Too unbelievable that she is falling for the detective 5 days after her dream of a husband dies.
This was chosen for my author alphabet challenge but it turned out to be quite a suspenseful tale.
Cate is mourning the loss of her husband and has three children at home to take care of but something doesn’t seem quite right and the police think that she had something to do with her husband’s death. After all, the spouse is usually the most likely suspect. However, in this case, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
Cate feels like she is being watched and that leads her to look into her husband’s death after she learns a few things that make her suspect foul play.
Cate also falls for one of the investigators on the case. One might normally find this odd since she just buried her husband a few weeks ago, but sometimes love doesn’t observe grief.
There are some unexpected revelations at the end which took me by surprise, well some of them did anyway.
I enjoyed all of the characters and look forward to more in this series.
I really, really enjoyed this book! It had so many twist and turns that it kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series!! I really like the main character and her relationship with her brother. They are so funny and sound like my siblings and me. I’m glad how things turned out. Though the relationship with the mother in law was like an ich. Lol I didn’t like the mother in law.
Excellent story. However, it was SPOILED for me by the author’s abuse of the word *Holy*. This is blasphemy and is NEVER acceptable! Loses you 1*
Her Deepest Fear (Rosemary Run, #1), my fourteenth read from author Kelly Utt. A well-written, 248-page pulse-pounding, entertaining romantic suspense read, with intriguing, well-developed characters that leave you panting for more. I couldn’t turn pages fast enough, starting & completing it in one sitting. I’m getting used to Utt’s series style of writing. Introduce new characters in each book, with a common thread tying the books together. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.” The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I’ll be reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Totally unbelievable. A woman’s husband dies and within a week she’s sleeping with an agent investigating the death? I don’t think so. The rest of it is just as bad.
Fast reading but unrealistic and very predictable.
Great read, couldn’t put down…
Her Deepest Fear – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Cate Brady’s life is turned upside down, following the sudden death of her Naval Officer husband, Mick. At the military funeral Cate spots someone lurking in the shadows… who’s watching her?
Why is Cate suspected of plotting to kill Mick?
Who breaks into Cate’s home while it’s empty?
What warning does Tim Neagley give Cate?
What shocking sight does Cate see on their CCTV?
In an almost identical plot to Double Jeopardy, (or a reversed version of Gone Girl), Kelly Utt’s psychological thriller centres around a woman being framed for her husband’s sudden, violent death, for financial gain and/or an illicit love affair.

I was quite upset with Cate for awhile with just losing her husband but the ending was so sad and thoughtful that I loved it.
One of the most ridiculous books I’ve read in a long time. Pathetically written.
Enjoyed the book until I got to the end of it. The end was very rushed. Disappointing.
Suspenseful
This book was not at all realistic and it was too superficial. I do not recommend it.
you might like it but I found it very boring and more like something an immature person would write… recent widow jumps into be with investigating cop week after husband’s funeral. Too many things had me smh…at the ending which is totally unbelievable drug dealers referred to as businessmen. Ugh writer needs to do aliitle more research into subjects of which she has no clue as evidenced be all the claptrap in this book.
I enjoyed this book.
I love a good thriller but the book has to end so that all themes used to tie the story together makes sense and this one certainly doesn’t.
I read this book all the way through. I enjoyed the style but found something’s in it too far out in left field.
Great book, couldn’t put it down!
Too predictable
