All Taylor Clark ever wanted was a normal life and a traditional family, but so far she’s had neither. Soon after discovering that her boyfriend was secretly engaged and she moves to Charity, Montana for a fresh start, she realizes she’s pregnant. As her new friendly and sexy landlord helps her settle in, they become friends, although Taylor has to keep reminding herself to keep her distance. The … The last thing she needs is to start something new.
As an ex-con, Joe Collins knows a little something about fresh starts. Despite his determination to keep his head down, he can’t ignore Taylor’s natural beauty or obvious vulnerability. In short time, a tentative friendship blooms along with something more precious—trust.
When Taylor’s ex comes to town, he threatens everything that Joe and Taylor have built together. Joe steps up to care for and protect her, even though he risks losing more than the woman he loves.

This is the 1st book I read by Lynne Marshall. I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 3 because it was boring.
Sad situation to start but loved how the characters evolved and resolved their issues.
The characters were wonderful and came to life with the writing. Such a sweet story and happy ending. Loved the thoughts of the characters to help them make decisions. Loved the story.
Great characters and great read. Thank you
This story had the potential to be a great book. It started out well, but I got really tired of her obsessing about him being an ex-con, especially because of the reason he went to prison. I also get tired of books where the main characters close themselves off from relationships because they’ve been hurt in the past. That’s life, folks. Roll with the punches.
A Sweet Story! Really cute and quirky story. If you’re into “clean” stories then this is definitely the book for you. I prefer a little steam in my stories so I tend to pass these type of books up. Still a good story!
Easy and fun beach read.
tragic mistakes lead romance
Taylor and Joe were interesting. Taylor was a bit judgmental for my taste, Joe had a good heart and I liked Taylor’s neighbors. The book did have a hea, but not something I would read again.
This is a sweet contemporary romance. If you want steamy this is not that book.
The characters were more realistic than most romances. The plot was more complex than ” boy meets girl – boy looses girl – boy gets girl”
It was really a fun read
A woman who has endured abandonment by her parents as a child, and suffered unhealthy relationships with men finds herself pregnant and alone. An ex-con rebuilding his life finds himself drawn to her and wishing for a future he has only dreamed of. In a town called Charity full of wonderful characters who support each other, they build a friendship and love for one another. Written in a slow and deeply detailed manner, the story seems to dwell on the negative, live in the past more than the present, and take forever to reach a happy ending with few moments of happiness to get there.
“Her Baby, His Love” is Book #1 in author Lynne Marshall’s “Charity, Montana Series”. Lynne has long been one of my favorite authors, and one of the things that I enjoy most about her books is that they are never predictable. She infuses her stories with interesting twists and turns, and there is always an element of surprise in the story lines. “Her Baby, His Love” is a very contemporary romance featuring lead characters who have not only made mistakes in their pasts, but are still struggling with a number of personal issues in the present day. Taylor Clark and Joe Collins ended up in Charity, Montana at different times, and for different reasons. but with the same goal in mind: a fresh start. Each one of them has made some not-so-wise choices in relationships, and despite their immediate attraction, they try to remain just friends. After moving to Charity,Taylor discovers that she is pregnant by her cheating ex-boyfriend, who married another woman and tried to still have a relationship with Taylor. Joe reveals that not only is he himself an ex-con, he works to help other ex-cons start over in new lives. Taylor has serious trust issues going back to her childhood and then continuing through her relationships with men. Joe, who has always had free and easy relationships with women, knows that Taylor is someone special, buy he doesn’t quite know to act around her. The road to future happiness is a rocky path for Taylor and Joe, but anything worth having is worth fighting for, and with growing trust and friendship–and love waiting ahead–they will find their way. “Charity, Montana” is an excellent contemporary romance series from talented author Lynne Marshall.
I liked the idea of this book, but…
The protagonists were both trying to start over after their own troubles. Joe was a great guy who sincerely grabbed my heart. I had a problem with him having convictions and then suddenly sleeping with the girl. Especially after explaining why he had them.
Taylor was someone I wanted to like, but she didn’t seem completely believable. She was clueless about guys so many times and then judged Joe. The on again off again was hard to follow.
The antagonist was the bad guy for all of about five minutes. The conflict was resolved way too quickly.
Because of the premise I wanted to give this book a higher rating but just couldn’t.
Very charming and sexy.
This book was entertaining but the typical romance.
Enjoyed it
An easy read
