I was a Courtesan. It was in an art gallery where I first met the man who would steal me away.Ours was not a healthy relationship.People would claim to be a Courtesan makes me weak.I would tell them that to be Aiden’s Courtesan, you must be strong. That is what it means to live my life. That is what it means to submit fully. That is what it means to be a Courtesan.Aiden believed I wasn’t strong … Courtesan.
Aiden believed I wasn’t strong enough to overpower him.
He believed I wasn’t smart enough to play his game.
It’s finally my turn to take control.
It’s my chance to prove to Aiden that all his beliefs are…
…WRONG.

I loved the book but those twists right at the end totally left me in an ‘OMG what did I just read’ moment
The only other Lily White book that I’ve read was Wishing Well , which broke my heart and exploded my mind with it’s twistyness. So I was taking rather a chance on this, since it is the continuation of Aiden and Rebecca’s story, which I was unfamiliar with. I can tell you now that I easily read this as a stand alone. Yes knowing the entire backstory might have enhanced the read, but I still found it one amazing, mesmerising and absolutely brilliant story anyway. There are some spoilers I guess but I know I can read those books and still be able to enjoy them.
Aiden was a manipulative b*$tard, however he was so blinkered by his own power that he underestimated maybe not so much Rebecca’s strength but her resolve. He was also blinkered to the very evident truths of his and Rebecca’s stuttering relationship. So used to always being in charge and engineering his own way, by whatever means necessary, Aiden made bad choices for maybe good reasons.
Despite her role as a courtesan Rebecca IS strong, my word she found strength even when there seemed to be no hope or no point. She played mind games against the best, and learnt some shocking truths along the way.
This pair had scorching chemistry, and despite not having read their previous two books, I still believed both in them and in their connection with each other. In some ways I’d expected more sex than we got, but it wasn’t needed and what we did get was powerful, erotic and hot enough to burn.
I can’t finish the review without circling back to that epilogue. Bravo Ms White, I totally didn’t see that coming, despite the very obvious pointers throughout the story. It made my smile, it warmed my dark little heart and it very definitely placed this as one of my favourite reads of the year. It also consolidated the knowledge that I need to read the rest of this author’s books too.
Her Master’s Courtesan, but with a strange post-#MeToo Sentiment
*self-purchased/read on KU. No need of sugar daddies called promo teams*
What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Aiden and Rebecca don’t have a healthy relationship. Aiden thinks he has the upper hand. Rebecca will prove him wrong.
I call this Dark Romance but post-#MeToo. I have now read three books by Lily White and I will admit that she’s a badass writer who goes places only few people dare to touch upon. As with Courtesan, I was unable to put the book down. The darkness continued, but I have to say this book was less eventful than
I skipped the rest of the series after Courtesan, but now I’m thinking of reading Anthony’s story because he was an intriguing lil ballbuster in Reckoning. Since I haven’t read Anthony’s story in Her Master’s Redemption, I don’t know exactly what to think of him. I want to paint him as one of the angel’s of Reckoning, but I’m also wary.
I liked the premise of this instalment although I found myself not caring about the Master drama earlier on. When Christopher entered the story, I felt like he had lots of potential. I was let down with how things ended. It was a little too much of a puppet-master type of a situation when I had expected something different. (This might change when I read Anthony’s story).
Rebecca has evolved from book one up until now and she evolved throughout this novel, too. She had some GLORIOUS moments. Becky with the good hair SNAPPED. I rooted for her, but, simultaneously, I felt like I was being morally awful by condoning what she did. Then, I remembered that she didn’t ask for this; in a way, she’s been brainwashed and coerced into this situation. Her ending was a bit anti-climactic for my tastes, but that’s just the millennial snowflake in me.
Regarding Aiden, he had it too easy, that’s just my humble opinion. We could’ve gained a lot as readers from a pique into their life post final chapter. I hope that the events in The Danger You Know really REALLY make him previous regret his decisions in life. He wasn’t as cruel as I remembered him from book one. He seemed broken down most of the book, but the man is so secretive, you can’t even enjoy him being broken down over shit. Like. WTF.
I recommend this to anyone who has no limits/triggers with books. Rebecca and Aiden aren’t healthy and you need to be in a good mental state to read about their tragic story (Aiden created this drama all by himself, SHOTS FIRED).
As all the “Dark” authors write books that push boundaries, shock readers and carefully stretch limits, all this while the REAL QUEEN just smirks, perched on the top of the mountain.
THEN she releases her book and BAM …… Bookworld learns a lesson !!
THAT’S how a dark book is written
THAT’S how an evil alpha MASTER is created
THAT’S how you a real Dom/Sub relationship is balanced.
I’m in AWE!!
Her Raven black heart is full of variegated stories. Twisted mindfuck is her trope and deranged characters with all the shades of black her trademark. I could never in a million years imagine my self falling in love with Aiden…..but I embarrassingly, shamefully DID!!!
This story has swallowed me whole! I’m submerged and devoured absolutely, and I’m happy being buried alive, no rescue required!!
What a fabulously complex story about a submissive who stumbles upon Real Love and a Dom who can’t even spell the word.
It takes strength to love a Master such as Aiden. Not just strength of mind. Not just strength of will. Not just strength of body. But mostly strength of heart.
The relationship or if it can even be called that, is at an impasse. Ennui, boredom has crept like vines and choked them. I think it’s ran it’s course. Brilliant masterstroke by Aiden to challenge Rebecca and she rises majestically to the occasion.
A true Queen is born. She learns and follows, notices and records, devises and enacts all the markings and makings of a Dom Master. It’s a fantastic game of Dodge & Parry that they play.
We were playing a slow game of chess, my rook sliding left, his queen moving just out of range. I’d align his king before too long.
Certain scenes just had me agape. The scenes between Aiden & Rebecca especially when he’s teaching her were unbelievable. Hell sure hath frozen over, pigs certainly learnt to fly cause Lily made such blindsiding moves, I couldn’t believe what I was reading.
Lily is ALWAYS in control over her actors. The authors who generally tout that the characters made them do certain things, or they have their own mind, or they chart their own course…. not Lily.
“I’ve stripped you of your armor and I’ve stripped you of your sword. You’re vulnerable, you’re unable to fight, what do I do with you now?”
She places them where she wants, they move and act at her discretion and permission. Her characters are true to their form till the very end. No sudden changes of heart, no u-turns of behaviour and no changing trajectories. This is a mark of a bona fide Master, cause I believe an Aiden resides inside of Lily. Unbending, stubborn, unmoving.
So many layers created this mess of a situation, so many intricate knots tied the rope binding my hands while also binding hers.
Back to the story. The see-saw of situations, push & pull of emotions keep you guessing till the last moment. The end comes out of the extreme left and whacks you in the face…i was like W.T.F!!! Couldn’t believe what happened, who was playing who and how was the story gonna move from this dead end. You have to read it to see the masterful plotting that hides nuanced sentiments and bold moves all in the same chapter. Aiden surprised me, Rebecca stunned me and you will not believe who emerged as the real Master!!!
I think this is the BEST of the series!.
5 stars for calling Mommy
This was a follow up of Aiden and Rebecca. After 5 years together things are stale between them. A wicked game of cat-and-mouse ensues. Both trying to gain the upper hand, both trying to make the other beg.
This story has dark themes and is not for everyone, but if you don’t mind a little pain with your pleasure, then you won’t be disappointed.
The fourth book is this amazing series will not disappoint – Lily White plays her minds games well in, Her Master’s Reckoning, Master Aiden is known for being the top of his game and alongside him kneels his stunning Courtesan Rebecca.
However…. is Rebecca everything he boosts her to be and will the game finally bring him to his knees ?
Everything you love about this series and so much more, surprises and Masters new and old join in this epic fourth book.
’ve said it from the day I read Her Master’s Courtesan…The Society is a messed up, head game society! One that I love reading about. This book Her Master’s Reckoning was just what we needed. Filled with the mind games that Aiden is known for tossing out to us, the readers.
It’s been 5 years since the day Aiden acquired his pet, Rebecca. She has been the perfect courtesan for Aiden. Boy has Rebecca grown since the day she became a courtesan!
Now she has everything in place to play the game that Master Aiden is so good at playing… But will she succeed in earning the title that Master Aiden has always bragged about. That his pet is so well trained that she can be the perfect submissive AND she is also so well trained that she is ready to take on her own courtesan earning her the title of Master.
While this is a page turner of a book, there is also a fantastic love story here. Five years of being with someone, feelings develop. More than once Rebecca has told Aiden that she loves him. Yet after all these years, he has not said it once to her.
The cards are all shuffled, and the game is ready to be played. Will the Master eat his words or will a new Master be crowned and finally be freed? This book was everything! What a ride Lily White has taken us on with all the books in this series. A perfect ending to a perfect story!

This is so bittersweet! I hate to see this series end. But what an ending!!!! OMG! I loved every minute of it. The battle of wills between Aiden and Rebecca. The admittance of truths. I love these two. Lily White’s writing is just fantastic!
Breathtaking, thrilling, and enticing, Her Masters Reckoning will captivate you from start to finish. What a wonderful ride this series has been! I can’t wait to see what Lily White brings us next!
