Can he mend her heart?Forty-two-year-old Dina has been a widow for a few years, but as far as her heart is concerned, she lost her husband only a few days ago. Her sister knows that if she doesn’t do something drastic, Dina is going to end up spending the rest of her days alone, and that would just compound the tragedies in her life.So her bratty younger sister decides to do something about that … something about that – especially since the small motel her sister and brother-in-law ran together desperately needs a handyman. After all, this is the perfect example of killing two birds with one stone.
Enter Garrett, who is just about the furthest thing from your typical Mr. Fixit as any one man can be. But he’s tall and muscular and gorgeous – and about seven years younger than Dina, none of which are things that endear him to her.
But as soon as he lays eyes on her, Garrett knows Dina is the woman for him.
Unfortunately, convincing her of that isn’t going to be easy.
Publisher’s Note: This steamy contemporary romance contains power exchange scenes.

Dina lost her husband three years ago, so the motel they ran is in disrepair and needing work. Her sister puts an ad on Craigslist and Garrett answers, remembering fond memories of staying there when younger. The chemistry between them is steamy but she still holds back in regards to her passed husband. They take time to learn about each other and slowly she lets him into her life. The storyline has plenty of tense situations and arguments, surprises and changes of heart. Loved the characters and how they changed and accepted the possibilities they had. The ending was great.

A quick and entertaining read. The story flows well, it is fast paced and the characters are likeable. This is a story of getting over someone and moving onto their next chapter. A great read.
Steamy older woman, younger guy romance. I really liked Dina and Garrett’s story. A gorgeous sexy hunk of a younger man falling for a repressed widow seven years older than him. Th dynamic between them right from the start is interesting and becomes really hot as their relationship becomes physical. My only hesitation in giving it 5 stars was there was a bit too much dom/sub action for my tastes, but each to his own. If that’s your sort of thing you’ll love this book.
loved it !!! love Garrett !!! swoon…OMG !!! love Dina… this is their story… when an ad for a handyman at the motel comes up… Garrett is all over it… he has fond memories there…but, when he meets Dina, it’s love at first sight for him… she’s still mourning the death of her husband and can’t really see past that… thank goodness her sister put that ad up…just loved it !!!

Dina is a widow of her high school sweetheart that’s been gone for several years now and left her with the ownership and all the headaches to go along with the operation and maintenance of a motel set up in a vacation town setting and not to mention a crushed and broken heart. Dina has not yet been able or allowed herself whether guilt or whatever to move on from her husbands death. Her younger very impetuous sister Tink in hopes of helping her sister finally move on places a rather suggestive help wanted ad on Craig’s List for A Handyman/Mr. Fixit and she also posted the ad on the “Women seeking Men” list. Garrett is Mr. Right for Dina she just doesn’t know it yet or won’t accept it. He’s perfect in every way, pretty much other than looks a clone of her deceased husband, and the fact that he is a billionaire, wealthy wealthy man; that she knows nothing of and he already feels the minute he sees Dina that she’s the woman for him, now he just has to make her see things his way. Dina is a very strong willed personality and Garrett is a very powerful male presence. Lots of clashes along the way. Expect discipline, in the form of spankings, hot steamy love scenes, but chemistry works its way up the ladder to hot. This for me was a very fast read. Was a good story. I would recommend. Garrett is a successful businessman who answers an ad for a handyman at a motel in Maine. Dina hires him on the spot. He wants to build a personal relationship with her, but she is still grieving the loss of her husband three years ago. As the summer progresses, so does their relationship, until it all explodes. Will their HEA be lost forever?
Carolyn Faulkner drew me in from the beginning of this story. Her easy style makes for an easy Summer read.

I rate this book 3.5 stars.
Garrett answers an ad to be a handyman at Dina’s resort. He realizes that he needs to claim her and makes her a deal that she can’t refuse. While working together, they grow closer and there is an undeniable attraction to each other. However, Dina is struggling with her past and can’t open up to Garrett. He will need to convince her to take a chance if they are to have a future together.
I thought that Garrett was quite sweet and knew what to do with Dina. While I totally emphathize with Dina, I found her a tad abrupt and not quite rude though I really liked her relationship with Tink.

Dina was surprised when a sexy hunk Garrett arrives in answer to an ad her sister had placed.
Dina Conte struggles to maintain and operate the Twin Hearts Motel that she had run with her late husband and is shocked when a sexy hunk arrives for an interview for a job of handyman. Dina has no idea what ad he refers to then realizes her sister must have put it up as she has no idea what Craigslist is but her sister would. After yelling at her sister she takes Garrett birch to the local coffee shop to talk about the job.He is willing to work for board and lodgings as he is wealthy but is back on the Island out of nostalgia as he had stayed there as a child and want to get away to a more simple life for a while. She agrees to hire him and has him stay in her house but wonders if she has made a mistake letting the sexy younger man into her home.

This is a new author to me and I was pleasantly surprised by her work. Dina, a widow and “running” a failing business, is drowning in her grief and workload. Her younger sister, Tink takes it upon herself to run an add for a handyman to lighten the load and maybe add a little spice to Dina’s life. Garrett knew what he was getting into when he answered the advertisement but Dina didn’t. Can Garrett break down the walls Dina has put up around her heart?
I love the backstory we get on Dina. I want more information on Garrett. Together they are fire. I love his attitude and his drive. I love his depth of feeling and his stubbornness. Dina had taken so much time already but still need time to adjust and adapt and learn. I love Tink. This is a nice small town story with so much emotion and heart.

I enjoyed this sweet and steamy book about a widow and her new handyman. Dina is a widow running the inn that she owned with her late husband. She’s in need of a handyman to help with big projects, and Garrett is just the man for the job. A brilliant computer wiz but looking for something more hands on, being a handyman is just what he’s looking for. And Dina is just the woman he’s been looking for. Can she put aside her first love enough to allow a new love into her heart? Will the steam and discipline that Garrett offers her be enough to win her over? Their story is sweet and steamy with a side of discipline. Check it out today and enjoy Carolyn’s storytelling skills.

Good Plot but Could’ve Used Something
Carolyn Faulkner’s “Her Handyman” is a story about finding love after loss. Dina is a strong-willing, hard-working widow intent on keeping her small motel going. With the “help” (defined as interference in this case) of her younger sister, Tink, Dina suddenly meets her match when dominant, sexy Garrett responds to their ad for a handyman. Garrett is more than meets the eye, and he feels naturally drawn to Dina, who tries desperately to ignore the sparks flying between them. This story has some great steamy connections, and the characters were wonderfully flawed and vulnerable. However, there was just something a little too…formal (?) about it that made it difficult for me to buy into it completely. With that said, though, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up another of her books when the opportunity arises.
This was an entertaining read. Dina Conte was struggling to come to terms with her husband’s death and run her business. Her sister, Tink, had organised someone to help and Garett Birch was employed. Garett was a successful businessman but also liked to be hands on. Garett was instantly attracted to Dina but Dina had reservations about the age difference and moving on. I did like the way Garett was patient and understanding with Dina, although he was definitely an alpha male. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I thought this book was rather dull. I did like the way Dina and her sister, Tink interacted. Those seemed to be the only somewhat lively scenes in the book. Tink was the only character with personality.
The book read more like an outline or short story that needed to be filled in with detail and emotion. Garreth seemed to come in with an agenda that was explained later in the book. Dina had a chip on her shoulder, I guess because of her circumstances. I didn’t think either character was likeable.
The dialogue between Garreth and Dina was stiff, not to the extreme of being stilted, but close and kind of boring. I didn’t feel any connection or excitement, or sexual tension, or anything with this couple. Even the “discipline” fell flat. I honestly felt like Tink was the most interesting part of the book.

Dina has come out of the worst of her grief over her husband’s death and is trying to keep her motel from going under. But as determined as she is, she needs a pair of strong hands to help with the renovations. With the help of an ad placed by her sister, in walks Garrett. From the first, he is interested in taking not just the renovations, but Dina in hand, too. Turns out, he is just as dominant as her first love which of course makes for a lot of comparisons. I liked how that conflict was resolved on both their parts!

I thought that this was a really good read. A engaging and emotional storyline keeps you entertained. I loved the characters in this older woman/younger man romance. Dina was easy to feel for and I felt that Garrett was super swoony. The chemistry sizzles and these two generate lots of sweet heat that will melt your heart. I am choosing to post a truthful review.
This is a sweet romance, with some discipline thrown in! Dina is a widow who had a wonderful life with her former husband. They had a D/d relationship and it worked for them. Garrett is a successful businessman who is looking to use his hands again as the handyman for the small resort Dina owns. They fall for one another and Garrett proves that he is just as dominant as her first husband. There is a HEA after some stops and starts.
