A dangerous game of chess is at work and I don’t know how to play. had one job. Protect Misty. Protect the woman I loved. I’m a cop, it should have been second nature. Instead, I bring evil into our house and she got kidnapped. I have a new job. Find out how a cop from Los Angeles and a cop from New Orleans got together to plot to kidnap Misty in the first place. Dillion would have known he would … would have known he would have gotten busted helping Jake. The who, what, and why aren’t making sense and I don’t know if Misty is still in danger.
I need my friends to look where I can’t legally. Our hunt leads us to a man who only goes by Rook. He’s the link between Dillion and Jake and he’s playing a dangerous game of chess. Rook has pawns and knights under his control and I’m guessing he’s mad as hell someone as small as Misty lost him some of his players.
I’m surrounded by snakes and I don’t know who to trust. I have to figure out who is a knight and who is a pawn so that they can lead me to Rook before anything happens to Misty and my friends.

Casey acts like this big hard a**. Acts as though he has no intention of having anything to do with Misty. But soon learns he is far gone for her that he needs her more than he ever thought possible. He finds his strength and love in her. He at first is jealous and worried he will lose her because she will eventually go back on their agreement and choose one of them over the rest. But in reality, she loves them all individually and as a whole. They work like a well-oiled machine with Misty. Casey will stop at nothing to protect and make Misty happy. He doesn’t quite realize it at first but Misty is what he has always needed in his life. She completes him. And although he didn’t listen to his commanding officer, I am glad he wasn’t killed in the blast. Misty and the boys would be devastated. I wonder what else Rook has up his sleeve for this group and I wonder even more now what he wants with Misty.

This book was given to me by booksprout. I am leaving this review freely. This is the second book is this series and I am enjoying this book very much. It has fun, hacking, raiding, and other things. It does tell about a great relationship that just keeps growing. Hope you enjoy and hope to see you at the next book.

the second book in the Dangerous Chess series, we see more corruption by cops, drug deals, and a kinky strip club that uses blackmail for leverage.
you can read this as a standalone, and you will enjoy the personal and relationship development between the main characters.
as part of the series, it is revealing how widespread the network of blackmail. drugs and property and other theft goes.
our fearsome ex military band of buddies and their woman Misty have a tough road ahead, trying to unravel the network and stay safe in the process.
adult erotica along with the bullets, bombs and beaurocratic bs.

This book turns up the smut and the heat outside the bedroom too. They realize that the case goes deeper than Jake and Dillon. Are the boy really ready to play chess with this chess master are they prepared to possibly lose their queen in the process???? This book is hot and heated I can’t wait to see what happens in book three.
This is the second book in the series and follows on from the first one. It contains enough background information to read this one first, but I recommend reading Fugitive first.
The pov is from Casey, which took a couple of pages to get used to, but gives a different viewpoint in this series. The action is fast paced, the bedroom bits are steamy., This is one of the better erotic stories I have read.
The story might be on the shorter side, but is worth the money. You feel Casey’s frustration and how Misty helps to keep him calm.
It’s a real page turner, JB gets you hooked in quickly and before you know it, you’re at the end and biting the nails to get hold of the next.
this is a series I thoroughly recommend. An erotica with a decent story-line. Not to be missed.
Her Cop (Casey)-A Contemporary Reverse Harem Series (Dangerous Chess Book 2) by JB Trepagnier is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that i read. I highly recommend this story to everyone.

This is a good follow-up. I like the fact it is written from the point of view of a different character. After an initial summary of the first book (just in case you haven’t read it), the story progresses. An element of mystery is introduced and sets up the storyline for the rest of the series.
I am really looking forward to reading book 3
He only had one job keep her safe but she ends up getting kidnapped. It seemed there is a game of chess being p!she’s out and she is a lawn in the game. He has friends who can go to places he cannot. Why was she taken? Who has her? Can he save her? Follow him through this game to see if he can

4.5 Stars
This is a somewhat continuation of Fugitive: Misty but it specifically reads as the Casey is the main character and he is telling his side of how he felt for Misty and again now on how Misty keeps him on his toes while continuing to have daily struggles with his job.

This is the 2nd book in the series & while I suppose it could be read as a standalone, my personal opinion is you should read ‘FUGITIVE (Misty) Dangerous Chess 1’ first. This way you’ll better understand all 5 characters, how they came to be together & their dynamic.
Book 1 explained how Misty came to be living with Casey, Andre, Aiden & Gareth & why they are so protective of their beloved Misty. The 4 Knights saved Misty from an evil enemy in the 1st book & but in this 2nd book as Casey (a police detective) delves deeper into the defeated enemy all 5 are horrified to realize that the REAL foe is an unknown & powerful Chess Master only known as ROOK, has his pawns, knights & Queen on a board that covers the entire U.S. & is orchestrating his/her pieces for a much larger & darker game then Casey & the others could have ever imagined.
And now, with their digging, Misty & her 4 Knights have come to the attention of ROOK . . . .
Again, IMO the author does an excellent job of character development, we learn more detailed background about Casey: his past relationships, his career, his personality & why he shuts himself off from Misty & his friends. There is a lot of tension & the addition of ROOK & his players into the plot really ramp the suspense up. I continued to be very interested in the 5 main characters, their feelings & dynamic. I also found the plot to be as fascinating in this book as the 1st. I love how despite his inclination to be possessive of Misty, Casey fights the urge because of his love & respect for his 3 lifelong friends.
But the overriding focus & concerns of Casey & his friends is to protect Misty at all costs.
I very much liked this entry in the series & look forward to reading the next two.

This is the second installment in this series.
Casey is trying to link Misty’s step-father so other corrupt cops. While investigating its taking a toll on him and he starts to isolate himself more from Misty and the other guys. Misty isn’t about to let him brood alone and constantly shows up to talk to him about his day. Casey gets even more connected to Misty by her way of caring for him but he still stresses about whether they’ll be able to bring her step-father down. Will his investigation lead them where they can keep Misty safe from her step-father?
This is a great story and will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what will happen next. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

Casey is a force of nature and a walking mystery.
I liked that the entire book was in Casey’s perspective, and there was no switching back and forth guessing who’s POV it is.
The pace of the story keeps on picking up and is every bit as enthralling if not more than the last installment.
My second book by this author. I’m thrilled I picked this face paced series of hers. I’m totally hooked.
The story continued where book one ended. From the first page to the last had me wonder who did it? Can Casey figure this mystery out as he and his best friends protect Misty? I can’t wait to find out!
This is book tow in a series. Definitely need to read the first in the series. I do not feel that a reader would be able to fully follow the story line without having done so. Not quite enough clear references to first book
This book follows one of the guys, Casey, and his thoughts and reactions as the story progresses from book one. At times I found him to be a bit shallow or insecure. Have a hard time with that because of his profession. Not typical of the ones I know.
I felt like this book was written too fast after the first one. My ARC copy had a continuity issue that I need to work out in my head so story would work. Hopefully, author will fix that soon.
This is my honest and freely given review. I received an ARC book.
I should have started with the first of the series, got lost a little in the first chapters, but after that, I was caught by the suspense. And interesting take on a RH story. The tension and sex scenes are very hot. A very good book!
