Cheyenne must trust Quint completely while she gathers the proof of steroid abuse in time for the next horserace. Deep down she believes Quint is a good man, but she knows if he’s pushed too far, he might kill again. And Quint will do whatever it takes to protect her, but if he loses control of his anger a second time, he’ll risk far more than jail.

I enjoyed this fast-paced story. Former Army CSM Quint Porter wants to work on the ranch and live peacefully after his time in jail. Dr. Cheyenne Locklear wants to stay alive and bring down a powerful, corrupt man. She brings trouble to Quint’s life and his protective instincts kick in. Calling in a favor to the Brotherhood Protectors obligates him to join the team. A story full of suspense, drama, and romance. Cheyenne and Quint are great together. I recommend this book.
Quint is trying to adjust after being out of prison, he was in when he killed a man while attacking a woman. So he’s working on a ranch and just wants to be left alone. That is until Cheyenne sneaks into his barn and steals his horse. She’s a vet and trying to expose someone for injecting horses before their races. Now she’s on the run and trying to stay alive until she exposes the man.
Fast paced enjoyable read. Cheyenne and Quint make a great team with plenty of chemistry. Quint has a past he is working to overcome. Cheyenne is a vet taking the moral high road. Together with the help of some friends from the brotherhood they may just save the day.

** spoiler alert ** Cheyenne is determined to prove that someone is doing wrong. Quint likes his quiet life. One night changes everything Will they succeed? Will they realize there is more to the other than they thought?
I loved how despite what others thought, Quint was a good man. Cheyenne was definitely strong, and while I thought she was stupid at times, I loved how she was determined to prove who was wrong. Good read and cannot wait to read more from this author!
I received a free copy through Hidden Gems and I voluntarily chose to review it. This is a quick easy read. It is well written. I loved the characters, they have some flaws but they are unique. This is the first Stacey Wilk book I have read but it will not be the last. I am a fan of the Brotherhood Protectors. This is worth you time and effort. This is one you need to give a chance.
IT TAKES A MATTER OF DANGER FOR REAL EMOTIONS TO SURFACE
Quint, an ex-con because he protected a woman from being abused, is free and Cheyenne, a vet who is unwilling to inject horses with steroids are forced to be together. They begin to find out about themselves, their families and each other. This leads to adventure, intrigue and death threats. A very well put together narration of protection and insight as to how far one will go for love.
I received this ARC for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
The Brotherhood.
Cheyenne Locklear has one major problem that could mean the end of her life. Quint Porter enters her life when a horse gets stolen and in the end, he is there for her. Now his problem is an anger issue. He may want to do everything he can for Cheyenne but if he goes too far he might be facing a very serious challenge. There were great characters in this book, with so much action and suspense, plus I just have to give a big cheer for the ending. I loved the book and highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This has action, suspense, danger, racetrack horse dopping and so much more. Cheyenne Locklear is a veterinarian in Montana. She refused to commit a crime for Tucker Gray so he sent his men to get rid of her. Quint Porter is the head rancher for Ty Weston. He has worked at The Weston Ranch since he was released from prison. The Brotherhood Protectors want him to join their team. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A fast moving story to keep you on your toes. Cheyenne is running from the guys trying to kill her for not doing their bidding. Quint is just trying to stay under the radar and live a quiet life. Having to rescue Cheyenne puts him in the spotlight which he doesn’t want. The action is constant as they only have limited time to achieve their goals. It is a smoldering tale as being in close contact allows these two to acknowledge the feelings they have always had for each other. A great addition to the series.
While I really enjoyed this story, I felt vaguely let down by the ending, and I’m not sure why. Throughout the book, though, Quint is a great character, and his character is built through bits of information from his past and his behaviour in the present. Cheyenne is less appealing to me, but her courage is unmistakable. There is heat, and there is great suspense, and I recommend that you read it to see if you agree with me . Seriously, this is a great addition to the Brotherhood Protectors world, and the brief glimpse of Hank and the involvement of Jax cement it there.
