This is such a wonderful series & though I always read the series in order; they can easily be read as stand alone books. I love the author’s ability to come up with such unique, interesting & original stories for her characters to live out. I really fell in love with both characters in the very beginning and it took them years to finally re-connect & heal old misunderstandings but Hallie has secrets & Arthur knows his family will never accept someone without a title & good standing family name. Their journey to a HEA is full of lies, obstacles & dangers that test their love but they never give up on their second chance at love. I highly recommend this book & the series!
Good story with returning characters from first book. Love to read stories that tie characters together. Just as in the first book, Ms. Gill brought in some exciting drama with the fire (#1) and the kidnapping (2) which keeps the reader riveted to find out what happens. Glad to see in both books 1& 2 that the main male characters FINALLY stood up to interfering parents. As the author probably wanted, I got fed up with the matriarchs!! On to book 3.
Hellion at Heart is the second book in the League of Unweddable Gentlemen series but, it can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed reading this book and I think I liked it better than the first book. It was well written, fast paced, full of emotions, and had great characters. Hallie and Arthur were perfect for each other and I can’t wait to read the next book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Great second book to the Unweddable Series. I really loved Hallie and how she took control of her life. Arthur bothered me a bit but he came around! Overall, I really liked their story and their HEA. Hallie being an archeaologist was interesting and I enjoyed that aspect of the book. I wish it was a little longer to really show more of the villain- he felt a little incomplete. The HEA was so touching it just also felt like it occurred quickly. Not complaints just things I noticed. I still highly recommend.
When I saw the cover of the book, I assumed the hellion was the H of the story. How wrong I was. The author took some creative license in creating the h character. I am glad she did. She is an amazing individual who lives and walks to the beat of a different drum. With the encouragement of her father she grew up to become an Archaeologist, Egyptologist, Historian. The day before she left England for Egypt, she met the H. She was returning from the funeral of her father and he was hitching a ride. There was instant attraction there. He was a rake and a rogue but somehow, he found he felt a connection with her that he could not forget. Years later she returned from Egypt and they ran into each other. The h fought not to show her interest in the H. He could not keep his eyes off her. Since she left, he began to change his ways. He left behind the rowdy rakish friends he had and cultivated healthier ones. She was wary of him. But life is funny sometimes and they shared mutual friends. So, they were always thrown together. He wanted to firmly see where his feeling would lead. He needed her to accept his suit. But the h had a huge secret that even her best friends did not know and she loathed to have it revealed to anyone. It would mean the end of her career and bring shame upon her and those she loved. Little did she know an evil man intend on revenge knew all her secrets, blackmailed her and threatened to reveal all. Eventually the evil man did expose her for the fun of it. Wishing she and her loved ones would burn in hell for a wrong he perceived done to his cousin. Although the H thought of himself as a progressive man accepting the h just as she was, when it came down to it, he walked away from her. That was not the end of the evil man. He would not be content until she was beyond redemption and dead. An excellent story. A must read. You will not be disappointed.
Hallie Evans is intelligent, independent, and has made a life for herself as a skilled archaeologist. She has returned to England after several years working in Egypt. She becomes reacquainted with Arthur Howard, Lord Duncannon. They begin to fall in love, but Hallie has a big secret, and she is afraid it will drive Arthur away. She right. Arthur doesn’t react well when he learns what she is hiding (thanks to a nasty villain). He doesn’t act like much of a hero. He acts more like a pompous jerk. Is it over between them, or will he go with his heart and make it up to Hallie? He’d better; Hallie is in danger.
Arthur was not my favorite hero for while, but he was able to redeem himself. He truly loved Hallie. He just needed to build up the courage to be her hero. This is a great love story. The hero finds courage and gets the girl, and she gets him. A sweet little boy gets a wonderful father. A nasty villain gets what’s coming to him (at least a bit of it). I enjoyed Hallie and Arthur’s story and the epilogue was the perfect ending.
A chance meeting meeting on a cold night brought Hallie and Arthur together for one night. But that one night would change her life. The next day she set out on her journey to Egypt were she was going to be an archaeologist’s assistant. That in itself was amazing!
Now she is back in London, after the dig was over and her employment ended. But wonder of wonders, having to deliver the last finds of the dig to the London Museum, she found out that Arthur was not Mr Howard, but Lord Duncannon. He had fooled her three years ago.
In her new work, she is going to work as an archaeologist to hopefully find some artifacts on some of the estates in England.
As they meet again, at a house party, where Hallie is doing a dig, the attraction still sizzles between them. But she has a secret and somebody is trying to pull her into a scandal and get revenge.
What will happen? Can these two who met by fate come together for a happy ever after?
Loved this story and highly recommend. Cannot wait for the next in this series!
This is the story of Hallie and Arthur, when they first met Hallie did not know he was a Viscount, they had one night together and then he disappeared. Years later they meet again. Hallie has secrets and is not really the type of women Arthur’s family would want for him. There are times, I really like Arthur and then there are times I wanted to shake him. When an author can make you feel these emotions, they are good. This book has a villain, which brings a little extra to this love story. I will say I enjoyed the epilogue. This is the 2nd book in the League of Unweddable Gentleman, but you do not have to read the first book to enjoy this book.
A few years have passed when Hallie Evans and Arthur meet again. Neither has forgotten the other after their chance encounter when Arthur’s friends had played a trick on him and he turned to Hallie for help on a cold night. Hallie left an impression on Arthur and he’s never forgotten her. Hallie has now returned home from Egypt and Arthur is determined to win Hallie’s heart this time around. Hallie’s secrets she thought buried come to the surface with blackmail and Arthur must choose between his love for her or his family. A captivating story of an independent woman who has secrets and a man who’s determined to win her hand in marriage at all costs. An excellent story I loved and I voluntarily wrote a review.
What a great series!!! Hellion at Heart by Tamara Gill is book 2 in the League of Unweddable Gentlemen series. Though in a series this book can be read as a stand alone. Tamara write the most amazing and original stories, I just can’t wait for her new releases and Hellion at Heart is no exception. They are easy to read and I find her characters are wonderful. You fall in love with them all. This story has a very intelligent heroine, misunderstandings, cruel pranks, death, protection, blackmail, evil, never giving up and a second chance at love. I highly recommend you read this book.
I enjoyed this book. For the most part I liked Hallie a lot even if she had me wondering about some of the decisions she made and the actions she took. I will say that I truly felt for her though and if I am completely honest, I thought she really deserved better. I was not really a fan of Arthur’s. I can and will forgive weakness once but repeat offenders are another matter. I felt that he was weak and that his actions were inexcusable and in my opinion unforgivable. Still overall, this was a good read that had an engaging story to tell.
Hellion at Heart (League of Unweddable Gentlemen Book 2) by Tamara Gill is intriguing Regency Romance set in Egypt and England.
While book 2 it can be read as a stand alone, book 1, “From France, with Love”.
Well written and well excuted. Fast paced with well developed, if flawed, characters.
Filled with mystery, secrets, intrigue, revenge, blackmail, heartache, villains, prejudices, and romance.
Follow, Miss Hallie Evans and the Viscount of Duncannon, Arthur Howard, on their journey of danger, finding love, forgiveness, redemption and second chance romance.
I was intrigued from the first page to the last. Arthur, and Hallie, are a couple that makes you want to say, cry at times and laugh others. There are times when you feel this couple will never find their place in society and their HEA. The storyline flows seamlessly and effortlessly.
A delightful story with a few surprises and twists and turns. The epilogue was great. Strongly recommended, for readers who enjoy strong heroine and hero’s redemption, England, Egypt, archaeology, secrets, and a beautifully crafted story.
“I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review.”

A wonderful story about a woman that takes her life in her hands and becomes who she wants to be. She stands for herself and even society’s strictures can not take from her who she is at heart.
She has things in her life she hides just because she doesn’t want to hurt those closest to her, but she earns her dream of being who she is.
She made me want to cheer for her!
Another Tamara Gill Classic. This story has mystery, heartache and another villain!
Hallie Evans’ father has decided to sell their home and sent her to a finishing school, in France. He then bought a small cottage where the two can live comfortably and one day Hallie can own a home. She finishes school and tragically her father passes. The day of the funeral (and day before she goes abroad as an archaeologist’s assistant), she meets a man who needs a lift back to the inn. Mr Hawk (actually Viscount of Duncannon, Arthur Howard) is smitten immediately. The two after some wine spend the night and he is whisked away in the morning by friends and she must leave. Now some years later she arrives home and is hired as an archaeologist for a Baron. The money is very much needed for private reasons. Arthur is still smitten and wants only Hallie. During her stay at her employer’s home she meets the pig Mr. Stewart. He is seeking revenge, and starts threatening, harassing her. He even results in more villainous means to get what he wants. Arthur must throw years of expectations to the side of the road and rescue Hallie but making her his will require a lot more strength, strength that is needed in the end.

My review :
When two estranged lovers rekindle years later, will her secret tears them apart …
When I began to read this second installment, I do remember Hallie talking of her late lover, the one she lost in Egypt.
Still I didn’t see coming this story.
Hallie is a very progressive woman, determined on the path she wanted to follow. While her first encounter with Arthur ended bitterly. When they meet again the resentment of their parting is lingering between them plus some life changing event on Hallie’s side.
I am not for hiding at all cost secrets, it is the right way for pain and deception. But on Hallie’s case, it was her only option. The area’s society was unforgivable. As a woman in her position, she would have little left to go with if her true condition were known.
What I understood less was her to be so reckless with Arthur, she risked much the first time, and here again she faces the same consequences and their heavy cost.
To be it was more lust than love at this time in their story.
Arthur is a nice man, but rather fickle. He lost Hallie the first time because he was unable to stand for himself against his friends. Since he tried to get her forgiveness for his hasty departure. But when he decided to woo her against everything as she is the total opposite of the classic bride required by his family’s standards, I thought him with more backbone.
Until he showed his true color.
Hallie is a better soul than me as I would have loved more groveling on his side. Yes, love must always win but when a party is wronged, a bit of bootslicking is welcome.
It was a fun read, Mrs Tamara Gill portrayed a strong woman figure, a woman able to provide for herself by her cleverness and hard work. A woman who accepts her emotions and fully lives them. 4.5 stars for this vibrant portrait of a strong and resilient woman.
I was granted an advance copy by the author and I also preordered my own.
Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

I thought this was a beautiful love story of patience, loyalty, and tolerance. You know I was not sure if I would like Arthur but he turned out to be a wonderful hero with a beautiful personality. Yeah, he was a jerk for a short period of time but he realized his bad reactions for what they were and vowed to make it up to Hallie. I admired Hallie for taking back her life and building a great life with her son. There is a villain in this story and I personally thought he should have gotten more than what he did even if it was Newgate. I loved this story of Arthur and Hallie’s love and the epilogue was epic!
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I have never been disappointed by any of this authors books and this book was no different. It was heartbreaking in sections, made me laugh in others. This is a beautifully crafted story!
Several years ago Miss Hallie Evans rescued Mr Arthur Howard when his friends had played a trick on him & had abandoned him on a cold night. Hallie was returning from burying her father & was preparing to travel to Egypt as an archaeologist’s assistant. Now she’s returned & has found work as an archaeologist working for the rich, Hallie explores and studies the ancient ruins excavated on their properties. The Viscount of Duncannon, Arthur Howard, was beguiled after a chance encounter with Miss Hallie Evans several years ago. She left an impression on him that never faded. This is the second book in the series & is easily read on its own, although we did meet Arthur & Hallie in the previous book. A well written book with strong characters. Hallie was not in any way your typical early nineteenth century woman, she was an intelligent, feisty woman who needed to work for a living, she had a huge secret, which would totally ruin her career prospects if it came to light. She was passionate & had loved twice. I admired her for forging a life for herself. Arthur had the reputation of being a rake but after meeting Hallie he changed & became responsible & hardworking. I liked him & loved how he’d changed until he nearly blew it but he did redeem himself. The book flowed well & there was a lovely mix of blackmail, revenge & romance. The villain is horrid & blood thirsty me wanted him to suffer far more! I would have banished Arthur’s grandmother as I found her to be totally despicable
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
