Piper Delaney keeps men – Dominants in particular – at arm’s length. There are dark secrets in her past that have been keeping her from willingly submitting, or forging any type of intimate relationship with anyone. That all changes when she is hired to photograph Pleasure Island for a brochure and she runs headlong into Theo, a man who stirs her body and challenges her lonely existence.Theo … existence.
Theo Brown is a lead solicitor who hasn’t ever found someone he wanted to keep. Most were rather dull and insipid once he got them out of their knickers. Then he runs into the sexy as hell Piper, a professional photographer on assignment and she makes him burn with desire for her.
When Piper asks Theo to pose for her, he turns the tables and makes a proposition: Agree to be his while they are on the island and at the end of the week, they go their separate ways. No harm, no foul, no attachments. Sparks fly when Piper hesitantly agrees.
But what starts as a simple arrangement morphs into something a lot deeper as Piper surrenders more than just her body to Theo’s skillful mastery. When her secret is revealed, will it tear their fledgling relationship apart? Or will Theo be able to convince Piper that he should be hers forever?
Publisher’s Note: This dramatic, sexy tale is the fourth book in Anya’s bestselling Pleasure Island series. While we do recommend reading all of them, it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

This book is so steamy and emotional.
This book isn’t the easiest to read but it so very worth all the tears, angst, and outright feels. Piper is an amazing photographer hired to work for Jared as someone who is also a member of one of the clubs. Having someone aware of the lifestyle and rules makes keeping a lid on things much easier. And she’s looking forward to a little downtime on the island too. Then comes in Theo who is an attorney for the clubs and a Master himself… and “old-school” Master at that. The heat between Piper and Theo is confusing for both at first. It’s an amazing story.
Again, it deals with the BDSM lifestyle and it’s many, many variations so if that’s not for you don’t read this book. But, this whole series has been amazing and this book is no different.

A stirring love affair
This is book 4 of the Pleasure Island series. Piper is a woman with a devastating event in her past. Theo is a fixer. These two are a perfect match but can they get past their pasts! As the saying goes once hurt twice shy, and Theo has for so long kept everyone at arms length he doesn’t know if he can get close. There’s something about Piper though that makes him want to. Piper is more cautious ever since the event that devastated her life. She has kept to herself and just pursued her photography career. But there’s something about Theo that makes her want to submit. They strike a deal but can this deal last for more than just one week. Love Anya’s telling of the couple’s stories. Again the heroine is anything but a one-dimensional character. The Dom, Theo, is man of thoughtfulness and understanding for his Sub. This is in the BDSM genre so be prepared for adult themed play. Loved this book!
Her Lawful Master is probably the best Anya Summers story I have read to date. It’s what all the other stories of hers I’ve read should have been, what I’ve been waiting for from her.
Piper is Pleasure Island’s newest photographer. Jared has hired her to create a brochure on the island to help its expansion into new markets. When she meets Theo again, Jared’s solicitor who’s on the island to firm up Jared’s plans for his new beautiful sub, Naomi, the flames are sparked. But one feisty encounter later, Piper’s doubly sure the gorgeous Brit Dom is not the man for her, no matter that Theo has decidedly opposite plans for her.
I loved Her Lawful Master. It’s super steamy, yes, but what’s so great about it is that the all too important emotional component is truly front and present in Theo and Piper’s relationship. She has a traumatic past that Theo wants to help her heal from. I like the way Anya dealt with her past. It is deftly handled, never crossing the line into gratuitous detail and over the top melancholy, but with honest realism of what a survivor of a horrific rape must deal with on a daily basis. Add to that Theo’s presentation as a truly alpha Dom with a big heart, and yet realistic flaws and faults, and the result is a fabulous story with heart and heat. Bravo to Anya for this heartfelt, emotional, sexy story.
This is a great book with in-depth character building. I really could relate to Piper. This book as a little less dominance and submission than I like – but still thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s a great book 4 of the series.
As much as I love this author, and love love love this series, this book just didn’t really hit a home run for me. I thought Theo came off as a jerk – both in the way he treated Piper and his history with his ex-wife – and he really danced back and forth across the line of safe and consensual. I loved Piper’s character and could really feel her pain. This author really does know how to bring characters to life. In this particular installment, the conflict that Piper had to deal with could have – really, should have – been handled with a lot more care and the ever-important consent. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
What I enjoyed about this book was Piper and her absolute love and passion for her works and her strength. What happened to her was horrible, but she survived.
Theo was portrayed as someone who was a stickler for the rules, but when handling Piper he didn’t keep to SSC. I had expected him to go through the rules and limits before doing anything. I did enjoyed his devoting to his son.
