado, sass that I love so much. Aleron is the bored, sexy, dominant, control freak with a sense of danger and a hidden heart of gold that all of my favorite heroes have. When they come together the sparks fly and the heat is intense. It isn’t just the sexiness that kept me glued to the pages, however. It was also the fast-paced, action-packed adventure these two get thrust into. It was amazing! I can’t wait to read more of this series.
This was a little different than I have read before. Merris was looking for her sisters killer and finds Aleron. I thought it was interesting that Merris has visions of the night her sister was killed. I thought Merris and Aleron had an interesting story.

I loved this book. I sucked in from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. There were a few small grammatical errors, but not enough to really take me out of the story. I am definitely looking forward to more. I do have a small issue with the ending. I liked it, but I wish it were better. I wish she had been changed, or at least plans.
This is a good book. Enjoyed the characters and the story is well written. This is a new author for me and I will be reading more. I recommend reading.

This was an enticing story that captivated me!

After the death of her twin sister, Merris tries to retrace her movements in an effort to identify the culprit. The twins were connected through psychic images of the past and future and she sees the vision of a man talking to her sister the night she died and she seeks him out. Aleron was who she saw but he was no longer a man but a nine hundred year old vampire. In his presence she is both facinated and fearful but determined to know if he was the killer. Together they seek to uncover the truth about her sister’s death and the attraction that binds the two of them to each other. This was an enticing story that captivated me, however the ending was a disappointment to me. This is book one of a series so I hope I see more of these two characters in the next book.

Merris thinks she knows what happened to her sister. She thinks she knows the killer her vision tells her its him but what if its wrong. Aleron I knew her twin but it was nothing special just some fun and a kiss but everything is different with Merris. Some bad people are after Merris and with two groups looking to be over Tucson and one sinister Vamp looking to take advantage Merris has gotten in way over her head and then there is Aleron. There relationship is complicated with heat and danger. This book was not what I usually read but it wasn’t boring some parts felt a little rushed but it was mostly at the end there was just this open ended point you wonder what happened to Merris and Aleron yes they get together but what happened next.

I am always a bit wary of reading books by different authors but set in the same world. You never know what you will get – some are a tribute to the original author’s books and others manage to ruin the world. This book definitely falls into the first category. Maren Smith has taken the Bad Boy Alpha series set in Tucson and added a story that fits seamlessly into this world. You do not have to read that series to enjoy this book, but the experience will be enhanced (the books by Lee Savino and Renee Rose are great!) and you will recognize familiar characters.
The verbal foreplay between the main characters is so hot that it is surprising that the sex and BDSM aspects are limited in the story (although the scenes are very sexy!).
The mystery, danger and romance of the story made this book very entertaining and hard to put down until the end.
I received a free copy of this book for my honest opinion. Since I rely on reviews to make informed decisions, just like you, I will never exaggerate my opinion about any purchases I make.
I have never read Maren Smith before and must say I loved this story! Aleron is a vampire and Merris, who is hunting down the person who murdered her sister, has visions of Aleron and her sister together the night that she is murdered. She finds him in Lucius’ club and their relationship starts. The story itself is fast paced and a really good read.
