All the maid at Whiskey Mountain Lodge wants for her birthday is a handsome cowboy billionaire. And Colton can make that wish come true—if only he hadn’t moved to Coral Canyon after being left at the altar…Annie Pruitt has worked for the Whittaker Brothers for years, and now with the lodge a full-fledged mountain resort, she’s the full-time maid up the canyon. She’s getting older, and she’s … older, and she’s watched all these people come through Whiskey Mountain Lodge who’ve found love.
And she wants to be next.
When Celia bakes her a birthday cake and the whole family gathers for Annie’s party, they tell her to make a wish. Easy, peasy. She wishes for a cowboy billionaire of her own, and not five minutes later, in walks tall, broad, beautiful Colton Hammond.
Colton needs a place to stay after his fiancée leaves him standing at the altar with all of his friends and family watching. He’s left Colorado and he’s not going back. He’s also not interested in women or dating. He just needs somewhere to stay for a few nights, and he’s heard great things about Whiskey Mountain Lodge–but not, apparently, that it’s closed for a private event every year during the holidays.
But the Whittakers are nothing if not kind and accommodating, and they manage to find a bed for Colton. Sparks fly between him and Annie when she starts asking him questions, and with so many meddlers at the lodge, he and Annie really don’t stand a chance of just ignoring each other.
Will Annie’s birthday wish come true? Or will Colton’s scarred heart keep them from achieving happily-ever-after?

It was good to visit with the Whitakers again. When Colton Hammond shows up needing a room right before Christmas he is taken in and made one of the family. Sparks fly between him and Annie, the cleaner for the lodge. She has been a widow for many years and is realizing that she is ready to have someone to love. Colton is in a slightly different place, having been left at the alter just a few weeks previously. I was rooting for them but I have to say I really admire Colton’s patience. Annie is a little too insecure and I really wanted to shake her. This is a fun book because you really have to wonder if Liz Isaacson is going to be able to work her magic and get these two together.
Will Trust Issues Keep Colton & Annie from their HEA?

Yay! The series continues. And this time we get to see Annie find a new happily ever after. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s best read as part of the series. It starts a new subset of books at Whiskey Mountain Lodge, but all the characters from the previous books make an appearance, so it’s helpful to be acquainted with them first. I really like that Annie and Colton are characters that are past the first blush of youth. They have experience, and foibles, and idiosyncrasies. And since I’m in a similar age bracket to them, that makes it very easy for me to relate to them. I loved Annie in the earlier novels, but here she left me scratching my head a lot of the time. Her jealousy confused me. I think it confused everyone and it’s never well explained. She knows what she wants and she’s not above running hell-bent for leather to get it. Even at the expense of the relationship she’s trying to build. I really liked Colton. He’s guarded, but he’s earned that state the hard way. I loved watching him come out from inside that shell. I’m very intrigued by the setup for the next book and I look forward to reading it.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
I really liked this start of a new series. There were so many great characters. I’m going to have to go grab the Coral Canyon series and binge read it before the next book comes out because of all the incredible characters I met in this book. The Christmas and family themes in this book were great. It was wonderful and homey. I also liked the thread of insecurity – that no matter who you are or what age, you may have to deal with it. I liked how it was handled and the push for honesty with each other scattered throughout this book.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Loved Annie and her spunk. Colton frustrated me because he just didn’t see what he was doing to Annie. I thought she was justified in how she felt about his friendliness with the other ladies. Don’t think he would have liked it was Annie doing it – just my opinion. Loved her daughters especially the youngest one. Great ending. Looking forward to reading about the other Hammond Brothers!!!
Liz Isaacson has done it again. This book is so good. I’m really enjoying this series and all the characters of Carol Canyon. I loved Colton and Annie’s story and can’t wait for the next book.
This book introduces the Hammond brothers to Whiskey Mountain Lodge. When Annie is told to make a wish before blowing out the candles on her birthday cake she wishes for a cowboy billionaire of her own. After all, she is surrounded by cowboy billionaires that have found their sole mates there at the lodge! When Colton Hammond stumbles into the party there is an instant attraction—but who is he and why is he at the lodge that is closed for Christmas?? Annie is a widow with two grown daughters and Colton is still licking his wounds from being left at the altar not too long ago. I love the interactions between Annie and her daughters and between Colton and his brothers. I love these clean romances that deal with families and faith. Don’t miss this newest installment in the Christmas in Coral Canyon Series from Liz Isaacson!
It was so much fun to read this story and reacquaint myself with the Whittaker family. What great characters. Colton and Annie story is a fun clean romance. I can’t wait to read the next book.
I love the Whitaker series but gave a 4 star for Annie’s character being so jealous that it upset me. Annie is a woman in her late 40’s with two grown children, her husband had passed away some time ago. A stranger shows up at the lodge where she works and immediately they have sparks for one another. Every time she see him talk to another single woman at the lodge, she gets mad and pouts like a two year old. After they have been snowed in at the lodge for 6 days she expects him to marry her. He takes off for Colorado to finalize the transfer of the family business to the cousins. Will he decide to stay in Colorado or will they work things out? I received an ARC of this book and I am giving an honest review.
I was conflicted about this book. I would rate It at 3.5 stars.
Colton and Annie had an instant attraction when Colton made his appearance for shelter from the winter storm. It had only been 7 weeks since Colton had been left at the altar. Annie seemed a little desperate in wanting to make the relationship what she wanted and when she wanted it.
There was serious instalove going on with Annie and Colton. I felt like they both were rushing into a level of their relationship neither one seemed to be quite ready for at the moment. Her jealousy was concerning. At least, I thought it was, and the way it was resolved was not comforting.
There was a lot going on in this book with a number of people. The Lodge seemed to be a place of friendship, faith, love, and support. There are a number of untold stories there. We are also introduced to Colton’s family. Will that be another series?
This was a sweet romance that didn’t necessarily follow a smooth path. Ultimately Colton and Annie reach their HEA.
