What is Tessa supposed to do when an old flame and a surprise new baby turn up on the same day? Brilliant engineer Tessa Fuller has the opportunity of a lifetime at work, and all she needs to change the world is a little help from her old college friend, Ethan Bedford.Ethan can give her five weeks before he’s off to chase his own dreams, and when they meet again for the first time in six years, … for the first time in six years, Tessa realizes the gawky guy she graduated with has grown into a super hot tech genius.
Just as she’s on the verge of a fun, short-term fling to discover once and for all what-might-have-been, her wayward sister drops a baby on her doorstep and disappears, leaving Tessa to take care of the kid.
One huge problem: Tessa doesn’t know a thing about babies. And she doesn’t have time to learn while the clock is running out on her dream project at work.
But Tessa’s team is determined to show her that she’s not alone, and while they might be clueless about babies, they know a thing or two about engineering. As their baby “hacks” and inventions get progressively wilder, Tessa is less and less sure she really can have it all. And the first thing she has to give up is Ethan.
Except Ethan isn’t a quitter. And he’s not about to give up on Tessa, not when the flame that flickered between them in college gets fanned back to life.
Can a team of hilarious engineers, one sweet baby, and a handsome blast from her past open Tessa’s heart to new love and second chances?

There was so much more to this book than I expected when I first started reading it and I loved it so much! Ethan and Tessa are fantastic characters. I love that the story is told from both of their perspectives and how that helped me know their head and their hearts. Calvin was such a fun plot twist and I completely enjoyed how the engineering team became a family to help Tessa figure baby life out. The humor was spot on and anyone who knows an engineer will especially appreciate how well this book pegs them. Great clean romance, definitely glad I picked this one up!
Embracing Her Ever After is such a cute story! I loved reading about the 5 engineers figuring how to keep a baby happy using all of their engineering equipment and know-how. Tessa is such a great character and I loved how Brenna Jacobs developed her relationship with Ethan as the sands of time ran out. Definitely a must-read as I kept laughing out loud and could not put it down.
I loved this story! It has so much more depth than the cover indicates. Although it also has fun and humor as well 😉 Tessa and Ethan are so good together! They are both highly intelligent, driven, and confident engineers. It was eye-opening to see a bit of how a branch of that industry operates, the mix of creativity, innovation, pragmatism, and solution-finding. The new spark of attraction in an old friendship brings the anticipation of potential romance, but the short-term nature of Ethan’s assignment puts a damper on things. Throw in an unexpected baby, and you would think that would put an end to things, but it only provided an impetus to bring them closer together- for Ethan to encourage and support Tessa, and for her to see a deeper side of him. Their relationship develops naturally with a few bumps along the way, but the tension and anticipation made the chemistry that much stronger. I absolutely loved how each member of Tessa’s team had such unique personalities and their own way of showing they care through finding solutions in their own special ways. Ethan’s mom was a fun addition to the story and I loved their close relationship. This story was a pleasure to read and it’s one I already want to read again!
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
What is better than Three Men and a Baby? Five Engineers and a Baby!
This delightful, funny, and heart-warming story is (so far 😉 ) my favorite in the series.
I simly love the characters: Tessa and Ethan make a great team, first as friends, but just as well as a couple later. Add to that the rest of the quirky engineering team doing their pragmatic and hilarious best to support Tessa and her surprise addition to the family-slash-team, and Ethan’s mom who provides not only a much needed baby support hotline but is an all-around lovely person (can I adopt her?).
Looking forward to reading more in the series, though this one will be a tough act to follow.
I’m a sucker for a good romance. I love it when they have a plot that draws you in and great characters. This one by Brenna Jacobs has all of that! And another thing I really love is that this is a series, but they don’t need to be read in any particular order. That’s the best!
This one features Tessa and Ethan. They knew each other in college. Now they’re both engineers and they are going to be working together. I loved the way these two were attracted to each other from the very beginning. They were just hilarious together, because they’re both engineers. They’re both very math brained. Sometimes that makes things funny!
One of the best things about this book is when Tessa’s sister, Rachel, showed up. She just left her 5 month old with Tessa. That makes things a bit crazy for the single Tessa. She’d never really been around a baby, and now she has to care for one. Luckily Ethan saved the day by knowing about babies.
The plot of this one was awesome! It was so funny to see the whole team of engineers in this one go nuts over one little baby. I loved the way they came up with all kinds of inventions to care for him. And they way they banded together.
Of course, there’s romance too! And I loved every little bit of this book! Make sure to get it for yourself!
I was sent an e-copy of Embracing Her Ever After as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
The romance was sweet and the couple were good together. The story has a nice flow. I enjoyed the secondary characters. They were fun to read just as much as the h & H. Some of the engineering references went over my head, lol. They weren’t tedious or boring. Everything made the story and people authectic and come to life. I never did like the h’s sister. I thought she was selfish and rationalized her behavior. Overall, the book was good and the author can craft a well written story. I do appreciate the book was kept clean. My only caveat is when the H didn’t offer to carry the baby carrier because it was sexist. No, it’s chivalry and being polite. I read to escape the social commentary and p.c. of the day so that threw me off a bit.
If you haven’t read any of the books in this series, you really should- especially if you enjoy light, happy romances. This book is definitely the funniest of the books so far. I was entertained by the characters in Tessa’s workplace. They fight over who gets to “wear the baby”. It’s so funny. Maybe it’s even more funny to me because I am married to an engineer and so many stereotypes are so true.
Tessa and Ethan have history. It makes navigating feelings and a new chapter in their relationship tricky because they aren’t who they once were but some of the feelings are the same. Even though neither one of them wants to own up to them. Tessa is a stubborn girl! Her childhood history provides a few bumps in her road with Ethan. Ethan is a champ though- he really steps up (and aside) when needed. I loved him. I also loved that he listened to his mother! What a good boy.
This was a fun addition to this series and I think my favorite so far!

4.5 stars
Tessa and Ethan were great friends when they were at Georgia Tech getting degrees in engineering, but haven’t been in touch for the past 6 years. Tessa’s on a deadine and hires Ethan to work with her team for the next six weeks. Before they even get a chance to work together Tessa’s younger sister, Rachel drops in with a bombshell. Well, this bombshell is four months old, named Calvin, and is about to turn Tessa’s life on its ear.
This was such a fun story to read. There were hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud (like grown men fighting over who gets to ‘wear the baby’), fun scenes (who can build and IKEA chair faster), tender moments (when Ethan’s mom comes to town to help out) and everything in between. The two main characters had great chemistry, but didn’t know how to communicate with each other very well. The supporting characters (Mary, Darius, Sanjay, and Ethan’s mom) were great! I loved them all. I loved how everyone helped out in their own way with Calvin. Thank goodness for Google and the internet.
I’m enjoying this series, which doesn’t have to be read in any order because they’re all standalones. I think this one would make a great romantic-comedy movie and since it’s a clean romance it would be perfect for a Hallmark movie.
