I adore Lisa’s books, and I thought Marrying Winterborne couldn’t be topped, but…this one is so good, I couldn’t put it down, even after finishing it–so I started reading through parts of it again!
This is just exceptional! Terrific characters and banter. I’m obsessed.
Any book by Lisa Kleypas is magical, but in HELLO STRANGER, she weaves an enchanted spell over the reader. Kleypas creates such likeable, complex characters and vivid imagery, you feel part of the emotional struggle and intriguing storyline. I couldn’t stop reading and at the same time was regretting I would reach the end and have no more wonderful story left to enjoy. My favorite read of the year so far!
I am obsessed with this series. If you love Historical Romance, or even just thought of giving it a try, this series is a great place to start!
Awesome romance!!! Hello Stranger is the 4th book in the ravenel series and it’s Garrett and Ethan’s book. Garrett is a woman phycian and Ethan is a spymaster, how can two such different people fall in love? Between the passion, suspense and intrigue in back streets and alleys these two such different people will find a passion and love that can last a lifetime! Lisa Kleypas is a awesome storyteller and one of the best romance writers,I love her characters and this series is one of my very favorites! And I love spending time with the ravenel’s they are so interesting!
I loved Ethan every time he appeared in this series, so I was looking forward to his book. I always found Garrett to be interesting, though far from warm and cuddly. How would they mesh in an entire book together? Apparently the answer is brilliantly.
Oh my, Ethan made me totally swoon! The way that man had with words just made me melt. And speaking of melting, even though Garrett was tough, she was warm and gooey inside when it came to Ethan. (The whistle….the whistle was beyond romantic.). Their love scenes were so sensual and truly romantic. When there was a crisis for Ethan and Garrett, I was seriously bawling my eyes out.
This book had spies, lots of intrigue and suspense, and that lovely sex I mentioned earlier. One of the best things, though, was the presence of West. I LOVE his sense of humor. I’m thrilled to hear that his is the next book! Which is amazing, considering I couldn’t stand him in the beginning of the first book.
On a side note, Garrett’s character was based on a real person, the first female doctor in England. How cool is that?
Very emotional and excellent!
I won this ebook in a little contest and have chosen of my own freewill to write as good of a review as possible. Both the book and author deserve awesomeness.
I fell in love with the main characters and enjoyed the emotional upheaval it created. From the words of love spouted desperately to the love of ones life, to a funny West bringing humor in moments of seriousness. (Have to read West’s book nowl)
The book kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Excellent writer, amazing feels, awesome character building!
Excellent read!
OMG! I absolutely LOVED this book!!! Wow the hero was sooo sexy. What a man!! He sure ruined me for a real man!!!
One of the best books I read in years. Great fun while telling an amazing story based on a real life woman doctor. The humor and characters are just amazing.
“I don’t have a romantic bone in my body,” said Dr. Garrett Gibson. But she does, oh, she does! Not as romantic as the dashing Ethan Ransom but just enough.
This mismatched pair quickly became one of my favourites, with their strong traits and unconventional professions. The suspense added lots of fun to the story and my favourite Ravenel, West, appeared frequently throughout. So excited that the next book is his story!
Can’t say enough good things about this book! Definitely one of my favorites!
A return to the Ravenel family this time the main character was inspired by a real woman who earned her medical degree in 1870. Dr. Garrett Gibson, has the honor and also the headache of being the only female physician in England. On her way home from her duties one night she is waylaid by three men and receives the help of Ethan Ransom in making short work of them. This is the beginning of friendship and slowly budding romance between the two. Ethan, a former detective from Scotland also happens to be a Ravenel through his mother’s affair with the old Earl. Ethan wants nothing to do with the Ravenel family but soon he and Garrett become embroiled in government plots and family requests which make for a great story. Entwined in these plots are some of the issues Garrett faces as she tries to pave the way for acceptance as a female doctor. A wonderful story that in the end of course they live happily ever after. Adult Sexual Content which you can skip over and still fully enjoy the book.
An amazing 5 stars for Lisa Kleypas’ Hello Stranger! This has been truly one of the best books of 2018, a tale that kept me turning the pages long into the night! I immediately fell in love with Dr. Garrett Gibson’s characters, she is gutsy, strong, and knows what she wants. She is also very sweet and loving! I also really enjoyed reading about a female doctor, who challenged all those around her and the times in which she lived. She a very relatable character that I feel many women will feel drawn to. Also, our hero of the tale, Ethan Ransom who is also very strong, yet very sexy and passionate. He’s also a very secretive man, a former detective for Scotland Yard, and soon readers will know all that’s hidden within.
Kleypas’ writing is as impeccable as always, I just absolutely love how she draws the reader in and really gives them a true, deep look into the characters lives, one can’t help but feel they know the characters. She also throws many twists and turns with lots of tension throughout the book and really takes her readers and her characters on quite the ride. An amazing author that I highly recommend to anyone! I absolutely loved Hello Stranger and can’t wait to read more of the Ravenels’ in coming books!
I loved each of the characters and look forward to reading more about them in subsequent books. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
I adore Garrett! She’s a unique heroine in profession and personal nature. Ethan was a sexy devil, and I found his protective notions sweet and charming. I enjoyed their romance, full of light-hearted repartee and passionate emotions heightened by the suspenseful thread of Ethan’s undercover work. I can’t wait to read West’s story!
As the only female physician in England, Dr. Garrett Gibson must be a bit unconventional, and she sees no reason not to embrace it. But this is the first time she’s even been tempted to try her hand at an affair. Former Scotland Yard detective turned spy Ethan Ransom is charming and seductive, but he has secrets and while Garrett knows he’s a well-trained assassin, no one seems to know whose side he’s on. He’s willing to give her the night of passion she craves but insists they must go back to being strangers once he leaves her in order to ensure her safety.
As the unrecognized illegitimate son of the former Ravenel earl, Ethan is uninterested in having any connections to high society, but Garrett captivates him. He knows he should stay away from her for her safety, but despite his caution, she’s drawn into his perilous world anyway. When his plans go drastically awry, Garrett’s skills will be pushed to their limits to save him. As they confront a treasonous plot within the government, Ethan becomes increasingly determined to have a future with Garrett, no matter the risks.
I adored this book! I think Ethan seems to be underrated as a Kleypas hero and for me he gave Rhys Winterborne and even Cam Rohan a run for their money. He had so much dialogue I wanted to highlight (but sadly couldn’t since I listened to the audio) and he was just so sweet. I loved the development of his relationship with Garrett and her struggle to express her emotions was incredibly relatable for me. I love that although he was trying to keep his distance to keep Garrett safe, Ethan never prevaricated about his feelings for her, but instead was up front, open, and honest with her. I also loved that Garrett knew what she wanted and was determined to have it, unafraid to stand by her man and work as a team with him. This book had so many passages I wanted to return to, and I think it’s one of the most truly romantic books I’ve ever read and certainly that I’ve read of late. I enjoyed the setting outside the typical aristocracy and our rather unconventional hero and heroine. Beyond all that, I also really loved the seeds of a brotherly/familial relationship being sewn between Ethan and West. Having never had that, Ethan didn’t really know how to proceed, and West’s humor and genuine nature smoothed the way for him and had me falling in love with both characters. This book was sexy, emotional, and suspenseful. Ethan and Garrett showed great development as individuals and in their relationship and their dedication to each other. My only complaint here is that I wanted an epilogue just to have a bit more time with them and extend that warm fuzzy HEA feeling with these characters I adored. Mostly, I loved that this couple was open with each other and their conflict was an external one they faced together rather than one brought about by lies or miscommunication. This one is a new favorite for me and now I’m on to West’s story.

Hello Stanger is the book I didn’t know I wanted in this series. Yes, I wanted to know more about Dr. Garrett Gibson, but Ransom was on no consequence to me. As the story moved on, these two slowly became one of my favorite couples in the series. The chemistry between these two flies of the pages giving us an amazing story.
Ransom and Garrett were a great couple. Two lost souls that found each other. This was a very sweet romance.
A great series
