Melissa
They say there are defining points in your life – moments where you f–ked it all up, moments that make you its bitch, moments that shape you into the person you are.
The day I met Braxton Ward was one of my moments.
My name’s Melissa Hart, and I don’t think you’re ready for this story.
Hella
I go by a few names: Hella, Brax, 112, or, depending on … by a few names: Hella, Brax, 112, or, depending on whether I’ve been balls deep in you or not, C-nt. I don’t push the boundaries because in order to do so, one must have them. I’ve never had them. Being homeless at the not-so-tender age of fifteen morphed me into an emotionless shell, and when The Army recruited me, that shell turned into steel.
They say if fire is hot enough, it can melt steel; the hate that burns between Melissa Hart and me just might be hot enough.
Shit doesn’t come easy for us. Enemies are expanded, secrets are revealed, and lives will be taken. Yeah, I’m Braxton “Hella” Ward, and you bet your f-cking ass that you ain’t ready for this story.

Hold just a minute. Where the hell did this come from? I thought Beast was intense, but bloody oaf intense and alpha are massive f*cking understatements to describe Hella and Melissa. I loved it. The raw passion and the intensity of how they feel for each other vibrated off the screen. It was so palpable I felt like I was gonna suffocate from it. And holy crap, if I didn’t just make the connection between Melissa and Millie and Raze. Damn. It sucks cos I read Razing Grace before this but it ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. I honestly have no words. None. I’m so f*cking speechless as to how to express my love for this book. And the connections? And the sex? Ugggh. Out of this world amazing. I loved the references to the All Blacks and New Zealand. Churrrr, the All Blacks. Despite living here in Kangaroo land, New Zealand will always have a soft spot in my heart. And the Tim Tams? Bruhhh, I died. If there ever were an award for best alpha male? It would be Hella. But then again. There’s Raze. Ugggh so hard to choose.
Hella and Melissa. The chemistry these two exuded is unknown to this world. That was some crazy love/hate relationship going on with them. But my fave part? The softer side of Hella. The side only Melissa can bring out of him. Motherf*cking SWOON. I swear, Amo just keeps giving me more and more reasons to love her and it’s addictive. AMAZING READ!
5 crazy stars!!
This is book two in “The Devil’s Own” series and I don’t think I would read as a stand alone. I believe you can if you must.
This is Hella and Melissa’s book. Holy Shit! I was nervous about Hella’s book, I thought for sure I would wanna slit his throat.
Hella made me fall for him. Damn it. Melissa is a lot more then we thought. And the two of them together is HOT!! They both have fucked up past and crazy as it is something links them as well.
I have a feeling who our secret villain is but I will keep to myself. But shit is getting crazy. You know I was gutted at the end of the last book but the end of this book I was ANGRY!! This club can’t seem to keep away from trouble.
Hella is whole different person then book one. I mean we never got the real Hella. Fuck he is crazy and psycho but when that hat is on backwards he is everything a wet dream is made of. So many hidden surprises with that fucker. I love it.
Melissa surprised me. I worried for her quite a bit. Dealing with Hella in itself was a hard task, shit it was big enough to destroy a normal woman. Good thing Melissa is a survivor and bad as she wants to be. I think I may have a woman crush!!
This book is fantastic. I fell hard for Beast and Hella grew on me but this book was perfection!! Alright on to the next!!
Ah Hella. How the mighty have fallen. Head over heels. All those cliches with a side of twisted and MC.
Melissa deserves to be bathed in love and protection after what she’s endured. But this woman is strong, independent and fiery. She can put this man in his place and out of her mind. Until danger bring them together again and the biggest danger is to her heart.
Hella does not want an Old Lady even when Melissa takes over all his waking thoughts and those of his sleep. When he discovers her secrets, he’s a man on a mission.
But danger lurks and The Army is still out there. And all that trouble comes knocking on their door.
HEA? Ummm. Yeah, the HEA neither had ever dreamed of. But they own their craziness and are all in.
I cannot wait for Razing Grace!! Already one clicked part 1 and 2!
The story line was okay, the character work was fantastic but this book did not have the best flow to it. While I enjoyed the book because it was part of an ongoing story that started in previous series (Sinful Souls and Westbeach) by this author there were some major issues. There were spelling and grammatical errors galore. There is the issue of not bothering to use the local dialect and slang for the areas and the areas that the characters hail from. There is the issue of redoing conversations from previous books, but changing those conversations completely. There is the issue of time lines not quite matching up; in Losing Traction (Westbeach 1) Melissa and Phoebe met when they were little girls and grew up together until Phoebe was sent to New York, however in this book it says that they met in high school and were friends until they both left Westbeach. The book seemed to skip all over the place. The situations between Hella and Melissa was too unrealistic. Theirs is such a toxic relationship and I would advise anyone in a similar situation to leave immediately and never look back. That being said, I oddly like them as a couple. I would like to think that at some point they might actually grow up and act like a half way decent person to each other. Melissa’s whole friendship with Nyx had the timeline and the amount of contact that they had changed from the previous book, which the amount of contact I can understand since the previous book was about Meadow and Beast. There is also the issue that in the first part of the book she stayed for three weeks when in the first book she only stayed for two weeks max. There is also the issue that in this book she went home alone whereas in the previous book Meadow took her home. If you are using and editor, I highly recommend finding a new one as each and every one of these errors should have been caught and addressed long before the book made it to print.
This was a great read! I loved Hella and Melissa was so snarky too! Definitely recommend
Following on from book one but this time we hear from Hella; I immediately fell in love with Hella’s alpha male ways, the love hate relationship between him and Melissa at the beginning was so full of sexual tension that it scorched my kindle! Hella aka Brax was a complete arsehole towards Melisaa which just made me fall in love with him a whole lot more.
After book one, I wasn’t sure if this series was going to hit the mark for me as 136 Scars didn’t feel like the usual Amo writing whereby she takes the reader on a journey full of twists and turns galore making you second guess everything she’s telling you; waiting for the big reveal, the one you didn’t see coming. However, all that is rectified in this book. There are so many questions and no answers… That’s the Amo I have come to know and crave! This book kept me captivated from the beginning and I can see now that book one was the pathway into a much bigger story, one that I know is going to leave me feeling like I have been hit repeatedly by a baseball bat!!
The ending had me instanting grabbing book three and diving in! If you love Amo’s twisted mind jump on board The Devil’s Own Series… The testosterone levels of these bikers will leave you needing a cold shower!
Wow. It doesn’t take long for the action to start.
Hella….is one sick violent dude. Even before “the army” he was on the wrong side of the tracks. After he crosses a line when he’s a teenager, his life changes, making him into the man he is today. He’s arrogant, a player and you really don’t want to mess with him. But boy does he do something for me. I loved Hella so much.
Melissa has suffered through some pretty traumatic events in her past. She comes across as a bit of a party girl but really she’s just trying to cope. When she meets Hella, sparks fly between them. There’s a fine line between love and hate as these two soon find out.
With The Devils Own club still determined to find and end “The Army” once and for all, Melissa finds herself up close and personal with Hella when she has to move into the compound. With the re-appearance of someone from Melissa’s past, the plot thickens and just when you think you know what’s going to happen next, another curveball is thrown at you.
I love this MC club. The characters are brilliant. Maybe not “normal” but you can’t help but love them, flaws and all.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series and I’m really hoping Amo Jones does a book for Frost…he is one sick little puppy. I definitely need to delve into his head and see what makes him tick.
There are some pretty gruesome, graphic scenes described in this book (which I have to admit made me love it more) , it is all relevant to the story but be warned if that’s not your kind of thing.
