Wow this book was like nothing I’ve read before. This is the first book that I’ve read by Author Esther E Schmidt and it won’t be the last. I’ve actually been one clicking her books for a while but just never got around to reading them and for that I could kick my own butt.
This book is the first in the Death by Reapers series and it was amazing .
I loved the characters so much the men totally swoon worthy alpha bikers which I love strong female mates who don’t take crap from anyone. I loved the banter between them all and the protection they embrace their mates with.
Alistair is the president of the Hellhound’s Reaper charter a paranormal hellhound who meets his mate in an alley where she is protecting herself from a drunk stranger. One sniff of Elaina and he knows that she is his mate yet there’s something different about her as it turns out she’s part human part witch only she doesn’t realise that part of her because she was protected by her mum. This series is about good versus evil and the twist ? Well you will have to read this book to find out more.i loved it and plan on going into reading book two now. Which is Jagger and Tess story.
No messing about here it is straight in with the heat, first sight first scent. Both characters recognise the pull to each other, Eliana without really understanding what it means at first. This is paranormal at its best and mixed up, I love how many different species turn up. I also like how though it is serious there are light moments that made me grin and chuckle a bit, it made it seem real somehow in amongst the crazy and imaginative concept. I really cant wait to read more of these guys and see if Alistair gets his wish. Esther has done a great job with her first paranormal story it had me believing in these creatures existing, they sound both awesome and a bit scary, especially if you happen to be on the wrong side of them. This author has never written a bad story yet and this is no exception, I could have carried on reading for many more hours and not got bored. I truly felt the flames and the heat and wanted more.
What do you get when a match made in heaven and hell literally? The most powerful couple to ever Grace the earth, he’s part hell reaper of souls and she’s part heaven guardians of innocents, something that shouldn’t have happen but it did. They’re made for each other regardless of circumstances, author Esther E Schmidt did a magnificent job with this book, mixing MC and Paranormal couldn’t get any better than this in my opinion, please don’t hesitate to give this series a chance.
Holy freaking shizzballs! I don’t often dip my toe into PNR but when I do, I am never disappointed and I love this author. I was definitely not disappointed with this and I one clicked the rest of the series before getting to the end of chapter two!
Alastair is shocked when he gets to a job and realises that he has met his mate, she knocks him for six. Eliana is so confused! What the hell is going on?
This book is lightening speed! But I totally loved it! There is so much going on, the chemistry between Alastair and Eliana is fire!! And his VP gets more than he bargains too!
Can’t wait to read the next one as Jagger is mentioned in this one!
Hellhounds (Death by Reaper MC #1)
OMG! Alastair and Eliana, what an amazing story. This was Esther’s first paranormal book and I have to say that she did a hell of a job. Great start to the Death by Reaper MC Series, can’t wait to read more about sexy bikers with paranormal abilities. I really enjoyed it and would give this book more than 5 stars. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal stories and MC stories.
I don’t normally read paranormal stories but I’ve got faith in this author and as it’s her first paranormal story I thought I’d give it a go. I’m so glad I did as this was a brilliant read.
As I read quite a bit I crave unique storylines and this is what the author gave me with a cherry on top. I absolutely loved the MC aspect of it.
I’m so looking forward to reading more in this series. The author has brought her own uniqueness to this story and I’m craving more already.
I can’t even with this book…..seriously!!!!! It has all the things I love in a book. First its by one of my favorite authors, second paranormal!!!!! I love, love this genre.
Alistair is super hot in more ways than one. Yes, pun totally intended! He’s the Prez of the Hell charter of the Death Reapers MC. He has a duty to stand by his brotherhood, and the rules of the supernatural world. His job is anything but easy at any given time. But when he’s ordered to do said job and pick 2 to reap, he is faced with the challenge he wouldn’t accept: taking away his mate. Even as a “human” she attracts him in aways he’s never felt before.
Elaina has always felt like an outsider. She’s never been accepted in the way she deserved to be. A few months before her meeting Alistair for the first time she discovered she had a half sister. Little did she know, her sister is a supernatural being as well. What’s even worse is finding out her unknown father has had something to do with the command to take her soul. Thankfully what she finds with Alistair is a connection that is unheard of and undeniable. She has the chance at a real life where she can be the best of who she is.
But in order for either one of them to make sense of any of it they have to conquer their demons. Literally! Their fated mates for a reason, and they will discover why soon. The whole family gets involved and from there everything becomes earth shattering and chaotic. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially one that can throw down and battle like no other.
I was blown away by the depth of each of the characters and their full ability to just grab you and pull you into their story. Never mind the fact that there was a whole lot of paranormal goodness that I had not expected. For this being a first time genre for the author I’d have to say its a winner! Awesome book!
This story will have you glued from the first page. I love how this is outside of her normal MC world but at the same time it is in her MC style. Don’t know what I mean? then you will have to read Hellhounds for yourself. you won’t regret it. Not your traditional good guy vs. the bad guy. I would love to be a fly inside of Esther’s head, to s
First, I love paranormal books. Second, I love Schmidt’s writing. So, it is no surprise that I loved this book. This lady knows how to write books! This book will grab you from the start and you will be wanting more when it’s all over.
Great start to a new series & I can’t wait for the next one.
WOW!!! For Esther 1st Paranormal romance she did amzing job.. I really hope she keeps this series going and we found out what other paranormal MC chapters she comes up with.
So I went into this book a bit on the fence. On side I was like it’s a paranormal and that is not my go to typically and the other with I have loved everything Esther has written. Needless to say I went into this book with a open but hesitant mind frame and I can honestly say that I am so glad that I gave it a chance. Esther did such a great job giving us an interesting story that gives us the background/history as more of a conversational delivery than pages and pages of background that completely bore me. I loved the story line of this book and I found it impossible not to be completely engrossed int the story and sitting on the edge of my seat eager to see how it was all going to play out.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal book and to those like me that don’t normally read these types. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

What a wild ride. So much action. Buckle up, this is NOT your momma’s shifter story! I would love to spend a day in the adventureland that is Esther Schmidt’s brain!
Alistair was alpha to the max. He was the president of the Death By Reaper MC- Hell charter. He shifts into a Hellhound, and reaps unredeemable souls, ridding the world of bad guys. He sees Eliana and knows she is his mate. He is 100% devoted to her throughout the entire story.
Eliana was a great heroine. I’m not a fan of OTT alpha heroines and she had a great balance of strong yet soft. I liked that she didn’t fight Alistair on being his mate. The drama was just how I like it, from outside sources and had NOTHING to do with OW/OM!
– no cheating
– no ow/om drama whatsoever there was a comment made by Os, the VP, that I wasn’t crazy about, saying “are we sharing this one” in reference to the heroine. Could have done without that. I’m sure it was the authors way of setting off the hero to show his devotion towards the heroine. Thankfully we didn’t see any of that throughout the story
– no pushing away
-great secondary characters that we didn’t have to see with others
– no club whores
-club violence
– great epilogue 12 YEARS in the future- I was so thrilled
Let me start off by saying that I am a huge Esther E. Schmidt reader… I’ve read all of her published work to date. With that being said I am not normally a PNR reader… But HOLY HELLHOUND does she knock this one out of the park. Not that I expected any less from this author, but damn, she’s going to end up turning me into a PNR reader in no time, or maybe it will just be her PNR books.
Not only is this a Paranormal book but you have the aspects of an MC (which is my all-time favorite genre).
If you read Paranormal pick up this book. If you read MC and not much into Paranormal, pick up this book, I promise you will not be disappointed. Miss Schmidt has the ability to write a new genre that will completely suck you in and not let go.
I personally cannot wait to see where she takes the Death by Reaper Series next.
