In the fourth Desert Destiny series book, Zoey Lacey travels to the small Middle-Eastern country of Bashir to write about the upcoming 300th year celebration of the country’s founding. While in the market, taking pictures, she accidentally draws the attention of a group of young men, who chase after her. Luckily for her, she runs right into the hottest man she’d ever seen—the country’s head of security.
Khalid al-Hakim is also a prince, the youngest of four brothers, and he puts Zoey under his protection whether she likes it or not. Though he’s worried about her and a series of attacks that seems focused on her, he also has to see to the protection of his people and his family from a villain he can’t find.
Zoey and Khalid were wonderful. Her strength and his need to shelter her often clashed, but they worked through it and learned how to work together.
Khalid’s three older brothers and their women were interesting, but I couldn’t really connect with them. I haven’t read the previous books in the series, so sometimes I was confused, but each of those couples had a brief back-story. I would’ve liked to know more.
I enjoyed the plot and the H/h, but the story could use a light edit to clear up a few typos and filter words. Overall, it’s a good story and I’m happy I read it.
4 Stars
— I received a copy of this from Netgalley
Her Desert Protector by Marie Tuhart is book 4 in the Desert Destiny Series. This is the story of Khalid Al-Hakim and Zoey Lace. I have read the previous books but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Zoey is a traveling photographer / journalist and that job has taken her to Bashir, where she hopes to get a breaking story. Khalid is a Prince but he is also in charge of Security for his family and country. So when Zoey’s life is put in danger due to her job he goes forward to protect her and his family. But of course feelings between the two start to come out as well.
Book four in the Desert Destiny Series a well written story with a very good storyline the story flowed smoothly from page to page.Journalist Zoey Lace and Prince Khalid Al-Hakim’s story of mystery, suspense, drama, danger, and romance. I enjoyed reading. I read a copy through Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily reviewing.
An unlikely pair, perfect connection
Her Desert Protector (Desert Destiny Series #4) by Marie Tuhart is a well written romance, the fourth book in her series seeing all the Princes of Bashir with the loves of their lives. These wonderful characters, including the other Princes and their loves, this book is an exciting journey of the discovery of love as well as a bit of mystery, suspense and danger.
Khalid and Zoey seem an unlike pair; Khalid is the ultimate protector and accustomed to giving orders while Zoey has been independent as an adult after an extreme and overwhelmingly overprotective and restrictive upbringing. These two discover that they share many things in common and develop an understanding and acceptance of each other making their love story an enjoyable read.
Overall, a very well written romance in a beautiful and still interesting setting as well as wonderful characters. The HEA for this royal family is solidified in Khalid and Zoey’s HEA, letting the reader’s investment in the series as a whole feel really great and truly happy.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
Can Khalid protect Zoey from his enemy
I absolutely loved this 4th book in the Desert Destiny series of Zoey and Khalid! Marie continues to tie all the characters from the previous books in the series which makes for a great read. Zoey somehow finds herself in the radar of Khalid’s enemy, so Khalid does what Khalid does best, protects Zoey by bringing her back to the Palace. While Khalid and Zoey find themselves drawn to one another, outside forces keep them apart. How will it all play out is anyone’s guess and have you turning the pages to find out!
The fourth and final book about the Al-Hakim princes of Bashir and this is the youngest brother Khalid’s story.
Khalid is the brother who is the head of security for the royal family and he will do whatever he needs to to keep his brothers and their wives safe even if they don’t always like his methods he doesn’t believe that eh will ever be blessed with a love like his brothers have found but he is in for a surprise. One even when he is manning the security monitors at the security compound in the city he sees a woman been followed by a group of youths and he steps in to assist the moment they see him they run and he is unable to catch them. Zoey Lace is a travel writer/blogger who has come to Bashir to attend the 300th Anniversary of the country. What she didn’t expect is to find a stunning man who is determined to insinuate his way into her life She is even more shocked when she discovers he is one of the princes of the country. As danger threatens the country and the royal family and Zoey is placed in increasing danger Khalid whisks her away to the palace to keep her safe but will that be enough or will danger still get her. As he faces losing the woman he loves he will have to draw on all his strength to save her and his homeland.
I received a copy of this book from BookFunnel and I voluntarily chose to review it. This is the 4th book in this series. This is a wonderful book and the characters are awesome. I love this book and the whole series. I do love seeing the other characters I have read return. This isn’t a quick easy read but you will not be able to put it down. I encourage everyone to get this book. If you haven’t read the others in this series get them. I don’t do spoilers so go get this one to see what happens in this story.
An excellent story with wonderful characters. It has all the exciting ingredients of the exotic backdrop of the Middle East, intrigue, handsome dominant men, and steamy sensuality. Zoey always thought she didn’t like anyone taking charge of her life until she literally ran into Khalid. He is a protector with a strong silent demeanor. The story is sweet and fairytale romantic. As Zoey slips seamlessly into royal life she finds herself in love and ready to make changes to her independent mindset. Khalid finds that love can loosen his bonds and the need to protect everyone.
