Damaged heroes can be complex and beautiful. A child’s innocent love can lead to opening of hearts. A strong woman with the ability to empathetic is priceless. A book that ties this all together? Wonderful. Such is Suzanne Hart’s Her Rough Hero: A Military Single Dad Romance (Untouched Book 4). No surprise I highly recommend it.
A well written story with nice storyline and plot. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader a lot more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters and brings the story closer.
Likeable and well described characters who develops nicely through the story. A father that comes back from the Marines and the mother of his child leaves both of them. Now he has to settle and try to do his best for his daughter.
Romantic, sweet, hot and emotional read with unexpected twists.
Amelia works at a day care and is constantly waiting after hours for Kerry to pick up her daugter, Piper. Piper always seems so sad and lonely, she barely talks to anyone. She’s five years old and seems way too mature for her age and Amelia never sees any kind of affection between Piper and her mom, so she worries about Piper. When Piper doesn’t show up for day care one morning Amelia is a little concerned. After not seeing her all day she begins to really worry. Amelia decides to stop by Piper’s house just to assure herself Piper is okay. When she finds Cole, Piper’s dad there she’s confused because everyone in town said he ditched Piper and Kerry when Piper was just a baby. What was he doing back? Where is Kerry? What the heck is going to happen to Piper? All these questions are flying around in Amelia’s mind, all while she’s thinking Cole is the most handsome man she’s ever seen. Grab this book today to find out what happens. With Cole’s messed up past and Amelia’s psycho ex-boyfriend will anything be able to develop between these two people? Read the story to find out!

This was such a perfect book! I loved every single page. It was a heartwarming tale of love. This one is most definitely going into my library. It is a keeper. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
A Single Dad Romance
A different view of a single dad who is haunted by vivid horrors while in the war. Having these feelings of guilt weighing on him holds him back from opening up completely to Amelia in having a relationship plus figuring out how to be a dad to a 5-yr. old. I like how the author has included complications into Cole’s & Amelia’s friendship such as Cole’s baby mama & Amelia’s ex-boyfriend, Nathan. Twists & turns with surprises. Cole may have had some tough decisions to make in a 5-yr span of time but Amelia has been helpful & influential in his life & Piper (his daughter).
I would recommend this book as you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!

An awesome love story
Her Rough Hero by Suzanne Hart is truly an awesome love story with tons of great elements! I love the single dad aspect, reading how Cole naturally fathers Piper with love and nurturing. Then there’s Amelia, Piper’s advocate! Everyone thinks she’s butting where she doesn’t belong, but Piper so needed her to!
I’m a sucker for humble military heros and that is Cole to a T. He struggles with indistinct memories, fearing the worst of himself and ultimately unworthy of anyone’s love, even his own daughter.
I was captivated by Cole, Piper and Amelia. The chemistry between Cole and Amelia was palpable and their relationship hard won. Other characters (Piper’s mom, Amelia’s sister) are just as well developed, but their behaviors and actions less than desirable!
Overall a well written and thorough book that does justice to Piper, as well as Cole and Amelia, including the must have HEA.
I read an ARC of the book via Booksprout and voluntarily share my review.
He hates the town and they hate him. He is only there for his child her and when he sees her wow. She makes him forget what he did in the war. He hates it and he thinks others will hate what he did for his country. Can she help him? Can he overcome it all? Follow him and see

Cole comes back from war damaged and in pain. All he wants is a normal relationship with his daughter, Piper, but can he get over his demons in order to be the father that he wants to be and that Piper deserves. Amelia has a special connection with Piper and when Cole comes back on the scene their attraction is undeniable but with Cole’s issues their path will not be an easy one.
The characters are well-crafted and the author deals with the sensitive issue of the issues that returning service personnel deal with and the difficulties they face integrating back into civilian life. The characters are well-crafted and their story is heartwarming and deeply emotional.
An awesome book. Extremely entertaining, captivating, and interesting read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong and intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

ONE MAGNIFICENT ADVENTURE!!!
Man, talk about hitting the ground running. This is one exciting, action packed, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning, smooth flowing read that captivates from the start. All the twists and turns along with a few glitches here and there make for one incredible experience. The characters are so realistic and believable it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The two main characters have an instant connection and sizzling chemistry. Her Rough Hero
By Suzanne Hart
Main Characters: Cole & Amelia
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
Cole had a one night stand and ended up with a daughter, whom he left with her mother and he went to join the marines. Now he is back after 5 years with PTSD and needs to get to know his daughter Piper. Amelia works at a child care center and tries to look after the young child when she sees how shy & quiet she is. I like my H to be a little more alpha than Cole was which seemed like low self esteem stemming from his injuries and flashbacks from his tour overseas. I really disliked how he called his daughter kid all the time instead of using her name. The book had a twist I didn’t see coming and had a hea ending. I will read more by this author.
Cole left down as soon as his daughter was born to join the marines. He has been gone for 5 years and has seen the worst a war can show you. Now he is back to see his daughter and then leave again to find whatever this world is pulling him towards. He didn’t expect the little girls mother to ditch her with him leaving on her own adventure. He also never expected to find Amelia and all she is trying to do to save his little girl some heartbreak.
Amelia has no idea what is pulling her towards Piper, all she knows is she would do anything to protect this little girl. Her father, on the other hand, has all the draw in the world and she knows exactly why.
Cole has to live down the memories of his past, while Amelia’s past is currently stalking her. Her sister has hard opinions of what she thinks Amelia should do with her life and her mother is in an assisted living facility not knowing who she was. Can they make a life together work for each other and for Piper?
This story has some good dimension to it but sadly just didn’t hold my attention. The writing style just didn’t grab me in a positive way and I found myself skimming most pages. For that reason I can’t rate higher than a 3 star. I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them, so I will continue to read her writings without concern. I received an advance copy from booksprout without expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.
The book is fantastic, brilliantly written and emotionally deep. An on the edge of your seat read! An amazing storyline with lots of ups and downs. Loveable, deep, and broken characters with the chemistry between them instant, off the charts and undeniable. The plot is consistent, relatable, engaging, and will grip you from beginning to end. It is an emotionally deep, drama-filled read. A truly enjoyable read and it is highly recommended.

A great story about a man who returns home and tries to bond with his child while dealing with his demons and a woman who loves this child and wants to see them both succeed. Amelia and Coles story is heartwarming and Piper is a sweetie. There are many obstacles and misunderstandings to go through, but it is all worth it in the end. The characters are well written and I found myself rooting for Cole to get himself together. I received this as an ARC for my honest review.
