This was a wonderful quick read. It makes for a great bookcation. I was very intrigued when I read the blurb. As a young girl, I adored watching, “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”. I love to also read Civil War romance and this was the BEST of both worlds.
Autumn Hartley purchases an antebellum home in the south. It is haunted by the prior owner General John Sibley Allen “Sib”. Sib was shot in the back during the war not by the Union but by another Confederate solder!
I adored reading this story. It is under 100 pages so it is a quick read. I only wish it were longer. Maybe an epilogue. Just something to tie in a few loose ends like the stables, the gelding…
As the romance is between a ghost and a live person, this is a sweet, clean romance that anyone would enjoy. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone.
What future could a modern woman and an old-fashioned ghost possibly hope for?
Her General in Gray is a story that will truly entertain you. Autumn Hartley buys a plantation in South Carolina that comes with its very own ghost, John Sibley Allen. This is a wonderful, fun short story with great characters. The storyline is well written and has lots of humour, drama, and suspense. This is great read for a cool autumn evening by the fire.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
A wonderful and sweet read. Two very different people get to know each other as one tries to avenge a murder. Very delightful story.
This was a terrific tale, and although I might have preferred a more finalized ending, there was no mistaking what the future had in store for Sib and Autumn. Acceptance and forgiveness were the major underlying themes in this sweet ghost story. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the Beau issue felt both not entirely developed and also unresolved. Aside from that, the plot was interesting, there were plenty of amusing moments, the tension between Autumn and Sib was yummy, and the descriptions of Sib’s life and times were quite lovely.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
A humorous ghost story.
There are parts that were so funny in this book. Oh, the General is a flirt and Autumn can see him. The interaction between the General and Beauregard was priceless. There are some wonderful twists in this book too. I loved this book I will pick it up again and again whenever I need a quick pick me up. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Her General in Gray by Linda Nightingale is a lovely southern ghost story. In this book, Autumn Hartley a divorced woman from the north buys a South Carolina plantation that just happens to be haunted by a confederate general. Confederate General John Sibley Allen, nicknamed Sib had been haunting his family home since his death. Now Sib must come to terms with his homes new owner and she must become accustomed to sharing a home with a southern gentleman ghost. This is the wonderful love story about this unusual couple one alive, one ghostly. This is the perfect love story. I loved the attitude of both characters and their interactions made me giggle and sigh in turn. If you are looking for a wonderful otherworldly romance, then you will love this book as much as I do. Her General in Gray is a funny and sweet southern paranormal romance.

This is a well written ghostly romance between Autumn who buys an old Southern mansion previously owned by General Allen .. Sib , (the ghost) who was killed during the civil war by a traitor , Beauregard Dudly. Enter Thomas Dudly, Beau’s descendant. The author does a great job building their story and pulls you in quickly watching their relationship grow with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. She adds mystery , drama and suspense and delivers an interesting read. My one downer is I felt it ended too abruptly. I would have liked to see what happens to all the characters and how the couple moves on in life. Overall I enjoyed the book.

This was my first time reading this author and this was an awesome book! This book grabbed me form the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading laughing out loud at times due to the General and his actions. Autumn bought a civil war plantation for a very good price finding out later it comes with it’s very own confederate general ghost John Sibley Allen the former owner. He has chased all the other past owners away but for some reason he becomes drawn to the new owner. They have a great chemistry together and their relationship grows. It’s an intriguing and unique story that I highly recommend and makes for a fun fast paced read! A must read for any fan and I can’t wait to read more form this author!!!!

Autumn bought an old civil war plantaion with a good deal in price but she finds it comes with her own confederate ghost former owner general John sibley Allen.
While she comes to terms of her shared house owner she fals for a ghost maybe or is it Thomas ?
Good book but ending was not good . there shouldve been more then how it ended. That why i have it 3 stars. Good story line great characters but an ending that was left unfinished in my eyes.
