This was a nice read. Like the other Hometown Grooms, this story follows a Texas Rebel football player. Shortly after the death of the team’s owner, several players decide to use their short break before Christmas and to “right a wrong” or fix a regret.
Austin knows his regret, letting his first love Angela Hathaway, go. There has never been anyone else but her. When Angela fails to interview Austin at a team’s party, her boss threatens to either fire her or she goes home to Frogwater and interview him. The road to Angela and Austin’s HEA is a heart-breaking one. Austin truly wants to know what went wrong. Why did she break up with him? In order to go through with the interview, Austin demands she go frog hunting with him. Over the course of several days doing the interview, Austin confronts Angela and asks for the truth. It was just an emotional roller-coaster.
I adored the dual POV format. Getting into the characters’ thoughts really brought me closer to them. I just adored Austin. I felt he was the perfect male protagonist.
This was an adorable sweet, clean second chance romance between a football player and a sports reporter. While you don’t have to read the other stories, I have read a few of them. They shouldn’t be missed either.
On a side note, I hope Ms. Adams does a series on Austin’s brothers. I would be first in line to read those!!
Wonderful story with great characters. Everyone has regrets in their past, and this book is about trying to fix Austin’s biggest one. Of course to do this he must first get Angela to face her past.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
This book warms you up as you read. Angela finds out life is easier when you let others in. She is only doing this interview with Austin so she does not loose her job. The road that took her out of Frogwater has now brought her back home. Can Austin honor the Christmas break pact with the team and fix a past regret? Find out when you read their story. Another great 2nd chance love story.
Well Ms. Adams really did it this time. This is a small rollercoaster ride with all the things that are revealed that you never see coming. It’s an awesome story about a football player and a sports interviewer and the tension and other things going on between them. There is so much going on that it’s hard to put this one down.
I really enjoyed reading this story and I think you will too. I love the hero to pieces. The heroine is sweet but a bit irrational at times.
Come see how these two work together in a one of a kind interview she has to get and if they can work out their differences and lead it to something permanent.
I am a beta reader for this author. I am giving my review although not at expected to but I wanted to give it as I really loved this story. There was no compensation for review or reading this.
I highly recommend this story as it take you on a journey to someplace you won’t expect.
I have certain expectations when I see Amelia C. Adams is the author of a book. This book met those expectations. The characters are well developed. After reading about them I wanted to visit with Austin’s family. No one dreamed when the team members agreed to spend their break righting a wrong in their past the emotions and actions that would come forth. Austin and Angela’s story brings forth sweetness and pain. I loved reading this story. I recommend this series and this book.
This book was a really great, quick read! I enjoyed the characters a lot. Their story was well written with struggles and strengths. I especially enjoyed some of the beautiful things the author wrote about intimacy, trust, and promises. It really was beautiful. This book is sweet, clean, and has a wonderfully happy ending.
I received a complimentary copy of the book. All opinions are my own and are expressed voluntarily.
I enjoyed reading this book!
Austin’s biggest regret is Angela.
He should have never let walk away.
Now, it was time to change that.
Her Second Chance Hometown Groom
is a feel-good & moving romance,
making it the perfect holiday read.
I loved everything about this Must
Read Story!!
I certainly enjoyed this story about Austin and Angela – high school sweethearts who left each other to go their separate ways and eventually come back together years later! Austin is a pro football player in Texas and happens to meet Angela again because she’s a sports reporter in the same place and he’s stunned to see her there. I can just imagine how that would be because they were from a very small town in Wyoming called, “Frogwater” – I can’t even imagine a town called that! Austin doesn’t understand why she left him and she doesn’t want to talk about it! I fell in love with Austin from the very beginning! He values family and God above everything else and is just the sweetest guy! It’s hard to imagine him as a pro football player! I love all the interaction with him and his family when he takes a holiday trip back to see his family. I wanted him to be my son! Angela has deep secrets and it takes a lot of love & patience on Austin’s part for her to share them. It’s a great holiday story that can be read any time of the year! (
