Great book
This book is special because beyond the great story of two souls finding each other we have quirky people, some with special needs, among teams of the great folks who work to keep us safe every day. These several aspects give the story extra facets of interest
It kept me on the edge wondering what would happen next. Want to continue reading the series.
I would rate this book more than 5 stars if I could! I love Brookes’ writing style and this one did not disappoint.
Didn’t enjoy the read sorry.
Loved this book, it is very good. I love how you think you know everything and have it figured out and then it throws you a curveball.
Many women who could be perceived as weak actually prove to be strong in character and will do anything for their ‘family’. Loved that the women were very smart. Good love interests with a twist. Criminals have depth as well.
It was to long from I did not get with the story
Wow, just wow! Loved it from the beginning. When the new Chief is meeting his staff, he runs into his deceased sister’s best friend not seen for over 10 years. She is socially awkward and the descriptions of her quirks are delicately handled. Our Chief’s parents and sister were killed 10 years ago and the killers are now stalking his sister’s friend. Lots of crazy adventures and fearful activities. Well developed story leading to the killers! The love story is HEA and delightful!
Awesome book, real page turner. Loved the characters so much I bought 2 more books in the series.
This book had a lot of potential. It just moved too slowly for me to enjoy.
Well written and a good read; however how many books and in what order do you have to read them to find out complete story of who killed Marshall family? And now do Benny’s 5 daughters become five more reads?
I not only loved this book I followed it up with the next 3 in this 1st series. The book has fantastic characters, a great plot, and it is well written.
Good as a stand alone but intrigued me enough to continue the series
I enjoyed the characters the most especially that one of them had asperBerger’s syndrome. And another PTSD from childhood traumatic incident
It had twists as the two were being pursued by unknown men trying to kill them
This book is so good I bought book 2 and I’m reading it now. Love it.
It is challenging to imagine the faults and complications on a human life amidst a major tragedy. This book provided an interesting insight into many perspectives of PTSD and how it can happen in anyone’s daily life. There is so much truth in this family of friends it is very fun to get to know each of them and their quirk’s.
Romantic suspense, indeed. I really enjoyed and will read other books by the author.
I liked the story but there were so many elementary grammar errors that I was more annoyed than entertained.
3 stars
Ten years ago, Gabby saw her best friend, Sara, and family killed, through a webcam. Sara’s two older brothers weren’t home and that’s the only thing that saved them. The killers were never caught so the case has gone cold. Gabby works in the computer forensics department of the police department along with her best friend Bryanna. Elliot is the new Chief of police and one of Sarah’s brothers. He has never stopped searching for his family’s killers. Gabby and Bryanna have been quietly looking into the murders when Gabby’s apartment is broken into. Elliot takes her home with him ( just to protect her ) but doesn’t want to let her out of his sight. The closer they get to finding one if the killers, the more dangerous it becomes.
Ok the suspense was thrilling and I like a little more romance to my stories, the characters are good. The thing that got to me was the editing, it was horrible. I would have to go back and read certain parts because I had no idea what was being said. There is a cliffhanger. But I honestly couldn’t put it down.
