A young private investigator learns the price of keeping deadly secrets when a vicious killer sets his sights on her in this pulse-pounding thriller from the USA TODAY and New York Times bestselling author. Private investigator Kira Vance spends her days navigating the intricate labyrinth of Houston’s legal world, and she knows all of its shadowy players and dark secrets. On a seemingly normal … secrets. On a seemingly normal day, she’s delivering a report to her top client when suddenly everything goes sideways and the meeting ends in a bloodbath. Twenty-four hours later, the police have no suspects but one thing is clear: a killer has Kira in his sights.
Fiercely independent, Kira doesn’t expect–or want–help from anyone, least of all an unscrupulous lawyer and his elite security team. Instead, she launches her own investigation, hoping to uncover the answers that have eluded the police. But as Kira’s hunt for clues becomes more and more perilous, she realizes that she alone may hold the key to finding a vicious murderer. And she knows she must take help wherever she can find it if she wants to stay alive…
Written with Laura Griffin’s signature “gritty, imaginative, sexy” (Cindy Gerard, New York Times bestselling author) style, Her Deadly Secrets is an electrifying and scintillating novel that packs a powerful punch.

A page-turning whodunit!
When PI Kira Vance witnesses the murder of her close friend and mentor it unleashes a fierce need to find the killer. She’s hampered by the inscrutable private security agent hired by her big-wig client to protect his team until an important case- the one her partner was working on when he died- goes to court.
Jeremy Owen is running on overdrive after a particularly tough op overseas- he’s not exactly enamored with the idea of taking on the security detail of an impulsive, distracting PI, but his loyalty to Wolfe Security is one hundred and ten percent. If Liam needs him, he’s onboard.
The danger grows as a killer with nothing to lose closes in on Kira and the information he thinks she has and Jeremy has to fight a growing attraction in order to keep her safe.
Laura Griffin writes about strong, independent women in male-dominated careers who spend their lives taking down the worst of humanity. Her books are addictive!
He’d developed a thing for a woman who rode a bike to work. And hated guns. And rescued fish.

Great tension, nice connections between characters, non-stop action. Review to follow.
What a great story for a rainy day! Kira is just an assistant PI to Ollie her mentor so when he has her meet him at a clients house she knows he has a big lead in his case. Ollie is doing PI work for Brock Logan the attorney for a doctor who killed his wife and Ollie was just going to tell her when he was shot along with Brock.
Brock decides to hire the best security there is for his team Kira included and it’s where she meets Jeremy one of her guards. Kira doesn’t like being told what to do or having a tag along but that’s exactly what Jeremy does as the stakes get higher and more people are dying.
Jeremy and Kira have a mutual attraction but that’s as far as it can go because they both have to focus on the murders and why was Ollie killed. I loved reading how they figured it out and how many players ended up involved and if Kira and Jeremy ever would.

Kira is a private investigator and knows all in ins and outs of law. When her mentor wants her to deliver some papers to his clients house. While there someone knocks and Ollie goes to answer it only to be shot. The shooter goes in the house and shoots Logan, the owner and lawyer. Jeremy was a Marine but now works for one of the best security firms. After a bad op, he arrives home only to go straight to another job. His firm is hired to protect Logan and his team that are defending a doctor accused of murdering his wife. Jeremy is head of Kira’s team and is very attracted to her. As they try to figure out why Ollie was killed and by whom, others end up dead and the case gets more complicated by the day. Can Jeremy keep his focus on the job and keep Kira safe?
Great story with action and suspense. It will leave you guessing to the very end. A good way to pass a dreary day. A little steamy. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat.

What a great story with lots of suspense! This is my first story by Laura Griffin and I can’t wait to read all her others!
More mystery/whodunit than a romance – that was definitely secondary to all that was going on. A good story that didn’t get overly complicated.
Laura Griffin’s books are always top-notch romantic suspense and Her Deadly Secrets is no exception. Especially loved Kira, who is a private investigator—sassy, creative, motivated, street smart but also smart enough to be scared. Jeremy’s the ex-military bodyguard strong-silent intense type—and yes, drool-worthy. Kira’s boss is gunned down and she takes over his case and is targeted for her info. The danger and sexual tension are both high, the mystery is intriguing, and the action is rocking! Highly recommend!
Laura Griffin has become one of my favorite authors and I enjoy everything she writes. She knows how to write edge of the seat suspense with romance and strong female leads.
Kira, a PI is stunned when her partner is murdered right in front of her. Even though she doesn’t understand why someone would murder him, Kira doesn’t think she is in danger and is upset when she learns Jeremy is hired to protect her. Kira is too busy trying to solve the mystery of why someone would want to kill her colleague, she doesn’t have time to waste on a bodyguard who wants to know her every move.
Jeremy is former military and takes his job as a bodyguard seriously. When he meets Kira he knows she will make his life difficult because she resents being hampered by a bodyguard. Jeremy knows he shouldn’t get involved with a client, but he can’t seem to help his attraction to Kira. Jeremy admires everything about Kira, especially her dedication to her job. Jeremy is all alpha male: protective, strong and silent.
Jeremy and Kira are hot on the trail of a killer. They are using all their instincts and knowledge to figure out what is happening and why people are being killed. This is a fast paced, heart pounding suspenseful story. The only issue I had with this story was the ending seemed abrupt to me. I would have liked an epilogue telling us how Jeremy and Kira work everything out. This is the second book in the Wolfe security series.
Kira Vance is a Private Investigator working for Ollie, the best PI around, her friend, her mentor. She’s helping Ollie who is working for a very prestigious law office who is going to court soon to defend a doctor who has been charged with killing his wife.
During a meeting, a man breaks into the lawyer’s house, Ollie is killed immediately, the lawyer is winged and Kira is hit with flying glass.
Twenty four hours later, the police have no suspects but one thing is perfectly clear … a killer has Kira in his sights. They are looking for something belonging to Ollie … his office has been ransacked, nearly destroyed … but what do they want? and why?
The lawyer hires Wolfe Security to protect all his employees… the ones involved with his upcoming trial, and that includes Kira. She’s none too happy to know that someone will be with her at all times.
Fiercely independent, Kira doesn’t expect—or want—help from anyone, least of all an unscrupulous lawyer and his elite security team. Instead, she launches her own investigation, hoping to uncover the answers that have eluded the police.
At least Jeremy Owen, former military, and an employee of Wolfe Security is not hard to look at. And though he may be attracted, his focus is on protecting Kira as more bodies fall around her.
This is a terrific Romantic Suspense, more suspense than romance, although there is sizzle and spice. It’s an easy read with finely drawn characters. It’s an exciting romp through the legal system that kept me riveted to the story.
Many thanks to the author / Gallery Books / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
You have most likely read a synopsis of HER DEADLY SECRETS already. So, in my reviews I tell you why/what I like or dislike about a book.
It’s a good murder mystery that kept my interest the whole time. There is a lot of action (being shot at by snipers, searching for and running from “bad guys”, hiding out, etc.). I like Kira and Jeremy’s story. I do wish their relationship would have been expanded. But, it fit for the timeline of the story. I did really hate to put the book down as I enjoyed this book very much.
This is the second book in the WOLFE SECURITY Series. I like the series and I’m looking forward to the next book. I hope the relationship between the two main characters will be developed and expanded more in future books.
In Her Deadly Secrets Kira Vance is a PI who get her work mainly from the Houston’s legal world. She is was at a meeting with the man who mentored her in their business when she shows up everything goes wrong.
Kira is offered a job after this incident and it is full of twists and turns. This made this story hard to put down.
I was captured and drawn into the mystery from the beginning. There is a mystery with the mystery. I really like that aspect of the book.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Cozy mysteries.
This was such a good book. This author was new to me. I’ve since gotten a couple of her other books since reading this one. Loved the storyline, characters and the kick butt heroine. She was amazing without being too much or too pushy. Looking forward to reading more stories with her in it.
This thrilling little tale drew me right in, it’s words were absorbing and left me with an insatiable desire to know more. So I let the words take me away, and they kept me up until way past my bedtime… and boy was it worth every lost minute of sleep! This one impressed on all fronts, it had suspense to twist the thoughts, bits of steamy times to make me blush, and thrilling action to keep me on the edge of my seat… a true winner in my book! If you are a romantic suspense lover you will love this one, it’s pages come brimming with plenty of sizzle and suspense!! Highly recommend!
What a fantastic page turner. This book really keeps you on your toes trying to figure it all out and when you think you just about have it, BAM a big plot twist. I love books like this! Thanks for such a great book Laura!
I really enjoyed this second book in this series. You can read this as a stand alone. If I hadn’t read the first book I never would have known this was a series that’s how easily you can read this book by itself. Though I loved the first book and highly recommend you read it. The whole mystery/thriller part of this book was fun to figure out and watch play out in my book. The romance part which is second in this book I felt lacking. I really would have liked some kind of update of Erik and Brynn from book 1. I also would have liked more of Jeremy and Kira’s relationship. This is a personal preference and does not take away from the book at all.
I enjoyed it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review
This book is another fantastic suspense by this author. Ms. Griffin is a skillful writer who has created a complex plot that is, suspenseful and thrilling. This story quickly grabs the reader from the first chapter and makes it difficult for readers to put the book down.
This author’s characters are ALL multi-faceted and three-dimensional. Ms. Griffin skillfully creates characters with a lot of depth and realism. These realistic and engaging characters, and the complicated plot, makes it difficult for the reader to figure out who the villain is.
Great book!
I loved this book! You can find my review on my blog, carolintallahassee.com
I highly recommend! Thank you Netgalley!
Her Deadly Secrets is the second book in the Wolfe Security series. Private Investigator Kira Vance, had thought this was just a normal day, to deliver a report to her top client. Jeremy Owen is the lead security specialist with Wolfe Steam whom a job is to protect four attorneys and a paralegal, Kira. Kira is a very opinionated and defensive and very stubborn which make Jeremy job a lot more difficult. But Jeremy starts to appreciate her tenacity. There is some chemistry between them.
Charlotte Spears was a homicide detective, who always trusted her instincts, and she would share the information that she collected, she would pass it on to people who had the position to be able to do something about the information that she had.
Jeremy is a formal military who takes his job as a bodyguard seriously. When he meets Kira, he knows she will make his life difficult because she resents being hampered by a bodyguard. If you are looking for a book with lots of mystery, suspense and romantic than you don’t want to miss Laura Griffin new book. Laura Griffin is one of my favorite authors who knows how to tell a story that will keep you wanting to find out just who is behind all of this until the very last page.
The second book in Ms. Griffin’s Wolfe Security series didn’t disappoint! I really enjoyed Kira and Jeremy’s story, and OMG, I’m still smiling like a loon after reading the last chapter…
Her Deadly Secrets is a lot more heavy on the “suspense” part of “romantic suspense” and honestly, I was fine with that. I enjoyed the slow burn of Kira and Jeremy’s romance, and honestly, as much as I enjoy bodyguard romances, I usually can[t help but wonder how well they’re really doing their jobs if they’re constantly distracted by…other things. Here there was a heck of a lot of suspense-type things going on pretty much all of the time, and I’m just as glad as Kira was that Wolfe security managed to keep her alive through them all. Plus, the waiting made them actually being together all the sweeter…
Yep, STILL SMILING.
I also really liked that Kira was a PI and that she took such an active role in figuring out what was going on–and loved that she shared what she knew with the police and didn’t engage in too many TSTL tactics. She did get a bit frustrated with the logistics of being guarded, but she also let them do their jobs and appreciated the results. She almost always listened to them, anyway…
I can’t wait to see what’s next up for this series!
