The second and final book in the Dirtier Duet by Lisa Renee Jones.Abbie swore that she was done with rich, powerful men. They’ve hurt her. They’ve hurt her mother, who she will do anything to protect. She’s done playing the submissive. She’s ready to fight back. The problem is that Gabe Maxwell is one of those rich, powerful men and he refuses to be ignored. He’s in her path and she can’t seem to … she can’t seem to steer clear of him. He wants her. She wants him. But it’s not that simple.
There is more to her story, more than Gabe knows, but then, there is more to Gabe’s story than Abbie knows, too.

Her Submission by Lisa Renee Jones is book 2 in the Dirtier Duet. This is the continuing story of Gabe and Abbie. Book 2 starts off right where book 1 left off.
Abbie and Gabe find themselves in a vulnerable spot. Abbie’s past comes rushing to the forefront while Gabe does everything he can to prevent his part from Abbie from finding out his role that he played in her past plus making sure she’s kept safe from the danger that’s stalking her. The plot is full of action, drama, angst, twists, turns, suspense, surprises, passion , excitement, romance and love. This is one rollercoaster ride that rode its way to a thrilling end.
My Rating: 4.7 stars ******
A great conclusion to the Dirtier Duet. It begins right where it ended with the epic cliff hanger and Abbie wants to run and protect Gabe with everything that she has. Abbie definitely feels she put things in play with her call for help. What she soon learns is that Gabe does not back down from a challenge and he is falling fast for Abbie and does not want to let her go. The twists and turns and guesses as to who is doing what continues up until the end. It’s great how Reid & Carrie and Reese & Cat have such big parts in this book. Ultimately it comes down to Gabe and Abbie believing in each other and deciding to trust in their love. Lisa Renee Jones writes the best HEA for them!!!
This is the conclusion to Gab and Abbie’s story and don’t forget Dexter. Dexter, the serial killer dog who doesn’t realize he is a serial killer because he is too busy loving and protecting his family. Gabe and him make a great team that way and why they are true spirit animals as they live to love and protect Abbie. This story is full of lies and suspicion and love and weaves its way through until all the secrets are revealed. Make sure you read His Demand first and while you are at it grab Cat’s and Reid’s stories too. These Maxwells cannot be missed!
Full of suspense, tension, drama, sizzling, combustible chemistry and love. Lisa Renee Jones knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seat, with twists and turns until the end. With complex characters that will entice and excite. Her stories will have you turning the pages so fast you become breathless, of course that could also be from the scorching hot scenes.
This starts right where His Demand left off, leaving many questions and concerns for Abbie and Gabe’s relationship. These two have many secrets in their past, that have molded them into the person they are today. But as they fight to get through it together, their secrets, and their family will help bind them together. Loved everything Dexter! And as always Loved this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced review copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Her submission is the second book in the Dirtier Duet by Lisa Renne Jones and picks up right where the first book His Demand ended. Being a duet, you must read the first book, to get the full story and events.
Abbie’s husband, Kenneth, is dead and you think that she and Gabe are free and out of problems to a HEA. But no, things get complicated…Again. With Abbie and Gabe, nothing seems easy.
The first half of the book seemed to pass very slow for me. It seemed that the action went round and round. Abbie begins again with her negative thoughts that she puts Gabe and his loved one in danger.
Gabe on the other hand, he doesn’t trust Abbie with his demons and his past, but demands form Abbie 100% trust. Slowly they grow as a couple, and they learn to trust each other. If they want a HEA, they have to work it and fight it together.
Dexter the dog, was AMAZING. I love him very much…And I also loved the secondary characters from Dirty Rich, Cat, Reese, Reid, and Carrie, and of course Blake and his Walker Security team!

Her Submission continues the sexy and suspenseful story of Abbie and Gabe. They are still in the middle of the storm created by her ex and his father, which tests their trust in each other and their growing relationship. Abbie and Gabe have quickly bonded both through their irresistible chemistry and a recognition of being hurt by someone who should have kept them safe. Gabe is a protective alpha male to Abbie’s determined independence and feisty nature. With the help of Gabe’s siblings, their significant others, and Walker Security, they have their work cut out for them in yet another mystery of corruption and greed. You’ll definitely want to read this duet in order.
Her Submission is a fabulous conclusion of the Dirtier Duet. You must read His Demand first. Gabe and Addie are still as hot as ever in this one. But this time around all secrets are finally revealed. I loved this one so much. Lisa Renee Jones knows how to bring on the hot as well as keep you on your toes and glued to the pages. You will swoon even more for Gabe in this one. I love the strength Abbie continues to show throughout this one. Seriously if you haven’t read this duet yet you need to. If you read His Demand then you know what you are going to get into with this one and you are going to love Her Submission so much. Go one click this one.
There is a lot going on when Her Submission picks up. Abbie now is going to have to trust Gabe, Reese, Walker Security, and the family who’s welcomed her with open arms to get her through this.
Whew, this was a whirlwind of chaos and moving parts. Abbie and Gabe fall deeper for each other, even as they learn to lean on each other and fully trust each other. They both have a lot of baggage, particularly Gabe, and the harder they fall for each other, the more they’ll learn to let go of that baggage and trust the other will still be there when all is said and done.
Gabe may not be my favorite hero of this author’s, but he’s a wonderful character in his own right – complex, fiercely devoted, and alpha to his core, with a huge heart. I don’t feel I quite connected to Abbie as much as I did to Gabe, but I still really liked her and how well she and Gabe complemented each other more and more as they fell harder and harder.
If you haven’t read the Dirtier Duet yet, I highly recommend you start today. It’s fast-paced and exciting, steamy and passionate with suspense and intrigue weaved throughout.
Book two continues Gabe and Abbie’s story and the suspense just continues to grow. With the possibility of a murder charge looming over them, the couple find themselves struggling to trust each other. Gabe and Abbie’s personal issues are holding each of them back. He wants Abbie to trust him with her past, yet he doesn’t trust her with his. Abbie wants to keep everyone safe and in her mind for that to happen she needs to leave and handle this on her own. Abbie is not used to anyone putting her first. Gabe, family and friends reassure Abbie that they will all work together to see this through. The couple deal with the trust issue throughout the book and understandably so. They have both been used and hurt by people they loved. Unfortunately, as they navigate through all the lies and manipulations, they realize their pasts are more than connected to the murder and neither is prepared for what that means.
It took a bit, but I was glad to see the couple growing and talking to work through their issues. Towards the end of the book Gabe and Abbie were able to see a future for themselves and trust in that future. When that happened, each were able to talk about their pasts and put it behind them. Gabe’s story broke my heart and with Abbie I just wanted to hug her.
This author always comes through and even though there is a bit of back and forth that drove me nuts, I still enjoyed this book very much.
The sexy times were hot as usual!! The storyline outside of the romance was handled in an unusual way and I totally love that it wasn’t “cliché”. It’s nice to see things wrapped up in a different way – not all things are black and white and, in this story, the gray wins.
5 GREAT ENDING STARS!! What a great ending to this duet. I love Abbie and Gabe their story had me flipping pages like crazy. Their story is full of sexiness, suspense, a cute dog and love. This author always gives me what I am loving for in a fantastic book. I highly suggest this duet…..you will love it.
Her Submission is book 2 in the Dirtier Duet by Lisa Renee Jones. This is the continuing story of Gabe and Abbie and picks right up where His Demand left off. This author never fells to take you on a suspenseful filled ride with lots of drama and hot romance. Secrets are revealed and I was so happy with the conclusion to this duet. I loved this book and highly recommend it.
This is the second book in the Dirtier Duet series and my second book by Lisa Renee Jones.
There is seriously no shortage of drama and suspense in book two as Gabe and Abbie’s relationship
continues to grow! I was so excited to be able to read book two right away and was not disappointed!
What a great ending to a fabulous duet!!
4.5* Abbie and Gabe have so many secrets between them but if they can trust each other with the darkest ones, the rest will be simple. It’s just getting to that point in their relationship that is going to be hard.
Abbie is astounded by the way that Gabe’s brother and sister and their significant others folds her into their arms as being one of them. That they’re all family but will Gabe’s secret tear them apart?
Loved the suspense, the love that you could feel leap off the page at you! Great final book in the duet.
This is the conclusion to Gabe and Abbie’s story. And what a freaking story this is. This one picks up right where the first one left off. Abbie is dealing with a death. But there are so many different players involved with this death. Who will be to blame? Who will take the fall? Who will get hurt in the end? Gabe is standing by Abbie no matter what happens but Abbie wants to run. I absolutely loved this conclusion. It was amazingly written. You can easily feel the love that Gabe has for Abbie and everything that he does for her shows that. Abbie’s character was amazing so strong through everything. Just an amazing Duet from a great writer
“don’t want anyone to take us from us”, Gabe and Abbie spend the whole book trying not to let this happen. Do they win in the end, you’ll have to read to find out, but I promise you won’t be disappointed. Gabe is hands down one of my favourite characters ever in a Lisa Rene Jones book, he is alpha with a capital A, but also has a sweet and vulnerable side. Reading these books has always felt to me like spending time with old friends. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
We get the conclusion in the Dirtier Duet with Her Submission! I was completely on a cliffhanger hangover with this one from book one. We just had a bomb dropped on us and were left in the dark. Her Submission picks up where we left off with His Demand.
Abbie is a spitfire and still challenges Gabe. With this book, Gabe needs a push in the right direction. He needs to learn how to get out of his head. The sexy times are naughty with these two. The chemistry is electrifying.
Her Submission will take you to places you will get addicted to. These characters will stay in your heart for a long time to come.
Lisa Renee Jones really heightens the intrigue and anticipation as she weaves a tale of deception and betrayal. I am usually pretty good at figuring out “who done it” but this one kept me guessing. The fact that Reid, Carrie, Reese, Cat and Blake Walker figure into this story is a real bonus.
The death of Abbie’s ex-husband shines a bright, glaring spotlight on both Gabe and Abbie. Even their darkest secrets may exposed. Gabe and Abbie try to ignore their growing feelings for one another and at the very least refuse to label them. In order for them to be an “us” there has to be honesty between them. If Abbie hears the complete truth about Gabe’s darkness, he fears that she will leave. Abbie is not a quitter and her steadfast assurances relieve Gabe of his guilt once the truth is revealed.
Live-wire intensity from the very first page. It’s all sizzling with threatening energy as this passionate couple, Gabe and Abbie, face the law, the past and a triunvirate of enemies in a last stand. So exciting!
The author’s style relies heavily on dialogues, so every pull and push of the plot happens while characters are talking, teasing, planning, verbally sparring and proclaiming their fears, promises and raw feelings in the open.
The main characters are committed to saving each other. However, they’re carrying a heavy load of guilt and conditioning from past experiences. Therefore, they demand trust though they cave in to fear of losing each other and their hearts in the process. I think that’s why they make mistakes that add lots of tension, duel of wills and bumps into their relationship.
I absolutely enjoyed the dynamics among the characters that conform the series as they come up with strategies to deal with the criminal investigation around Abbie’s ex-husband. The intimate scenes are scarce but well placed and passionate 😉
When the time comes for Gabe to confess his darkest sin, I was taken aback. Wow, that was a pretty brutal bomb. I got why he was so worried that Abbie could leave him. Maybe she should’ve taken a while longer to forgive such a grave matter. Anyways, the resolution of the conflicts was good, laying maybe some foundation for future trouble.
I can see that man Jean Claude as a fine specimen for another novel 😀 And oh, how much I loved all the interaction with the dog Dexter. That was priceless. The final chapters also rounded the characters’ closure very well. This is a very worthy duet.
Her Submission is the final and 2nd installment of the Dirtier Duet. This book is NOT a standalone, You mhst read His Demand first.
Gabe and Abby’s story continues on from where we were left in His Demand.
We learn more about their pasts, their struggles of dealing with the past. This book is a hot and steamy read. There’s so much more I want to say but I won’t spoil it for you..
I’ve been waiting for the second part of Gabe’s and Abbie’s story since that cliffhanger in the first book, His Surrender. Now that’s it here; I’m sad that I read this book so fast because I wanted to know more about Gabe and Abbie. I feel like they didn’t get the long enough story like Gabe’s brother and sister did in the Dirty Rich series. I’m thinking it’s due to reading it so fast though to find out if Gabe would finally have his HEA and then Abbie would have happiness too, after her awful marriage.
I will say this though, Lisa Renee Jones made me love Gabe even more after reading his story. He’s not such a horrible person like he thinks he is, especially with learning what he has gone through in his life. Abbie changed him. He didn’t like redheads until he met Abbie. Go, Abbie! You changed Gabe for the better and made him realize he’s not like his ruthless father.
Now, if you have not read the first book in the Dirtier Duet books then I highly recommend you do; otherwise, you will miss out on how Abbie won over Gabe and how a dog also won over Gabe too. I loved how Lisa Renee Jones tends to write in animals in her stories that steal the show from the main characters too. I loved the serial killer dog, Dexter who did not act like that at all with Gabe and Abbie. You’ll also learn who did the unthinkable at the end of the first book. (Sorry trying to not spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read the first book and this book yet.) This is a contemporary romance book, but there is suspense/mystery in the story since Lisa writes those elements so well into her books.
Here’s another thing I loved about this story and how all the characters from the Dirty Rich series and then Walker Security played a part on getting Gabe and Abbie together and solving the mystery in this book.
The only issue I had was the constant banter between Gabe and Abbie on wanting to run from each other, especially with scaring each other off. Gabe should’ve been upfront with Abbie with his past and Abbie should’ve been trusted Gabe and his family with helping her. There were constant trust issues between the two, but after getting some of the back stories of them when I finally understood. Although, Abbie did drive me crazy on trying to run away from Gabe. Girl…if you want to run, there are others that would line up for a chance to Gabe.
Story Rating: 4 stars
Steaminess Rating: 3 stars
Standalone or part of series: Sequel to the Dirtier Duet. Needs to be read in order.
Do I recommend this book? Yes.
Will I read other books from the author? Yes, definitely.
