What a fun, clever, well-constructed cozy! Of course, it is Rhy Bowen’s writing, so that’s not surprising. I had hesitated to begin the series, not particularly excited to read about a “royal” — it just didn’t sound cozy — but Lady Georgiana is a wonderful character. Georgie to her friends, she is only half-royal. Not only is she a …
A refreshing change for the whodunnit genre, a heroine that’s funny in a slightly slapstick way.
I loved the peek into the life of a “minor royal.” She is a fun mixture of spunk and propriety. The mystery moved along well and the descriptions were really interesting.
The first of Her Royal Spyness–it hooked me and now I can’t get them fast enough. Georgie Ranoch is a pistol! She’s who I want to be when I’m a fictional character. Start here and read them all.
A fun light mystery- perfect for a quick, relaxing read.
The first in the series, this is a cute, light, cozy mystery. I enjoyed the characters and the setting, though the “mystery” is easy to figure out. A fast , fun read for Spring.
Love this series from Rhys Bowen. Historically accurate details, a little romance, a murder mystery…what could be better?
This series is a blast. It’s an interesting look at life in depression England. These are light reading mysteries.
I really enjoy this whole series
Fun way to keep busy flying cross country.
I love the author’s voice and style. She transports the reader to the setting and then weaves a good story.
Bravo. After the long history of the author, its as fresh and creative as always
This is just the beginning of a fabulous, entertaining series. Very witty. And the historical view from the English side is very interesting.
I love stories in this era and the author describes the surroundings and styles wonderfully. I couldn’t put it down.
This is really a review of the entire Royal Spyness series. They are SO MUCH FUN.
Enjoy the information about life in England prior to the war and the funny bits about the peerage.
Bowen weaves a good story using real figures from fhistory and her fictional characters. Very entertaining
Just a good read.Love it
Fun read.
I enjoyed everything about this book, the characters, the plot and the setting. Ms. Bowen captures the era brilliantly. Also I love that Georgie is a real person, with great sensibilities, she knows she has to fed for herself, but is just not sure how. Her initial awkwardness with life as a regular person is charming and you can’t help but root …
