Oh My GAWD this series just gets better and better!!!! I’m officially in love with Melisande and all of her guys. They are finally coming together as a cohesive unit and I am HERE FOR IT! Of course, being as this is Hell not everything is sunshine and roses. The struggle is real for Melisande but she stops at nothing to get what she is owed. I don’t think I could pick just one guy out of her harem that I loved. They were all great in their own way and I loved all of them, even when I hated them. Not only are they great but I also loved the secondary characters, Vyra and Haru. This book perfectly sets us up for the epic battle that Mel has been fighting for and I can’t wait to read book three!
Liked book 2 even more than book 1! I loved seeing the relationships really take off between Melisande and her men (besides the one that was a hold-out that will make up for it, I promise!). I thought the relationship with Belial was heartbreaking and frustrating but I was all there for it to see how they finally would come together. I thought Azael and Lucifer shine in this one and my heart broke with a couple scenes but loved seeing things get steamier and more connected between the harem. I was glad to see the plot have the twists/turns I was expecting, as well others I didn’t. I totally didn’t expect the ending (I felt like I should have but I was in the same boat as Melisande hahaha). I really am enjoying this series, the story-telling got better as the book went on. The baddies are great in this series, I am waiting on bated breath to see how the group handles them haha. I liked the ending, couldn’t wait to start book 3 once my subscription allowed me haha. 4.5-5 stars for this sitting on the edge of our seat story, for the growing love and wall-breaking relationships budding, for the side characters we are getting to learn more about. Great sequel!
Narration I thought was good again, only feedback would be on Alexander’s female renditions, he sounded sometimes screechy/whiny. I thought his emotions with the men were amazing, very specific to each character and it was spot on! Sarah again did a fab job with her performance. Loved the relationship between Melisande and Vera, they made me snort a fair bunch which I wasn’t expecting haha.
Holly hell. Damn the ending, wow.. I can’t wait for the next book girl.. loved it. Please don’t make me wait long for the next one. Highly recommend this series. Make sue you read the first one. Hell yeah
I really enjoyed book one in this series and love Cate Corvin’s books, she really knows how to write a book that keep the reader captivated and coming back for more! This was an interesting second book in the series, I did not like it as much as book one but it is still a good read with world building for what us to come next! The FMC needs to sort herself out, be less sooky and toughen up, she is in hell for goodness sake! The guys all need to stop being hot and cold, commit and leave! I am still excited to read book three and see what happens next but I hope that the characters are more decisive and bring a bit more to the story. Bring on book three!
This was an excellent way to continue Melisande’s story. I loved the push and pull between her and Belial. It was cruel but oh so sexy. This book had so many twists and turns that I couldn’t put it down. That grand gesture at the end was amazing! I need book 3.
Yes yes yes.
Melisande is everything. She is wrath, the embodiment of everything every girl wants to be. She doesn’t give up, falls in love hard and holds onto her love. I love this series whole heartedly and cannot wait to see what’s next!
Ok. I have to say it. Cate Corvin hit it out of the park with Hell to Pay. If you thought the first book was good, you’re in for an amazing surprise with this book. There’s still plenty of action in this book, but you really get to know the characters this time around. There is so much backstory and depth to Melisande, Belial, Lucifer, Azazel, and Tascius. The amount of information we discover in this book is really eye opening and explains why each character acts the way they do-why some are more hesitant in their feelings, the insecurities they have and how they view themselves. It just makes you love them even more when you get to see their vulnerabilities. One prominent attribute of Mel in this book is her pride, and it often holds her back. She was taught to rely on her pride and focus on making independent decisions. She fights with relinquishing that power but soon learns that relying on others isn’t a weakness. It is beneficial to allow others to help instead of going in head first on her own. Having others around that love her really brings out the best in her. However, Melisande isn’t the only character letting pride get in their way. I’m sure plenty of readers will want to punch Belial in the first half of this book because he behaves like a grade A douche. He makes up for it though-no spoilers. You’ll really enjoy this book as you get to know the characters even more and see how Melisande starts to fully accept herself and her powers. She has a lot of potential just waiting to burst free. Satan doesn’t know what’s coming. I have no doubt that book three will be incredible!!
This continuation pulled no punches and just dived into the story pulling you along with it. Melisande just keeps getting more amazing as the story continues. Along with Azazel and Lucifer, I can’t wait to see Gabriel pay for his ignorance. I am so excited for the next book.
Fantastic follow up and I can’t wait for the last book. Wow what a cliffie and I love cliffies!
This one is not quite as dark as the first but it’s a great middle and filled with sexiness and most of the things I loved from the first book.
This series just gets better and better! They are finally coming together as a cohesive unit and I love that soo much! The struggle and the obstacles she has to through are not easy but she won’t stop until she gets what she wants!! I love every single one of the guy’s like hello who wouldn’t they are even when you wanted to just grab them and shake them for being stupid lol!! Overall this book was epic and I’m dying for book 3!
I am utterly speechless. The ending was superb. I didn’t see it coming. I can not wait to see what happens next. Melisande has become such a different person. So strong and determined. She takes what she wants and yet has a never ending kindness and protectiveness for others. Belial will truly amaze you in this book.
I’m so glad that I didn’t need to wait too long for the release of the second book in Cate Corvin’s newest series. Melisande, the fallen warrior angel, continues her journey of vengeance against Gabriel (who sounds like a total ass) while realizing that he may have done her a favor. Despite the pain and the trials, she has found a place she belongs and has built a family of choice.
Book 2 continues to explore her relationships with the males in her life and includes (of course) some steamy sex scenes. While this is a medium to fast burn reverse harem story, the characters are well developed and the story is solid, so you won’t feel like you’re just jumping from one sex scene to the next (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I especially enjoy Melisande’s friendship with Vyra, the succubus. I wasn’t surprised by the “reveal” at the end of this book and I can’t wait to see where the story goes! I gobbled this up over a weekend.
*Spoiler Alert*
Book 2 kicks off where book 1 left off Melisande (FMC) has won her freedom from Belial but gaining it is not all its cracked up to be. Still on her own course to get her revenge on Gabriel as well as Satan too and she has way of getting both. With the help of Tascuis, Azarel & Lucifer. My god these four guys steam up my kindle. They are hotness personified!! Love, Love, Love them!! Melisande is bloody lucky woman. I also love Vyra shes a sweet & funny character & im hoping she gets a little action with Haru?? Fingers crossed for that one. This series is so good i cant praise it up enough. Its just brilliant
Stellar follow up ! I cannot wait for the next book ! This series has been one of my absolute favourites from the jump ! Cate always delivers a great storyline and amazing characters but this series is something special. Hell to Pay is an action packed, thrill of a read, so much has happened between the first book (For the Hell of it) to the second (Hell to Pay). In Hell to Pay we are treated to the strengthening of the bonds between the FMC and her men, Azazel, Belilal, Lucifer and Tascius. Although Belilal isn’t super prominent in this book the moments we do see of him are literally scene stealing. Belilal is a go big or go home type of guy ! I also in particular in this book enjoyed the moments shared by Melisandre and Azazel as those moments were pretty special too ! In Hell to Pay we get to see more of Mel’s iron will which she displayed in book one, as she comes into herself as a ruler, bondmate, and fallen angel ! Mel is no longer afraid to show hell who she is and give them hell to pay ! I cannot wait for book three and to see more of Mel her men and Vyra too ! And maybe even Gabriel if we are lucky !
I really did love this book. The cliffhanger though. And the tension between all the characters is so jaw dropping. I can not wait to read more!!!!!!
Omg this was sooo good. An awesome continuation to book one. So many things happening. I love this author and can’t wait for book 3. Highly recommend.
Everything I wanted in the second book and more. Steamy scenes , nail biting adventure, love, sacrifices, and some alpha attitude. What isn’t there to love?
Holy guacamole!
That ending! I just can’t! I need the third book immediately now, because that ending was a huge bomb to drop on us!
Melisande is as bada** as before, which of course no one could’ve doubted. This fallen angel is embracing the good life, the life of sinfully delicious men that is! I loved getting to see more of Lucifer and Azazel. They’re both very complex men/characters so I think they really did need more “screen time” for us to truly get to know them and now that we have I am SO glad I claimed them as mine! Haha.
I have to admit throughout the first half of Hell to Pay I was constantly wanting to yell at Belial to grow up and get over the fact that Melisande tricked him to be truly free in For the Hell of It. I’m so incredibly glad he finally came to his senses and then did something BIG to apologize for his behavior… I’d tell you what he did but then you wouldn’t be left saying “Oh My Gawd!” like I was, and that simply would be so very unfair.
You definitely do not want to miss out on Hell to Pay, and if you haven’t already begun the Razing Hell series you NEED to ASAP!
Good follow up from bk1 we get see more of Mel and her guys Tascius, Azazel, Lucifer and Belial. The connection between all characters is growing and the experiences each character faced is cool to read. I definitely enjoyed this book and I couldn’t wait to see what happens no spoilers here I voluntarily review this book and my opinion is my own
This book is a great follow up to book one. Only this time you learn more about the men that are in her life now, Tascius, Azazel, Lucifer and Belial. What happens after she leaves Belial? How does this effect Mel? Was she wrong to have done it. The relationships with the other men grow. She may have difficulty with them at times but they get through it. Luckily she has a friend Vyra that keeps her from doing even more crazier things. This book is amazing and will keep you seated at the edge of your chair til the end. So now we must wait to see what will happen. I hope the wait is not long.
