I enjoyed this story a lot. But it is dangerous to keep a secret from your fake fiance. Liza & Jaimie develop a relationship after having a vehicle accident. Not a good way to meet your neighbor. But they are good for each other. I wanted to punch Liza’s ex-fiance & Jamie’s ex-wife. Both ex’s are horrible, mean, selfish, vindictive people. How things get rectified you will have to read to find out.
A modern Christmas romance with real life struggles that are addressed with heart and compassion.
Couldn’t put this book down.
Sweet romance set during the holiday season. You can always count on this author to deliver. Both MC have issues to overcome before they find their HEA. Nice character arcs.
Great light reading, romantic, happy, Christian based – a relief to read a feel good light weight romantic story. Great stress relief
Yay for another Echo Ridge book, it’s been awhile since I visited Echo Ridge. I don’t like cold weather but I love picturing a blanket of white with pine trees, houses with greenery draped on the porch railings, and green wreaths on the doors.
The main characters Liza and Jaime have a memorable first meeting when she hits his truck. Because of mistakes he’s trying to make up for Jaime doesn’t want to get an insurance company involved and let’s Liza borrow his truck while he has hers towed to be repaired. This could only happen in a small town.
Liza is working towards a promotion at work but her boss keeps pushing her to work with her ex-fiance (which seemed so creepy to me). To keep the ex-fiance at bay she comes up with a plan to have Jaime pose as her new (although fake) fiance. As soon as she puts this plan into action I knew it was going to come back to bite her in the rear.
Jaime, the fake fiance, is working hard to make up for some mistakes he’s made in the past. He has an awful ex-wife to deal with and a teenage son he fails to tell Liza about. Yep, another decision I knew was going to come out at the worse possible time, because that’s how it always happens.
These two are great together but they needed to learn that honesty is the best policy and since the truth always comes out, it’s better to just be upfront about things. I understood their reasons for why they lied (either on purpose or by omission) but I’ve found it’s usually easier and less painful to just be truthful from the beginning.
I really enjoy this author’s books and can always count on her for engaging and clean romances. This one was no exception as I was hooked waiting to see how everything would play out. It was kind of like a book version of a car accident on the side of the road that you can stop looking at–I had to see how Liza and Jaime would work things out and what would happen with Liza’s dreadful boss.
This is the fifth and final book in the Echo Ridge Series. This contemporary, clean romance is Jaime and Liza’s story. The characters are cute, likable and perfect for each other. Secrets galore, twists and some drama make for an entertaining read. They both had hateful ex’s who keep things in a turmoil. An accident brings them together and he then becomes her fake fiance’. A cute story that was well written and fun to read.
