From the New York Times bestseller Brenda Novak comes the next installment of Dr. Evelyn Talbot and her murderous home for psychopaths in Hello Again. SHE CAN MAKE SENSE OF A COMPLEX CRIMINAL MIND. Evelyn Talbot, a psychiatrist at a maximum-security prison in Alaska, studies some of the world’s worst serial killers. But she’s about to meet her most elusive patient at Hanover House yet: Dr. Lyman … patient at Hanover House yet: Dr. Lyman Bishop, AKA the Zombie Maker given his fondness for performing ice-pick lobotomies on his victims. A brilliant cancer researcher, Bishop is either the most cunning psychopath Evelyn has ever encountered–or he is wrongly convicted.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A CRIMINAL CAN SEE INTO HER OWN?
When a new ice-pick fatality occurs, it seems Bishop really was wrongly convicted. Except…Evelyn has a personal connection to the victim and that suggests the killer may be someone from her own past: Jasper Moore, her high school boyfriend who tortured her and left her for dead when she was only sixteen. Jasper also murdered three of her friends–and was never caught. Is he trying to send a message with this copycat crime? The only thing Evelyn knows for sure is that if Jasper is on her trail, she might not be able to escape again . . .

One of the best thrillers, I have read in awhile. Awesome characters and compelling storyline.
Hello Again (The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles #2) was another great read by Brenda Novak. This book was the second book in the Evelyn Talbot series. Evelyn is the psychiatrist who started Hanover House, a maximum security prison in Alaska. It is here that she studies some of the worlds worst serial killers. It is here that she meets Dr. Lyman Bishop, a cancer researcher, who performed icepick lobotomies on his victims. But while he is in prison another ice pick fatality happens, so it seems Bishop may be wrongly convicted. There is a personal connection between Evelyn and the victim, so it could be Jasper. I really enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
Another thrilling installment in the Evelyn Talbot series. I love this series. The psychopaths Evelyn studies at Hanover House are very interesting. My only problems are the amount of stupid decisions Evelyn makes along with her indecisiveness in her relationship. I know we have to take into account the trauma from her past. But, I’m ready to see more progress from her character. Looking forward to Face Off.
Nothing beats a Brenda Novak book!
Exciting and nerve-wracking , this installment had it all! Things are picking up and Evelyn is in for a some hard times. There are enemies everywhere and the stage is set perfectly for the next book. Loved it!
Love this series!
Wow this series just keeps getting better. Hello Again had me totally hooked. I was hanging on the edge and eager to sneak peeks ahead. I stayed up all night just to finish it. I feel Evelyn has really grown in this series from book 1. I also feel that Amarok and Evelyn’s relationship has grown a lot too. The romance does take a back seat to the suspense but it’s such a thrilling book that I don’t even mind. Evelyn took some big steps in this book. I loved that she opened up more to Amarok and that she trust him completely. I really wish she would commit more fully to him though.
Amarok was just as awesome as he has always been. I love me some Amarok. Although I will say I was a little annoyed at the whole ex girlfriend part of the plot. I was very upset that Amarok danced with Sam(his ex) even if it was just so he wouldn’t hurt her feelings. I would have liked it more if he would have looked at her and said I don’t want you go away lol childish I know.
Poor Evelyn, she’s got psychopaths coming for her at every turn. Not only is Jasper Moore (her high school boyfriend that tortured, raped and tried to kill her when she was a teen) still coming after her, she also had an ex coworker acting more like a prisoner than a psychiatrist, and she made an enemy out of the Zombie Maker. I have to say that being in Jasper’s mind is so creepy. Knowing his plans and seeing him work his way into Evelyn and Amarok’s life had me yelling at my kindle. I can’t go into too much without spoiling it so I will just say that Jasper is a sick, sneaky, and crafty, sob. The ending …omg….was so wrong. I needed more, and now I have to wait for the next book. I can’t believe Brenda Novak is going to make us readers wait til next year to find out how it all turns out. Patience is not my virtue. Overall this book was well written, thrilling, and everything I have come to expect from Brenda Novak… I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I absolutely LOVE this series! I don’t read suspense novels like I used to but if they were as intriguing and awesome as this book then I would read so many more of them. Brenda Novak writes (Romantic) Suspense novels like no other, and she incorporates just the right amount of romance. I enjoy seeing the progress in Evelyn and Amarok’s relationship. Especially Evelyn has grown so much in this book, and I can’t wait to see more of it.
There is the main villain who appears in each book but there are also individual cases and serial killers who are being studied by Evelyn. I love that there is a main plot-line that continues throughout the series, each book it gets more intense and I love it. But I am also glad that there is a separate case/killer being analyzed each book. I also love how everything just comes together. I am glad that we get the killer’s (Jasper) POV, because I want to know what is going on in his mind. He is one evil twisted guy, and I can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve. I need the next book ASAP!
I love this series! I gave this a 4 star because there are so many different point of views. You have the main characters and then new characters all giving their snippets. Too many people talking at once in my opinion. I love the suspense, I love the romance its not over the top graphic. This is now one of my favorite series!
An awesome series!!
Evelyn Talbot is a psychiatrist, devoting her life to unraveling the minds of the remorseless killer. Hanover House was opened in a small, remote town close to Anchorage, Alaska, housing 250 of the most dangerous felons in America, included 37 of the worst serial killers. Sixteen year old Evelyn Talbot was kidnapped by her boyfriend of six months, Jasper Moore, and held captive for three days. In those three days, he tortured and killed her best friends, Marissa, Jessie and Agatha, and brutally attacked and raped Evelyn. Jasper set the shack on fire, but for some reason after Jasper left, the fire went out before it did too much damage. With a broken leg and one eye swollen shut and pain in every part of her body, Evelyn managed to get to the road where a passing motorist found her. Jasper got away.
Benjamin Murphy, aka Amarok, an Alaska State Trooper and Evelyn’s boyfriend, is researching murders across the country where the female victims bore a stricking resemblance to Evelyn – looking for Jasper’s “signature”.
I really liked this book but hate the cliff hanger ending! This is the third book in the series, but definitely a stand-a-lone book. There are twists that I didn’t see coming and am waiting anxiously for the next book.
Excellent book. If you like a thriller with suspense, this is for you!! I can’t wait for the next one in the series!!
I love it! I love Brenda Novak
We are back once again visiting HH otherwise known as Hanover House in Alaska. Dr. Lyman Bishop is the newest psychopath patient checked into HH under Dr. Evelyn Talbot’s care. Bishop was convicted of committing ice-pick lobotomies but then another ice-pick murder occurs and his conviction comes under question. Meanwhile Jasper Moore, the person who kidnapped and tortured Evelyn is back again on the hunt to finish what he started twenty-one years ago when she escaped. Should the murders not be enough for you a female has returned to town. She is Amarok’s old flame and looking to get him back. The mixture and weaving of the story lines kept my pages turning. Another great read by Brenda Novak. Warning: Adult Sexual Content – which you can skip over and still fully enjoy the book.
Another great book from Brenda Novak…Hello Again was a page turner for me. I hate when I had to put it down to do housework…lolI had no idea who was the killer at the end. Dr. Evelyn Talbot was brave to stay at Hanover House. I know she wanted to study the minds of psycho serial killers, but after all she had been through, I don’t think I would have stayed. This book had me leaving the lights on at night. Hello Again starts off with her finally living with her boyfriend state trooper Amarok and dealing with a new serial killer called the zombie maker because he uses ice picks to do a lobotomy on innocent victims. Also, her ex-boyfriend Jasper is still on the loose continuing to kill women who look like Evelyn. I hope the next book Jasper is killed in a horrible way like how he kidnapped and tortured his victims. This was a suspenseful book from the beginning until the end. I don’t know how I’m going to wait for the next book coming out next year.

A great read!!
I volunteered to read Hello, Again. Loved it so much
I bought a hard copy of the book.
Hello Again will grab you, hold on to you, and play mind games with you from start to finish! Although it is a standalone book, it is [let’s call it] the next story of Evelyn and her work. Trust me, that is a VERY simple explanation for a story that is complex and compelling. Since I’ve been following Dr. Evelyn Talbot’s story, I couldn’t wait to read more.
To put it simply, Evelyn was attacked by a serial killer when she was younger. She survived, barely, but went on to study the worst of these killers, and started a prison institute in Alaska where she could do this. The story opens with her dealing with a brand new “inmate”, Dr. Lyman Bishop, or, as the story names him, the Zombie Maker. Reading about his victims will make you shiver! It is ALL about the suspense, so it plays out all in your head – chilling! Evelyn also has a relationship with Amarok, the local law enforcement, and it really doesn’t begin to describe the depth of feeling between these two. Although she is making progress with herself, Evelyn still has trouble trusting – with people and within herself ; she and Amarok have a touching story.
I will say that this story is one wild ride and kept me reading until I could get to the end – it gripped me and never let go. I love stories that play out mostly in your head – not a lot of blood and gore – because anything I come up with is always “more” than words on paper. Ms. Novak hit it out of the park again, IMHO. Hello Again has mystery, suspense, psychological thrills, is fast-paced, and the building of a loving and trusting relationship between Evelyn and Amarok. Great read that scares me because it CAN happen…the author really delivers a thrilling ride!
Although Hello Again is easy to dive into, I strongly suggest reading the previous books in the series to get a better understanding of all the characters. Each book is connected, and Eveyln’s worst nightmare gets bolder and stronger.
I love this series. The characters are all interesting, and the events that occur never bore me. Evelyn’s psychological studies and interviews on rapists and murderers keep me glued to the pages. A perfect amount of suspense, mystery, and romance. I can’t wait for the next book!
