Some books, while relatively quick reads, grab your heart and just won’t let go. That is what happened to me with “Hello Love”
Dan is still grieving the loss of his wife, Christine. It has been over a year since her death and he feels stuck in the grief that has overwhelmed him since Christine died. Friends and family have been wonderful and counselling helped begin the healing process, but it is Anni, a small mixed-breed dog, who has done more to help Dan as he has grieved his wife’s death. Anni intuitively knows what Dan needs and though she is unable to speak, just her presence provides comfort and healing. When Anni is stolen, Dan and his daughter are devastated.
Andrea Keller also is stuck in grief. A wandering husband who left her for a younger woman have left her feeling shaken and robbed her of her confidence. In an effort to put the past in the past, she attends a “Create Your Own Future” workshop; something her friend Jade has wrangled her into attending. Jade, ever the optimist credits the workshop with changing her life after she attended the year before. Andrea finds it just a tad hokey, but attends and participates all the same.
Circumstances lead Andrea to rescue a small mixed-breed dog from tenants who are abusing the animal. Circumstance also is working to bring Dan and Andrea together. I’m not giving away the ending, but it left me smiling.
A warm cozy read. You want to say – Wait! There she goes………
This was the perfect book. It had a sweet little dog who took center stage in the story. If you want to read a perfect, happy, feel good book, then you have just found it! I just want to read it again so I can be happy all over one more time! Five sparkly stars for Karen McQuestion’s Hello Love!
I wanted to read a fun book before I went to bed each night, and this one did the trick! I felt the characters were well developed, and while at first I was confused by the two story lines, quickly realized how they fit together! I definitely recommend this book if you are a lover of dogs, and if you like happy endings!
I did something with this book that I rarely do. I read the entire book in one day. I just didn’t want to put it down—I had to find out what happened next. I’m a huge fan of dogs, mostly preferring their company over that of most humans. That this story has a dog as the main focus grabbed my attention immediately. I must say I fell utterly in love with little Anni!
I truly liked the major human characters in this book as well, as they all seemed like people I’d love to have in my life. A few minor characters are there to be those that we love to hate.
The storyline is easy to follow and keeps you interested, and I highly recommend this book for a great and heartwarming weekend read.
Hello Love is a tear jerker that captivates the reader hoping Annie makes it back home .
This book is a lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon in Georgia. Sweet.
Hello, Love by Karen McQuestion is the story of moving forward. A year after the death of his beloved wife, Christine, Dan is barely holding on. The only thing that gets him through the long and lonely nights is their cherished dog, Anni. One night, Anni is stolen from his front yard, Dan and his teenage daughter, Lindsay, are devastated and do everything they can to find her and bring her home. Meanwhile, in another part of town, Andrea Keller is recovering from the heartbreak of a messy divorce. While servicing a notice to tenants, she recuses a defenseless dog and her life changes in ways she never could have imagined. Providence causes Dan and Andrea to cross paths again and again and slowly they are drawn to each together but unable to
Make that final connection. Will Anni find her way home? Will Dan and Andrea find a second chance at happiness?
Hello, Love is a heartwarming story of finding love a second time. It was an easy book to get lost in and devour in a day. I could not put it down as I waited to see if Anni would make it home and if Dan and Andrea would truly end up together. I loved the growing tension as each potential meet brings Dan and Andrea closer together. There are moments of laughter and moments of shock and tears. Dan and Andrea’s lives are filled with wonderful, colorful characters which help push them outside of their comfort zones and closer to each other. It’s not an overly complicated story and it’s not a book that takes itself too seriously. It is simply a “feel-good, read in an afternoon” kind of book. If you are ready to set back and read a heartwarming, feel good story, I recommend Hello, Love.
Hello, Love is available in paperback, eBook and audiobook.
Cute story and of course, I always love a book that involves animals. This was read pretty quickly, as I couldn’t wait to find out how things would end. I wasn’t disappointed.
One day while Dan was not home his daughter Lindsay let their dog, Anni, out and Anni is stolen right from their driveway. Shortly after Andrea gets a call at the property management business she manages about an abused dog in a pet free apartment. When she goes to check it out she finds Anni chained on the balcony in the snow and no one home, so she lets herself in and steals Anni.
I really enjoyed this book. the characters were interesting, the plot (and subplots) kept my interest, and the ending was great.
Truly enjoyable book from an author of several good books. Great storyteller.
I enjoyed reading Hello, Love by Karen McQuestion. It was what I would call a feel good read. While the main character Dan and his daughter Lindsay had lost his wife/her mother the year before, Andrea was getting over a divorce. Anni, Dan and Lindsay’s dog, was kidnapped and the rest of the story uses the universe to pull all loose ends together. The main characters were sweet and those who weren’t you were meant to hate. It was a quick and easy read if you are looking for something fun and if you love dogs.
Awesome read. Loved the characters especially the dog. This is a must read. I simply could not put it down.
This is my first book by author Karen McQuestion. While I’m not a huge animal lover I did enjoy this story. It came highly recommended by several people in one of my book groups. It’s a cute, easy to read, happily ever after story. I also just finished Good Man Dalton by this same author. I highly recommend both these books. I’ll be reading more from Ms McQuestion for sure!
This is a cute book. It’s a fast read; I read it in a day, a rainy dreary day. I am a dog lover, so I loved that one of the main characters is Anni, a fun loving dog who is stolen from her family. I was a bit hesitant when the book started and the main character, Dan, is reflecting on the loss of his wife, Christina. I so didn’t want a downer of a story of loss. I was pleasantly surprised as the story was about Anni and how she is stolen from Dan and Lindsey, his teenage daughter, and eventually ends up with Andrea. Now, the story is a bit predictable, but a cute read on how good things and timing can change your life.

As you can tell, Anni is the center of this story. It is a very heartwarming tale. And Anni is one heartwarming dog!
Sweet, heart-wrenching and so worth it!
You could have these characters in your own family or neighborhood, they are so real. The story grabbed me and kept me listening/reading until I finished. Could Not do anything else!
Despite the jerks who stole Annie, and Marco, this is a very sweet story. It was clear from the beginning what the end has to be, but the road there is twisted and winding, keeping me on my toes rooting for Anni, Andrea, and Dan. I love dogs very much and appreciate a story centered around one!
One of the reasons why I gave this book such high praise was because of the meticulous planning Karen McQuestion must have put into when developing these two stories. It’s easy to write two stories and an ending, but what Karen wrote was more than just two parallel narratives.
Take a second to think about this: Have you ever wondered if you’ve ever met, or knew someone who might have known, that special someone in your life before you officially met them. Maybe your paths cross in a bookstore? Maybe you sat behind that person in a movie theater? What if that person was in a car accident that you happened to pass on your way to work? Karen delicately weaves little details like that (but not those mentioned) into Dan and Andrea’s stories.
A sweet story about a dog, and the silver lining that comes from Anni getting dog-napped.
I enjoyed reading this book. I found it ,realistic, love the ending. Picked up this book at a consignment store .I found myself not being able to put it down. I’m a pet owner and know how my fur-babies make me so happy.
OMG!!! Loved this story!!! As a long-time dog mama, I love HEA doggie stories. They’re such a really nice change for all the sci-fi/paranormal/crime/thriller mysteries I typically read.
