Intriging,
A great conversation piece about a great author. Made me want to read Hemingway’s novels again!!
A big waste of time. Bad,
I always knew Hemingway led a strange life but perhaps this book explains why.
P
Kinda boring.
The hunt for Hemmingway’s manuscripts leads Ryan Bodean and Megan Simons to Cuba. They have Arthur Bannister, leader of the cult , The congregation for the light. Bannister is looking for the gold that Hemmingway hid in a vault. This is an exciting adventure that puts Ryan and Megan in danger. A thrilling conclusion to this mission.
This is a clever and original idea for a story, based around a real event in Hemingway’s life, the theft of his manuscripts from his wife.
The story includes a secret society ‘The Congregation for the Light’ who have agents in positions of power throughout the world, and who intend (surprise, surprise) to rule the entire world.
So far so good, and the tale is certainly exciting, but unfortunately I found the writing style rather odd, I’m not quite sure why, but the prose seemed rather stilted and didn’t hold my attention as much as it could have done.
So, a good book, but it could have been much better, possibly with more editing?
I received an advance copy of the book, but this is an honest review.
