Then she comes to town like a summer breeze and makes me feel things I didn’t know existed.
She has the voice of an angel and the body of a goddess.
But she is running from her own demons. From the Devil himself.
He’s coming to town.
But I’ve walked through hell and survived, and I’ll walk through it again to protect her.
CASSIDY
I’ve spent years running from my past.
Town to town.
State to state.
Never putting down roots.
I wish I could but I can’t. Because I am running from the Devil and if he finds me, he will drag me down to hell again.
Then I meet a beautiful, scarred beast of man who makes me feel something for the first time in my life.
Hope.
He makes me want to stay but it’s impossible.
Because the Devil is coming and when he arrives I won’t stand a chance.

Hell on Wheels is book four in the Kings of Mayhem MC series. While it is a standalone, it is recommended you read the first three books in the series to get a feel for the MC and the family.

An action packed MC read, this is the 4th installment on the Kings Of Mayhem series. Gritty and dirty this is the story of Chance (whom we’ve met previously). Recovering from his last mission gone wrong, Chance is just there at the right time to help out Cassidy. As their paths cross and danger threatens Cassidy, Chance is ready and willing to protect her, as a friend. But the chemistry is strong and with the danger close, these two are destined for more than friendship.
This book was an amazing read. Chance and Cassidy are two broken souls and hiding the pain everyday. But when Cassidy’s horrific past catches up with her it’s up to Chance to protect her. Our of all the book, He’ll on Wheels is my favorite. I’m excited for more from this series.
Hell on wheels is book 4 in the Kings of Mayhem series. It’s been 18 months since Chance came back from war. When he came back, he came back to the MC. He meets Cassidy while she was singing for money. These 2 are so broken they don’t realize they need each other. I love this series and this book didn’t disappoint. From the beginning it will scuk you in.
Love this series. Chance and cassidy have such tragic pasts but find a beautiful love. They fight through so much and find ever after love.
Cassidy is running from the devil. She knows that she needs to keep moving in order to stay out of his clutches. Chance is changed. War does that to a man. But something in Cassidy catches his attention. Can he see past he demos to the hope she brings?
Hell on Wheels is fourth in Penny Dee’s Kings of Mayhem MC series. I loved getting a chance to know Chance better. He has been to hell and back only accepting that he is safe at home is taking a bit of time. I love that Ms. Dee put his demons on display. They are deeper than accepting civilian life and darker than expected. I love that Cassidy’s voice is the catalyst he needs to begin his journey into the light. I love that the same voice that saved Cassidy saves this wounded warrior. Chance isn’t the only one fighting demons. His just happens to be a bit more personal while Cassidy’s are physical in nature. I love that the very thing that Chance fights is necessary for Cassidy’s freedom. But can either of them accept that fact? Finding out is not only half the battle but also half the fun.
I enjoyed seeing Chance and Cassidy negotiate their relationship pitfalls. Trust is hard for both of them. I thought Ms. Dee handled their issues with a deft and compassionate touch. Their demons were dark and sensitive and Ms. Dee respected that. I enjoyed returning to this world Ms. Dee has created. And I hope she will return to it in the future.
OMG I didn’t think Penny could up her game after Caleb’s story but no she has blown it out of the water with the oldest Calley man. Be still by beating heart with Chance!! <3<3
If you haven't read the others in the series please do so before starting this one. You honestly don't want to spoil your enjoyment of these Kings of Mayhem men.
My heart literally ripped in two for Chance and everything he has been through. He has returned home after being injured serving his country and is fighting more then just his physical scars. He is barely living, just drowning himself in the MC and booze until a chance run-in with a California babe that embeds herself under his skin.
I loved Chance and Cassidy. They are both fighting their own wounds, damaged from their pasts. They seem to give each other strength to start living and want more from life.
Im hoping to read more from the Kings of Mayhem and some of the other brothers stories as these guys are totally under my skin,
Well done Penny for a great read
Chance and Cassidy both have demons of their own when they meet and the attraction between them is so prevalent they can not deny it. This fourth book has the same mystery and suspense that I have found in this series. The chemistry between the two main characters is off the chart and I think I just found my new favorite MC author.
This is book four of this awesome MC series. I have to say that this one is my favorite which is saying a lot as it is hard to pick. Chance is the perfect wounded hero who rescues Cassidy but is also in need of rescue.
These two have tragic stories. Chance has suffered abuse from his father and then is the only survivor of a SEAL mission . He has physical and emotional scars which cause him to isolate.
Cassidy has been on the run from her abusive ex and is too afraid to put down roots for fear of him finding her. When these two meet they are drawn to each other.
Such an amazing and well written story. These two characters have so much depth, tragedy and loneliness. They overcome so much and their story is one that sticks with you. I highly recommend this book.
Chance and Cassidy each have their own demons and their own version of hell. Each person has deep trauma that has shaped them into the person they are today. As the devil is bearing down on them can they adapt and overcome the past so they can concentrate on their passionate future. A must read.
The fourth installment of the Kings of Mayhem MC series. After finishing the first 3, I was so excited to see that Chance got a book of his own, especially when he was brought up in Book three and I NEEDED to know more about him.
His time as a SEAL hardened his heart and caused walls to be built so high that nothing or no one could penetrate them… until Cassie came into town.
One look was all it took. Her voice was an angel’s voice in his shattered soul.
But Cassie was running from her own past, scared to give in and scared to stay. Constantly on the run, she believed men were only out for one thing and one thing only. But Chance wasn’t like that and he couldn’t just let her leave.
When her past finally comes out, Chance knows he has no choice but to protect the fallen angel. And Cassie has no choice but to let this beast in and let him protect her. When they finally come together, their walls shatter and the sparks that fly are hot enough to light a fire big enough to see from space. Together, they mend the scars on their hearts and burn so brightly that you can’t help but melt in their presence.
When Cassie’s past comes into town, Chance must do everything he can to protect her.
This book was everything I needed it to be and more. I felt every emotion, dove into the book and felt myself with them at every turn of the page. Definitely a must read.
Now I just need Chastity to get her story! Pssst, Penny Dee, I’m talking to you *wink wink*
Finally getting Chance’s story! After a traumatic career-ending incident and injuries while in the Navy, Chance is finally home and physically healed and starting his life full-time with the MC but continues to live with the scars of his past. The incident in the Navy has caused him to feel that he is undeserving of happiness and/or love, and decides to live his life like that. In the process, he ends up meeting Cassidy, who unbeknownst to him, is on the run for her life from her foster brother. But when Chance saves her and gives her an offer she can’t refuse, she ends up being around him, and from there builds a friendship and confides in him her story. Having feelings for her but not wanting to act on them, Chance decides to protect Cassidy at all costs and through that ends up letting her into his thoughts and feelings. When someone close to her sells out Cassidy and her brother finds her, the hope is that Chance is able to save her before any damage is done but also not take justice into his own hands. I enjoyed the suspense of this book and also the fact that Chance gets his HEA as well as Cassidy! Here’s to hoping we get the youngest sibling’s book or at least more from this MC!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Chance and Cassidy have been through hell. They definitely needed each other so they could get past all the pain they have been through. Their story was heartbreaking and tragic. He was definitely my favorite of the Calley clan!
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
Although this is the 4th book in the Kings of Mayhem series by Penny Dee, this can be read as a stand alone. Chance has a lot of baggage, an abusive father, PTSD, and brutal, disfiguring scars. Cassidy is running from a sadistic, abusive “brother”. These two characters are well written, compelling, and their backstories are heartbreaking. Can they find acceptance, compassion without pity, and something more with each other? All 4 of these books are well written. Do yourself a favor and read them all.
I absolutely adored every heart pounding minute of this book! There is so much heat between Cassidy and Chase, the pages were literally set on fire! When you factor in the danger that lingers in the background of this book, this is a book that calls to my soul! I absolutely could not put it down!
Cassidy had a childhood that was literally hell on earth. Abandoned at birth, and then betrayed by those that should have protected her, she does the only thing she knows how to do. She runs. And then she keeps on running. Until she lands in the Kings of Mayhem’s territory, and everything changes. Chase has his own set of problems. His childhood was also torturous, but he got out by joining the military. Military life suited him, until it didn’t. The horrors of war followed him home, and he wasn’t sure he could overcome it. Until Cassidy.
These two are so broken, it hurts my heart! It’s going to take something special to heal them both, and the author handles it so beautifully! I loved the connection between Cassidy and Chase, loved how well they fit together, into each other’s lives. Despite all of the problems that haunt them, I just couldn’t get enough of their story! And I adore the Kings of Mayhem!
Another amazing book by Penny Dee. This is the fourth book in this series and I honestly think that the series is getting better and better. Who doesn’t love a good MC book, well this one definitely hits the spot. I loved the characters and their story handle me captivated from the beginning to the very end. Fantastic book and highly recommended.
I absolutely loved Chance and Cassidy. Both are broken from horrible experiences in the past and find a wonderful love together that will finally heal them. Chance is scarred inside and out, yet he is a wonderful and loving man who will do anything to keep Cassidy safe and well looked after. Cassidy is strong and fearless although she wasn’t that in her past. Drama, suspense, sexiness, love, healing deep wounds, twists, turns and finding someone from the past you never thought you would see is just some of the greatness you get from this story. If you haven’t read this one, what are you waiting for??
Both Chance and Cassidy help each other out of dark pasts. Chance is one of the best heroes I’ve read!!! Cassidy is strong although she has a lot to overcome!
An amazing book. This story had me on an emotional roller coaster. The chemistry that Cassidy and Chance have was sizzling hot from start to finish. The things they went through was so sad and even excruciating, but they came out of it happy and even stronger. Two thumbs up.
This is an emotional action packed book. Chance has been through hell and isn’t quite back yet after his final Navy SEAL tour went FUBAR. Cassidy has been running from her own hell and ends up meeting Chance when he stops a tweaker from stealing her tips from singing on the streets of Destiny. After hiring her to sing for a MC party, he finds out she’s in danger and is determined to protect her but is determined to just remain friends. Well, we’ll see how long that last. We have a rival MC causing problems, the mayor wants the club to find out who murdered his wife, a nasty foster brother, Swampers, Grandma Sybil and her special brownies and two people learning to live and love despite what life has thrown at them.
My favorite of the series so far, Hell on Wheels is the fourth book in the Kings of Mayhem. Chance and Cassidy both have their demons this is an intense, engaging read and one I would definitely recommend. Be warned this story may contain triggers so read the blub and reviews before reading.
