AMAZING. I read it in one go. I was totally hooked.
A superior psychological thriller with an intriguing set-up, a flawed heroine and some great twists. Recommended!
Wow!!! That’s several hours of my life I will never get back again. I’ve already wasted more time on this book, I don’t even want to waste more by going into a long review of why I didn’t like it so I’ll just say this: BORING & STUPID!!!
Very intriguing book. You will find that the pace and tone change quite often so be prepared for that. I found that the ending was a bit anti-climatic but didn’t change my overall opinion of the book too much. Some characters I liked and some I didn’t but overall I quite liked this book. It won’t be for everyone though. Still well-worth a read to give it a try.
A story of how lives can change in a moment, how an action by one can affect the lives of many others. Good suspense. Great characters. Good description of the love, albeit sometimes twisted, the sadness, and also the hopes and dreams people have for a happier life. A very well written easy to follow story.
Emily steps off an elevator behind a young woman pushing a baby buggy. Then she watches in horror as the mother steps into a crosswalk and is struck by a speeding car. She is killed instantly but the baby was spared. Her name was Rose.
Emily is such a believable character, she could be a coworker or a friend of a friend. She is young. She is fragile. But she knows how to act like a normal person and she knows which of her impulses she shouldn’t share. One of those impulses is her obsession with Rose’s death and the perfect life she had lead, as documented on Facebook.
That author’s hallmark is writing a psychological thriller in which normal people do normal things yet the threads of their stories weave together in an ever-more intensely suspenseful story. I cannot say anything more without spoiling the story. Suffice it to say: the plot twists are organic. The characters are believable. The ending is satisfying.
It was interesting trying to figure out the real crazy person.
I didn’t hold much hope for the main character until the end…
I couldn’t finish it. Too predictable. Im going to slip to the end and see if i was right
A most bizarre tale yet simultanieously entertaining. It’s outside my idea of “realistic” because I could never imagine being quite so … bizarre or naive as the main female character; but it is well-written and I did enjoy it as an easy read.
Great book! I can’t wait to read the next one by this author!
This story kept my interest from the first page….
Very good book though predictable
A powerful and emotional psychological thriller that will keep you guessing and leave you breathless.
An intriguing and menacing page turner.
A psychological thriller with a heart: taut, emotionally challenging and unlike so many thrillers, each twist and turn is here because it deserves to be and not for the sake of it.
Mesmerizing to the point of complete distraction. I was totally engrossed in this book.
I loved it. The plot is twisty and the issues being dealt with here are big scale but told beautifully through Emily. Her envy and confusion is so real as to be palpable and of course, all too relatable. Creepy and weepy.
I devoured it in a couple of days. Claire Allan managed to maintain an unsettling sense of unease that started at the very beginning and didn’t let up at all.
Utterly addictive! Literally couldn’t put it down all day! Compulsive, twisty, tense. And LOVED the ending.
