Beautiful music and a tall, slender stunning white blonde—what a glorious sight and sound for Wax Mosby to regain consciousness to! Certain he’s died and gone to heaven, Wax will eventually learn he’s been found by the third and oldest of the Nordegren sisters, Ursula. Mary Connealy begins this third and final book in the Brides of Hope Mountain series with a rough and ready gunfighter and the extremely troubled sister who is scared to death to come off the mountain.
This witty, humorous story explores two very different people, both extremely interested in changing, as they find their way around all the complexities life hands them. Pick this one up, guys! A terrific conclusion to an absolutely unique and humor filled series! Mix in some romance along with a good sprinkling of faith and you have a read that will entertain you for hours.
This ARC copy was received from Bethany House Publishers and Netgalley.com. The above thoughts and opinions are wholly my own.

The stunning word visuals are so descriptive in Her Secret Song that readers can experience the frigid and treacherous mountains in the comfort of their own homes. Mary Connealy crafts a satisfying conclusion to the Hope Mountain set where storylines with surprises and twists delight readers.
Fiercely independent yet lonely Ursula, oldest Nordegren sister, finally learns that interdependence is the best way to live and love. We never know how truly alone we are until confronted with complete solitude. All members of the Nordegren-Warden family plus additional reinforcements must join the fight to save life and land against at least two groups of vicious, evil men.
Connealy beautifully crafts an historical world full of bravery and danger from elements, environment and harsh people. She also creates strong characters, both male and female, while filling her fictional tale with current life lessons.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
Ursula Nordegren is a woman who can stand on her own. Cabin fever begins to gnaw inside, so she begins to seek comfort in the small town of Bucksnort down from her mountain home. On the way down the mountain trail, Ursula meets a stumbling block in the way of her brave trek, Wax Mosby.
Wax carries his own secrets and wouldn’t like them spilled. What ensues is a rollicking reading ride in the pages of this third novel in the Brides of Hope Mountain series.
It can be read as a stand-alone, but treat yourself.
Find that hidden bit of chocolate in the pantry, we all have those, the ones the kids or hubby can’t partake in and read this book. Then, read the other stories about her younger sisters, Ilsa and Jo. They are full of love and adventure as well.
I received this book from the publisher and Netgalley but was under no obligation to write nor post a review.

This is a great ending to this series. I wasn’t sure I was going to care for Ursula before the I started to read this book. Her character was brought to life and explained in a way that I had to like her and want her to have a good life. Who would have thought that it would be with Wax Mosby! You really need to read the other two books in the series to find out why Wax is not someone you would have thought would have changed his ways. It just goes to show what God can do when he gets a hold of you.
I was given this book Bethany House Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
While not my favorite in the series, Her Secret Song still provides an entertaining adventure. Connealy knows how to thread action throughout her novels. Although it began a bit slow for her, with a recap from the previous book, it quickly picked up.
I wasn’t sure I completely bought the romance. It seemed to develop a bit too quickly. But I still rooted for them. As individual characters, they were great, but I wasn’t sure what made them a great couple. I still wanted a happy ending for them, though.
There wasn’t much to the spiritual arc in this book, besides Wax deciding to leave his past behind and Ursula deciding not to give into fear. I’m glad the issue about the two Bibles was settled in this book. That misunderstanding was getting a bit old. And an overarching question is finally answered. I won’t spoil the details, but it’s definitely worth sticking around for the epilogue.
You can read this novel as a standalone, but I highly recommend you read the books of the series in order. Connealy spends a lot of time setting up Ursula’s and Wax’s character arcs.
Overall, Her Secret Song is an enjoyable adventure for western romance and historical romance fans.
