An absolutely unputdownable new crime thriller from an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. Readers who love Robert Dugoni, Angela Marsons and Rachel Caine will be hooked until the final, jaw-dropping page.

Impossible to put down! The prose was engrossing and beautiful.
I received this book from NetGalley for free in exchange for an honest review. It was a good story. I liked the steps he investigation team took in finding the killer, especially the witness the thought was the killer. I only had a problem with the wife, her testimony, and she didn’t pass the lie detector test. Yet the team did not look into her past earlier. The parallel between Ross’s relationship with Lucy and Josie facing a possible pregnancy. Overall it kept you in suspense.
In this installment, Josie meets a man who works for her father at the park. Minutes later, his little girl goes missing from the carousel. Josie and her team, along with the FBI race to find her. The abductor one by one kills anyone close to the little girls mother. This is one of my favorite series and I anxiously wait for the next book.
The sixth book in Lisa Regan’s Josie Quinn series can be read as a standalone, but the other books in the series are not to be missed. In this book, Josie is called to the scene of a missing child. Lucy was on the carousel with her mom and just disappeared while her mom was getting off the ride. There are no clues, only a chilling note left in Little Lucy’s backpack. Colin and Amy, her parents, seem to be at a loss as to who would take her and why. But Josie doesn’t buy into their total innocence and continues to dig deeper. The character of Josie is very well developed in this book, but the rest of her team are kind of secondary characters, kept in the background as Josie does the heavy lifting of staying with the family. I did like the character of Trinity the best because she exhibits a wry sense of humor and is highly intelligent as she follows the clues that Josie gives her to follow. Regan shows her skill at drawing the reader into the story quickly and keeping you hooked throughout, with short chapters and tense action. I enjoyed this latest Josie Quinn book and look forward to more in the future as this one seems to set the scene for more of Josie’s life story to be revealed. Fans of police procedurals and mysteries will enjoy this book and crave more of Josie Quinn.

Her Silent Cry finds Detective Josie Quinn working a missing child case. When the case becomes an apparent abduction, Josie leaves no stone uncovered to find the truth when the child’s mother is covered with lies up to her neck. In typical Josie Quinn mystery fashion, the story draws you in and keeps you hanging on with every twist and turn. I love Josie’s dogged focus on the cases as her personal life just provides the background story that will always leave me coming back for more. My voluntary, unbiased review is base upon a review copy from Netgalley.
The Josie Quinn series gets better and better with every book! Just when you think this author can’t get any better, she outdoes herself again!
Such a brilliant, heartbreaking, and emotional read. As a mother, this wasn’t easy to get through, but as a reader, I devoured every. single. page.
The child abduction literally happens under Josie’s nose. With her sharp senses and keen eye, you expected her to figure it out quickly and find the little girl, but when she doesn’t, and the dead bodies start to pile up, it’s hard not to worry.
I didn’t think I could get more attached to these characters, but not only is Josie fighting to find and save this little girl, she’s also struggling with her own demons (which I won’t mention, so I don’t spoil it). These demons intensify the story tenfold! It makes you sympathize with Josie while rooting for her at the same time.
I can honestly say, I had no idea who the murder was or why these crimes were being committed until the author wanted me to know. It’s a masterfully crafted plot with more twists than a roller-coaster.
I want to make a request! Keep Amy Ross as a reoccurring character. I think she’d be an excellent addition to the cast of regulars and I can see her and Josie being friends, especially considering how much they have in common.
Her Silent Cry is a brilliantly plotted 5-star read. I couldn’t put it down—it’s Lisa Regan at her best!
Her Silent Cry is hands down Lisa Regan’s best yet! I probably say that with every book, but this one was set apart from the rest. Everything about this book was real and palpable and it took me back to her first work, Finding Claire Fletcher. Lisa is a master at thrillers and mystery, but in Her Silent Cry, she was also the master of emotions. She pulled the strings at all the right times, whether she wanted you angry, sad, scared, or empathetic. It is often hard for authors to do both well, but in this book, it arced flawlessly and it was over before you consciously realized it.
The mastery of the word and page is always Lisa’s, but this time you will feel the fear of a mother whose child was taken right before her eyes, and the guilt every parent would feel in that situation. If you read no other book of Lisa’s, read Her Silent Cry. When you’re finished take a moment to hug your children and have that discussion with them. The one about how to protect themselves from the very real threats Lisa is never afraid to tackle.
Detective Josie Quinn is the detective you want investigating your case. A little girl, Lucy, is missing. Josie was there in the Denton City park when the girl disappeared. The search is on as Josie and her team investigate every clue and video of the area. Was this a runaway or a kidnapping? When the case seems to suggest kidnapping, the police investigate every part of the parents’ lives, not knowing if the kidnapper is after money or targeting the parents. When it appears as if the kidnapper wants the mother to suffer, Josie tries to discover details of the mother’s past…details that she does not seem able to share. It is a race to find Lucy as innocent victims are killed as the kidnapper continues his quest for revenge. As they continue the search, they find small clues that Lucy is still alive which leads to the final gripping conclusion. A thrill ride from beginning to end as Josie pits her detective skills against an unstable man. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. She’s a beautiful little girl, 7 years old with bright eyes who giggles and skips instead of walking and has a love of butterflies. At the park with her mother, she wants to ride the carousel, but as the ride ends, Lucy disappears.
Detective Josie Quinn happens to be at the same park, babysitting a friend’s young son. She immediately goes into police mode, shutting the park down, calling for a lot of backup, setting up search teams and calling in the search dogs. But Lucy is gone.
As with all missing children cases, the police first look at parents, siblings, other family members and then going farther out …. teachers, friends, friend’s families. But it boils down to one family member who may have secrets … but do these secrets reveal a kidnapper?
This was a fast paced, well written story. Starting with a bang, the suspense doesn’t let up until the very last page. The characters are all finely drawn, the reader can feel the emotional upheaval coming in waves from the pages.
Although 6th in the series, this reads well as a stand alone. As usual, I highly recommend starting at the beginning so as to not miss those nuggets that make this a standout series.
Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Another amazing book in the Josie Quinn series! The mystery grabs you in from the start as a young girl, Lucy, somehow disappears before everyone’s eyes in a public park. One second she’s there on the carousel with her mother, the next – vanished. Even when Josie and her team discover how that part happened, it’s just the beginning and you are already hooked!
You’ll find yourself turning page after page to determine who took Lucy and why. Every time Lucy’s parents are contacted by the kidnapper, they quickly locate where the call came from and then happen upon a dead body.
Not just a random stranger, but a close friend of Lucy’s family. Everyone involved seems to have their own secrets and as the authorities get deeper into the kidnapping, more connections are discovered and more questions are raised.
I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this book. Side note that I’m happy Josie’s boyfriend Noah admitted how awful he was to her in the previous installment because that had bothered me! We also get to hear more about Josie’s fateful evening with Luke… I just can’t wait for the next book – Lisa Regan’s writing is seriously addictive!
Every parents nightmare happens when Amy and Colin Ross take their little girl Lucy to the park. Riding the carousel with her mom everything seems fine and they have fun, a normal day out. But then the unthinkable happens – Lucy disappears. Right in front of the eyes of her mother, father and all the other families. Josie is at the park too and it doesn’t take long and everybody is searching for the missing girl.
As usual I got drawn in to the story from the start, Lisa Regan’s writing does that to me. I never can’t wait for the next book coming out and always do a little happy dance when there is a release date. I couldn’t tell how it would play out and what secrets Amy had in their past. And it was heartbreaking. And after all this time she still thought it was her fault. Just heartbreaking.
This is book six in the crime thriller series, Detective Josie Quinn. Lisa Regan has, once again, gone above and beyond to create a piece that works well for both new and veteran fans. For those familiar with the series, the character arc that Regan has constructed for Josie Quinn can truly be appreciated in this book. She works her plot decisively, incorporating Josie’s personal conflicts into the story line at just the right moments as to not undermine the book’s primary plot. The twists and turns that Regan has developed are intriguing and thought-provoking. A hard book to put down. Great addition to the series. 5 stars.
Her Silent Scream by Lisa Regan
Detective Josie Quinn #6
Well written police procedural that sees Josie and her team looking for an abducted child plucked from a park. Lucy was on the carousel and then she wasn’t. Where did she go? Did she go willingly and if so, why? Many questions arise as the story unfolds and the race to save Lucy is paramount for the police force and the FBI team that comes to help.
This is not an easy book to read. Lucy was taken and whether or not she would survive was an unknown till the end. Lucy’s mother had secrets that impacted the situation – I really felt sorry for Amy. Josie, from what I picked up, also had a backstory that included being kidnapped and raised by someone other than her own family but missed that book and her meeting up with her family after considerable years. Many were murdered by Lucy’s kidnapper in his attempt to torture Lucy’s mother. It was convoluted and all became clear by the end. I felt sorry for the kidnapper in some ways but in others wish he could have been a better person in spite of his past.
This book was in many ways a straightforward police procedural with a bit of romance on the side and much teamwork by the police.
* Did I enjoy this book? Yes…eventually…had trouble getting into it and am not sure if that is because I had not read previous books or if perhaps I was not in the mood for this type of book today…not lighthearted and I might have preferred something easy-reading instead.
* Would I read more by this author/in this series? I believe I might.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Wow! What a thrill ride!
When seven-year old Lucy Ross is kidnapped from a local park, a twisted tale of horror and revenge is set in motion. Her mother, Amy was at the park with her daughter. They were riding the carousel when Lucy disappeared. Detective Josie Quinn is at the park with the three-year old son of a good friend when Lucy is taken. She immediately sets in motion an investigation into Lucy’s disappearance.
The reader gets sucked into the drama. This is not just another kidnapping story. It is a tale of surprises, twists and turns. When the FBI joins Josie’s team, the search team is greatly enhanced. They soon discover that Amy is not quite what she seems. She has secrets – many secrets.
People who know Amy and Lucy are being murdered. What is this kidnapper’s motive? What does he (or she), want? While Amy insists that she doesn’t know any more people who could be in danger, she is wrong. The surprises keep coming. I was literally glued to the pages of this book.
This is the story of a painstaking and step-by-step investigation into Lucy’s kidnapping. The FBI and the Denton City Police are very competent and professional. I enjoyed getting reacquainted with these people once again. I liked Josie and her boyfriend Noah’s relationship. We learn much about Josie’s personal life and her relationship with her sister. Very good stuff! The story is both well written and plotted. I kept trying to think of something else the police could have done to find Lucy, but Ms. Regan has all the bases covered. I believe this may well be the best novel that Ms. Regan has penned yet.
I want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for forwarding to me a copy of this engaging and entrancing book for me to read, enjoy and review.
Holy moly what a page turner. I think its my favorite now of the series because there was no man drama for Josie.. If your a fan of the series you will get why I am saying that 🙂
This was edge of your seat suspense from start to finish. A totally addicting story. Can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.
Josie Quinn you are my hero !!! 5 stars plus for this great read !!
I couldn’t swipe the pages fast enough, I tried to put Her Silent Cry down and get some sleep; that didn’t happen !!! Light was back on in 5 minutes , I just had to know what happened.
If I was ever in trouble either side of the law, I would call Josie Quinn and all the team.
Thanks again to Lisa Regan for another great book in this series.
Twists and turns to make your head spin.
Thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for another great read !!
Dont miss this series !!
Her Silent Cry by Lisa Regan is the sixth book in the Detective Josie Quinn series and it was too good to put down! I love the character of Josie Quinn and have enjoyed each book. Her Silent Cry is a non-stop search for missing seven-year-old Lucy Ross. How does a child go missing right in front of both her mother and father? It can be easier than you may think! The very sad memories of one of the characters are heartbreaking and hold a key to the whole mystery. I felt so aggravated at Amy’s reluctance to reveal her secrets and answer Josie’s questions about her past. There are so many things going on personally with Josie during the search for Lucy. I can hardly wait for the next book!
