Her Undercover Prince is the 5th book in Carol Moncado’s Crowns and Courtship series. In this book we go back to San Majora and we get to read about Jaqueline Grace. Jaqueline Grace was such a sweet character in the other books and I was really excited to read her book. It was really cute and I was so happy that she found someone to complement her.
Jaqueline Grace is a single mother struggling to care for the daughter she has taken in as the whole world watches her. She tries her best, but she is also tired. She really just wants to meet someone who will understand her and help shoulder the burden she has to bear. And then she meets a young man named David, who also has his own little girl to care for and she feels as if she has found someone who understands her.
I felt bad for Jaqueline Grace, she really cared for her family and she just wanted them to be happy. She adored her daughter, Kiara, but it was hard being a single mother. Meeting David was like meeting someone who spoke her own language. Jaqueline Grace was such a sweet character and I really liked her. It was really fun to read about how she cared for Kiara. She could be more shy, but she also knew how to be strong when she had to be.
David was undercover, he needed to bring his friends to justice. But things don’t always go according to plan, instead of this being an easy mission he finds himself caring for a daughter. However things start to go according to plan when he finds himself a job that will allow him to get close to the man who killed his friends. He just doesn’t count on falling in love and finding himself caring for not only the girl who was left in his care, but also Jaqueline Grace and her daughter.
David was a kind man, I liked him. He had just been so caught up in bringing his friends to justice. He really cared for Mary and he grew to love her as his own. It was so cute watching him interact with Jacqueline Grace, Kiara, and Mary they were like a family from the beginning.
David and Jaqueline Grace were cute together and I loved reading about them together. They had to get through some hard things, but they came out stronger together. But will the secrets that David keeps rip them apart?
I really enjoyed Her Undercover Prince and I would definitely recommend it. I liked it more than I thought I would and it was so nice to see the San Majora royal family again. Her Undercover Prince was a great addition to the series.
Welcome to the rich and privileged world of Princess Jacqueline Grace. Travel, assistants, drivers, and other support staff are as normal as breathing. But she’s not uncaring. In fact, she’s currently caring for and hopes to adopt young orphan girl.
When Dave Smith saunters on to the beach, also with a young foster child, the children bond tight as sisters within one play period. Hired as a new assistant valet to the king, he soon finds his duties have changed, and he’s assigned as an undercover bodyguard on an extended business and pleasure trip with the princess and the children.
Stepping into this Christian romance series in book 5 made an interesting challenge. Ms. Moncado was skillful enough that it was only when the extended family gathered together that the reader may get confused. This was a great read, with sunshine and beaches, during a Midwest winter.
I love Carol Moncado’s books. Such wonderful stories. Carol’s stories are so well written.
This was book was yet another great book in a fantastic series! Once I started reading, it pulled me in hook, line, and sinker! Such great character development and plot flow. Highly recommend! I received an ARC for this review, thoughts are all my own.
Realistic characters, a single Mom – she happens to be a Princess, which just adds to the number of people telling her what she’s doing wrong, Life happens and I wasn’t able to read straight through – probably a good thing as it would have been a sleepless night if I had! I loved the twists, ended up pulling a late night to finish it – because there was no way I was laying it down!
Dave was an unexpected complication in Princess Jacqueline Grace’s life. Her strong attraction to the man she believed to be her father’s new assistant valet was just not acceptable to her. Not that she was a snob, because she really wasn’t. It was out of a concern for her country and how they would react after so many of her siblings married “commoners” (my word – not hers!)
I was so proud of this princess for the way she reacted when she was given such a horrible slight by the Trade Minister of Athmetis. The way she stood up for herself and her country in such a strong yet gracious manner had me cheering for her!
Other than the cloaking of both his identity and his reason for being on San Majoria, Dave was an amazing guy. After two dates with a woman, she left her daughter in his care for a few hours and then never returned. While he could have turned little Mary over to the state, he chose instead to nurture her and be a stable influence in her life, even though it slowed down his mission. He was loyal, humble and kind.
I also loved seeing King Edward at work again. He has been so delightful as he helps his adult children through life and tries to help King Benjamin as well. In this book, though it wasn’t blatant, it appears that he enjoyed the role of matchmaker.
There were a number of twists in the story. I was surprised by some of the events and enjoyed the way so many of the royals from so many countries made appearances here.

I was given a free copy of this item. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.
In Ms. Moncado’s latest book in the Crowns and Courtships series, this book focuses on Princess Jacqueline Grace of San Majoria. She is currently parenting (fostering) a child and through her friendship with another girl she meets Dave. Dave is also starting to work for her father at this point. Together as they travel, Dave and Jacqueline Grace get to know each other. However, Dave has secrets that he is not willing to share. His protective side comes out when they are faced with a few obstacles. This book continues this series and storylines. You can read this book as a stand-alone novel, but I would recommend reading the whole series. Ms. Moncado’s books are so entertaining and enjoyable. I love that the books continue one from another and you get to know all of the members of these families. There are situations of suspense in this book and it does answer some questions leftover from the previous books. You also will get caught up in the main characters of the other novels. I highly recommend this book (and series)! You will not be disappointed in the book! I am already looking forward to the next book!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the author for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this ARC copy early, I have pre-purchased this book.
I love reading Carol Moncado’s books and Her Undercover Prince did not disappoint!!! It can be read as a stand-alone but, is so much more exciting being read as book 5 in the Crowns and Courtships Series. She weaves so many plots together throughout the book that it will keep you guessing until it all blows up and then some.
In Her Undercover Prince, we find Princess Jacqueline Grace of San Majoria being “foster mom” to Kiara, a ward of the royal family. It is in her nature to help others and loves the little girl as her own (even if the press critiques everything she does). While on an outing, she meets a little girl who cannot find her father. After a brief search, he finds them. She is quite taken with the handsome Dave but, knows she could never marry a man who was just hired to be her father the King’s valet.
Dave Smith, guardian to Mary, finds Princess Jacqueline Grace stunning. However, he has a secret and a mission that not even the princess or his ward could keep him from for long. After hunting a killer for over a year, he needs to gain more intel which, his new role in the palace could give him. To his surprise, he and Mary are asked the accompany Princess Jacqueline Grace on her upcoming trip to serve as an undercover bodyguard (due to his former military service) and for his daughter to be able to spend time with her new best friend Kiara.
Will Dave catch the killer and land the girl? You will have to read to find out! Enjoy:)
Note: I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I am not just saying it was good though. You should check it out and see for yourself.
Carol Moncado again gives us an exciting look into the lives of royals.
I loved the well crafted storyline and the amazing characters.
The suspense with the twists and turns kept my eyes glued to the book from first word until last.
This book is recommended for those who love sweet romance with royals.
Another enjoyable read full of classic Moncado plot twists! You can read this without having read other Carol Moncado books, but it does enhance the enjoyment if you read at least this series, Crowns & Courtships, in order. The plot twists are fed by secrets, villains, and other mysteries that need to come to light. Moncado does a great job of slowly and tantalizingly revealing those secrets, mysteries, and villains. It’s always fun to catch up on what’s happened in the lives of characters from previous books as well. A very satisfying addition to Moncado’s royalty books.
I’d love to pick Carol’s brain for how she comes up with the stories in this series and how she keeps all the details straight. Her Undercover Prince was full of great characters, mystery, intrigue, and a good dose of romance. In each of the books in this series, we get to see royals as regular people, with hurts, heartaches, and everyday, normal lives like the rest of us. And she keeps it interesting – to the point that once you pick up one of her stories, it’s hard to put it down. As soon as I finish the current story, I look forward to the next. And the wait is always worth it!

When I pick up a Carol Moncado book I always know I won’t want to put it down until I’m finished. This book didn’t disappoint me.
The author brings to life the “Royals” in such a way we can all relate. They have issues just like us and their lives are always full of interesting events.
In this story, the author brings out the issue of fear; of being abandoned, of not having a purpose, and the fear of being captured. Now, some of us might not have that last fear, but there’s always a type of that fear for every parent.
Jacqueline Grace just wants to be a good mom to Kiara, but she also wants to have a purpose in the family. She doesn’t want to always be judged by the fact she’s a single mother. Yet, there seems to be an underlying feeling of something bad is going to happen.
Dave is a single dad, well sort of, of a sweet little girl who becomes fast friends with Kiara. He also has secrets and a purpose which he can’t tell anyone. Things start to happen where Dave and Jacqueline Grace are put together and sparks fly. They both try to push the feelings away, but situations keep tossing them together. Will they be able to survive the trials, or will the trials drive them apart?
Once again I just need to say, If you LOVE reading stories regarding royalty and all that life can bring, then you really need to pick this book up and read it! You won’t be disappointed.
I received this book from the author and all opinions are my own.
I love Carol’s Books, so many magical places and stories. This latest book is one of my favorites 🙂 love the unexcpected twists. I couldnt put it down, a real page turner.
Book 5 in this series is another great book filled with humor, romance, and intrigue! I love the way Ms. Moncado weaves together a great story spanning throughout so many different books! They are interesting enough to keep you guessing about what’s happening and yet intertwined with former characters to make it seem familiar. I highly recommend this author!
Once again Carol Moncado put together a story that holds your attention. The approach had a great unique touch that I really enjoyed
I love these books! The story between the main characters is great. The plot has several twist that I didn’t see coming. I love the way family stands with each other even when the characters try to do their own thing.
Excellent! I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this one. I loved the last book in this series since there was no “single parent” main character. Well, we’re back to the single parent main character, which is okay, since the premise was a bit different than I was afraid it was.
As usual, this book was well written and interesting. The characters were great, which is my biggest review factor: plausible plots and believable characters. This did well at both. I will reread this.
Oh wow is all I can say! I loved this book; well I love all of Ms. Moncado’s book! This book I have to say is a favorite among my favorites right now. I love how the characters interacted, how she revisited “old” characters and how we were introduced to new characters and countries. I’m so excited for the future of her books!
This book was unexpected and had a different flow than I was expecting in this series. I loved practical princess and the plot twists I never saw coming!
