It’s just for the summer…Single mom Anne Fraser is this close to breaking through the glass ceiling of corporate hotel management. She can’t afford to take off a whole summer to fill her late mother’s shoes at the Silver Rose Guest Ranch even if a few months out of the city might be just what the doctor ordered for eight-year-old Zoey. Anne can’t say no to her beloved stepfather’s request–even … her beloved stepfather’s request–even if the job means sharing the reins with the man whose kiss she’s never forgotten.
A little R&R at a B&B…
Professional bull rider Will Cavanaugh was this close to his goal of becoming World Champion when an injury sidelined him. Spending the summer managing his grandfather’s guest ranch might please the team doctor, but working with Anne brings challenges Will never saw coming—like falling in love. But that doesn’t mean he’s giving up on his dream.
Battered and a bit disillusioned by life, Will and Anne return to the Silver Rose to repay old debts. To fall in love again. But only for the summer.
Or, maybe…for a lifetime.

The happiness we ultimately achieve in life is about the choices we make. What works at one point in our life may not be what works as we mature and grow. Ms. Salonen makes her characters choose between what brought them satisfaction and fulfillment in the past and what may lead to the future they didn’t even know they wanted.
Will was a professional bull rider that got hurt very seriously and was waiting to find out if he could go back on the circuit and Anne lived in New York working very hard for a special promotion for a very demanding job and boss! AJ is Anne’s step father and Will’s grandfather. AJ raised Will when his parents died when be was very young and Will and Anne had crushes on each other when Will was in high school and even kissed Anne once. Then they both went in different directions pursuing their dreams. When Anne’s mom died without accomplishing her bucket list AJ decided to do if for her and leave her ashes at each place she wanted to see. AJ asked Will and Anne to come run the working ranch/ vacation ranch for 3 months while AJ drove across the US. A great standalone love story with a HEA!!!
Nevada verses city life for an executive. Good story, light and entertaining.
kept my interest
Enjoyed reading it
Love Me Tender, Love Me True ( courtesy of Elvis ). That describes this book. Will and Anne were like step-siblings so they fought their feeling as long as they could. He was the perfect gentleman but he wanted Anne oh so much. She felt the same for him. Will’s parents died in a crash when he was nine and A. J., his grandfather, his wife, Esther, Anne’s mother raised him. Anne had a daughter, Zoey that had asthma. Anne and Will were running A. J.’s dude ranch while he was away for the summer. If you like stories about strong handsome cowboys and the equally strong beautiful women in their lives then you will love Her Forever Cowboy by Debra Salonen.
Yes, finally a super great summer read. Loved all of it especially the whole family /town interaction. Just like I thought small town Nevada would be.
Totally enjoyable read! Will and Anne’s story is entertaining and enjoyable.
Good book. Wish it want to read more in this series
I really liked this book! It’s a good read.
Enjoyed this book.
Loved it! Thanks!
I loved that this addressed a current situation for many young women. It also demonstrated the pull from other life circumstances that often cause stress.
Great beach or rainy day read.
It started out kind of sad but as things fell into place. Sometimes young love never goes away. I’m so glad that in the end what was most important and letting everything else go!
Really enjoyed reading this book.
Debra Salonen has taken a nice story line and put a couple twists into it, making it a book you can’t seem to put down … and if you do, you’re finding a reason to pick it up again to find out what happened next.
It’s a totally enjoyable read, enough quirkiness to make one laugh and maybe even say “Yes, that’s my family” or “That happened to me.”
The book is a little longer than fits my preferences, but I usually give these a try just see see what the author is trying to achieve. I couldn’t stop until I got to ‘page last’.
I wonder how many others will say the same thing.
I kept rooting for Zoey!
Great summer read!
I enjoyed
Anne & her daughter Zoey where spending the summer in Nevada to help out her step father by taking care of the B&B while he travels to Maine to distribute her mothers ashes. Will is taking the summer to heal after his latest fall from the bulls, but doing the ranching part of the B&B. They had one kiss 15 years prior. Can it work.
