Navy SEAL Dex Evans’ buddies play a joke on him that backfires and lands him with a gorgeous, funny, spitfire of a woman e-mailing him. Dex can’t believe his friends stupidity or his good luck. Is it possible that he has struck gold in the world of on-line dating through a prank? Single mother, Kenna Wright was in way over her head, when she met the handsome Navy warrior. She’s used to … used to putting her teenage son and work ahead of everything, but maybe it’s time to think about her needs. And this Navy man puts the ‘N’ in needy.
Then one of her co-workers is murdered and it looks like Kenna might be the next one in the killer’s crosshairs. Knowing that the clock is ticking, Dex brings in his SEAL team to make sure that the woman, who has come to mean everything to him, does not become the next victim.

I think Dex is my next book boyfriend!!! I loved this story between Dex and Kenna. They meet through a dating site and he has a hard time convincing her he really wants to see her and get to know her. Kenna is a single mother of a teenage son and doesn’t trust easily. Even though I really like Kenna’s spirit, she made me want to reach through my kindle and smack her upside the head for resisting so long! But there is a killer on the loose and he has set his sights on Kenna. Will Dex and his team be able to save her? I’m not telling but just get the book and get comfortable for one awesome read! Oh, and when Austin grows up, I would love to see his story also!
A ok story. There are a couple times that events are skipped over and I would have loved to read about them. But in the end they live happily ever after. And I guess that’s what is about.
Who needs enemies when your friends play pranks like signing you up for z dating service? Dex Evans may just have to strangle a few SEALs after being pranked. I really enjoyed this love story. Kenna and Dex were perfectly suited even if she tried to keep him at arm’s length. Her son Austin was another great character who was so protective of his mother. Kenna’s mother, a busy body former movie star and her grandson round out the cast. Protecting Kenna from a stalker who’s escalating consumes Dex. Now that he’s found the love of his life he’s not letting go.

Dex is a Navy SEAL and one of his buddies thinks it’s hilarious that they made a profile page for Dex on a singles site. He tells all the women that has emailed him that his page was part of a prank. Except for one that catches his eye. Kenna is a single mother, working two jobs, and puts her son first. She hasn’t responded to any of the emails sent to her from the dating site, until Dex. She only emailed to tell him that she doesn’t expect him to email her anymore. She takes her page off the site but Dex isn’t giving up. Then she has to spend time with Dex because he’s on the same charity committee as her. Kenna starts getting texts and phone calls from a weirdo. Her friend is killed and they think it might be the same person calling Kenna. Dex is not going to let anything happen to Kenna.
This was AWESOME! Sex, suspense, and a stalker. Loved the characters. Dex is the protective SEAL type. Kenna is strong and doesn’t realize how beautiful she is.
I loved this book and recommend this series.
I enjoy reading Caitlyn O’Leary’s books! I either read this before, or read the first few chapters in one of her other books. Regardless, loved the suspense with the stalker, turned killer as well as the romance with Dex. Enjoyed that Dex was a gentleman and he and his Navy seal family took good care of each other. It involved intrigue, fun, family and romance, without needing to have all the rangy sex. Not to say that I didn’t enjoy the amount of sex that WAS in the book, just that the relationship and respect came first!
Great story but too much F- word. Not everyone talks like that. Other than that you can’t put this book down. Dex is amazing!! Talk about a dream man!! Kenna is an unbelievable great lady with issues but you understand why. Dex’s team mate makes up a phony profile and Kenna actually answers the email that Dex never wrote but he was so intrigued by what she wrote he answered. By chance they were able to meet and the more time they spent together the more they liked each other. There are some twists and turns your not expecting but all in all a great story. A standalone with an HEA!!
Good story and likeable characters. Enjoyed it.
I loved how these two unlikely partners ended up together. We should all be so lucky with online dating!
Great book, must read! I love the portrayal of family within the military & how they take care of one another. Wonderful characters & story line, didn’t want to put this book down.
I like the twist at the ending….not going to give it away.
I have 8 in this series they are worth reading I have 2 more to go. Great author to read
Great read!
12/05/2020 If you want a very intense, hold-your-breath kind of book then you need to read “Her Devoted Hero” (nook). Dex and Kenna encounter twists and turns as well as surprises on their journey. A great HEA.
I rated this nook book 5 stars in spite of it containing punctuation and grammar errors. Sometimes I had to decipher a situation because varied sentences were connected by commas. Also, found “counsel” instead of “console.”
Awesome book. 6 stars
Navy SEAL Dex Evans has a problem. His buddies signed him up for a dating service behind his back and now he has over 200 women emailing him. Only one hilariously funny woman caught his attention but she is skittish of men. Now he just has to convince her to give in a chance.
Dex is a protective alpha male who is determined to keep Kenna safe, especially from controlling ways. Kenna is a smartass mother of a teenager who devotes her life to working and taking care of her son. I really liked both of them. They were just a great couple and their relationship was very emotional and captivating. Also I really liked her son, Austen, too. He was a great side character.
This is my first Caitlyn O’Leary book and I really enjoyed it. I picked this up yesterday for free and was instantly sucked into the story. Dex and Kenna were great characters and were pretty hilarious, especially Kenna. I really want to read the rest of this series now because I liked all of Dex’s teammates and I want to learn more about them.If you are looking for a great military romantic suspense book, check this book out.
Trigger Warnings:
– Stalking
– Death
– Torture
– Kidnapping
Excellent read about a single mother and a Navy Seal. His friends put him up on an online dating site and she’s a single mother. It’s funny how they communicate online. But when things get dicey for her Dex worms his way in to protect her. HEA
I had this one in my TBR list for a long time. Yes, I got it when it was free. I am a fan of Caitlyn O’Leary so when a book of hers comes up free I take advantage of that. This book was well written and it has some wonderful characters. It was a quick easy read for me. It has some twists in it. I don’t do spoilers so get the book and find out what I talking about. This one is worth your time. I skimmed some of the other reviews they were talking about editing errors, but I did not find them while reading this book. Give this one a chance.
Not your Mary Poppins. Yep Kenna is my spirit animal. I can’t believe the high-jinx seals with computers will get up to. Let’s see what happens when we post fake dating profiles, only Dex would actually take the time to read and respond to every message. I love the fact that we have a case of the heroine being more mature. She’s not a fresh faced 20 year old (not that there is a problem with that), but now that I am not a fresh faced 20 year old, it’s nice to still feel like I can put myself into her shoes without feeling like a cougar. Another great romp and really entertaining. Throw in some glamorous Hollywood royalty and a pack of pouches, it’s a winner!
