Her sons want her to be happy, but she’s too old to be set up on a blind date…isn’t she?Amanda Whittaker has been looking for a second chance at love since the death of her husband several years ago. When her long-time relationship breaks up, she finally authorizes her sons to set her up on a blind date, sure nothing good will come of it.She said no cowboys, and the man who shows up to dinner … man who shows up to dinner isn’t wearing a cowboy hat. She’s intrigued by his kind spirit and quiet charm, and the attraction between her and Finn is instant.
Finley Barber is a cowboy in every sense of the word. Born and raised on a racehorse farm in Kentucky, he’s since moved to Dog Valley and started his own breeding stable for champion horses. He hasn’t dated in years, and everything about Amanda makes him nervous.
As they spend more time together, Amanda makes some startling discoveries about herself while Finn remains steady and strong at her side—at least until he realizes she isn’t truly ready to move on.
At least not the way she’d have to in order to be with him. He can’t ask her to give up her home in Coral Canyon. Her memories there with her husband. Her time with her children at Whiskey Mountain Lodge.
So he doesn’t ask. Will Amanda take the leap of faith required to be with Finn? Or will he become just another boyfriend who doesn’t make the cut?
This seasoned romance will remind you that love endures at any age, and it’s never too late to find a happily-ever-after!

A sweet story of an older couple that had a lifes worth of memories to work through before they could find their happy ever after. Great story.
Wonderful, clean, realistic (except for the billionaire part, of course) love story about why love can be so complicated for older people. Amanda and Finn are super characters (but stubborn) and Amanda’s family is one we would all like to have as our own. Very entertaining, feel good book!
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Another great book in this series by Liz Isaacson. In this book the matriarch of the series finds a second love in a blind date. Complications arise because he lives 30 minutes away from her and her family, and she isn’t ready to see her house, and he is estranged from his parents. The way she worked out all the situations was interesting.
It’s hard to think about the loneliness of being a widow and living alone. And it’s almost impossible to imagine being married a second time now that I have grown children as well as grandchildren that i would need to merge with someone else’s life and family. So many variables! Such was the story in this book about Amanda and Finn. It was true to life, in some places sad and confusing, and in other places happy and romantic. They were great characters and this is a wonderful story! I have really loved this series about the Whittaker family and this installment did not disappoint! Highly recommend! I was entrusted with a copy of this book by the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
After this series starting off right after Amanda suffered tremendous heartbreak, and seeing her trying to find another love throughout the previous books, I’m so excited that her time came and got a full length read dedicated to it!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher an am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
A warm and entertaining romance between two older adults. It was a second chance at love for both of them. This story is so true to life it makes the characters more believable The problems they deal with are so real. They are very much in love but the root of their worries finally come to the forefront and problems ensue and they go their separate ways. But the wise advice of her eldest son that was probably given to him by his mother finds a place in her heart to decide what was most important in her life. A happy ending is always a wonderful read.
I have to say I read this one out of order. It wasn’t a problem, but I did have some background before I started reading this book. I love this series. The big family just keeps growing as they add more spouses and children. The stories deal with real issues that people have, and the comfort that God gives us when we let Him lead. I especially liked the way that one of the people had to get out of their own way in order to find their joy. I enjoy these and look forward to more!
A cute, fun, and clean older romance story. This well written entertaining stoyline had me engaged throughout with a few twists and turns. The strong interesting characters had good chemistry, need to learn to love and trust again with alot to overcome, learning to be open and honest about their feelings and themselves while facing the challenges of dating and starting over. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
I loved the family atmosphere of the Whittaker family I have met before in other books. The love story of Fin & Amanda is a refreshing story with Fin sharing so much of how he was feeling. Also I loved that this story was about an older couple. Some times when we are so close to a problem it is hard to see easy solutions.
Reading about older individuals finding love again the second-time-around is always enjoyable. I wasn’t sure how Amanda and Finn were going to resolve the distance problem but it all worked out in the end.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Amanda’s son sets her up on a blind date with Finn, a younger man. I enjoy reading about “older” couples falling in love. There was some angst that frustrated me just a little but…. I love the Whittaker family and hope the author never runs out of family to write about.
Amanda has done a wonderful job raising her boys. He husband was a workaholic and while she loved him and mourns his loss she was alone, even by his side. Amanda longs to feel love again and has been dating for some time but she hasn’t felt ready for more. Finn is a caring kind man, one who is wealthy in his own right but lonely too, like Amanda. A blind date brings two people who want to love and be loved together, but it is up to them to figure out how to make it last. A wonderful story of love for an older generation and dealing with the circumstances of their lives and how to navigate what you want and what you need to blend it all together. Another wonderful, sweet read from this author.
As a person who was widowed at 59, I know how hard it is to consider dating and remarrying. Liz Isaacson gives a realistic look at the feelings involved in that decision. I loved how involved Amanda’s sons were in getting her to date and specifically to date Finn. It was fun to watch their romance unfold. Strong characterizations and an entertaining story line make this book fun to read.
I want to go to Whiskey Mountain Lodge! Amanda’s story does not disappoint! Amanda’s son arranges a blind date with a friend, Finn. They are instantly attracted to each other but Amanda, a widow, needs to let go of the past and move on. The interaction between her and her sons and grandchildren is great. And I love that this is a story about older characters! Don’t miss this new short-read from Liz Isaacson!
I have been impatiently waiting for the Whittaker matriarch’s story for what feels like forever, and now I finally get it. Squee! This story didn’t quite put me through the wringer, but it certainly gave my emotions a workout. I adore the fact that this is a love story in the silver generation; proving that love has no age limit. It also shows us that while age brings wisdom, we also get set in our ways. Making changes becomes a much bigger task, and communication and compromise become vitally important. Amanda and Finn are adorable together. While I hated to see them struggle to reconcile their routines with their new relationship, I loved watching them blend their families. I’m also so very glad to know that this wasn’t the last Christmas we’ll spend in Coral Canyon.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
What a sweet story. Amanda and Finn show us that no-matter what our age we grow, learn and can change if we want to bad enough.
