AriaI might be innocent, but I’m looking for somethingrough and real. Dylan Wolf seems like the manwho can give it to me.But I’m not sure if I should trustthe man who is holding me down.DylanI need Aria Valance at any cost. Her thick curves were meantfor me to sink into. She’s stubbornand not easily won,but I like a challenge. But she has to know that I always win.
You start off thinking this is kind of weird a billionaire doing U-her once a week but then his answer seems logical in a strange way. Then Dylan’s obsession starts for Aria. On the lines of stocking. She agrees to a first date because she has had a string of horrible first day. And well here is this older well off man who keeps saying I’m beautiful why not?
Dinner goes nice but when she goes to his place and he comes on to her she dreamed of down and dirty but Dylan took it to a mean and hurtful experience which no woman should have to take especially for their first time. He new her need to feel wanted so he played on that need to get her to his bed. But when he said he wanted to her basically like a well kept whore with no wants at his beck and call she figures out his end game.
She tells him he’s no better than all the other guys she dated and leaves he believes she’ll call or come back but when she doesn’t he starts to lose it. He can’t even function at work. He repeatedly call but she blocked him. So, his obsession grows more desperate and he losses it. And this story takes a stick turn.
Like a train wreck I finished but just never connected with either character. Received during July-Aug. book giveaway.
Borderline noncon. Aria meets Dylan when she calls a ride service & he is the driver. He takes her to a diner to talk, then his penthouse where he takes her virginity on his balcony without being caring or gentle. She tells him to stay away after that night when he hurt her by wanting to just be friends w/benefits. He gets her to agree to give him a week to change her mind. He then basically kidnaps Aria by locking her in a room and not allowing her to leave. No safe word given. Epilogue tries to clean up. I like other stories by this author better.
Obsession or love?
Her Curves: His Obsession by Sarah Hazel is a very quick read, but held my attention throughout. Aria and Dylan are interesting characters who meet by chance and quickly morphs into Dylan’s obsession with Aria.
Dylan is more than just a billionaire who always gets his way. Aria throws off his game in many ways, intentionally but mostly unintentionally. She holds her own against Dylan’s strong personality and dark, demanding ways, but gets tricked! Dylan is truly a predator, with pleasurable intentions, but not entirely honest about them.
Overall, this novella of Aria and Dylan is truly fast-paced yet doesn’t feel rushed and in the end, love prevails providing the reader with a HEA.
2.5 stars :: This definitely falls into the dark and twisty category. I was expecting it to some level but this surpassed my expectations. Not necessarily in a good way.
I didn’t like Aria. She vacillated between having conviction and being a completely spineless pushover. Even if the story was super steamy, I wasn’t impressed.
I love Sara Hazel books, however, this one left me feeling a little off. The way Dylan and Aria met was original and I really enjoyed the first couple of chapters. A twist of words makes Aria his prisoner for the week in his penthouse. Some of these scenes bordered on being non-consensual, which I didn’t enjoy. How desperate is Dylan to get a girlfriend that he keeps her prisoner in a locked room even when she’s scared and crying to be released? She eventually gets into the Dom/sub relationship and they live HEA, however, with all that has happened already, it’s hard to wrap my head around it.
