Was a great beginning to the series. Awesome characters and story
I like to think these two authors shared a beer and sparked an idea that created a sci-fi/horror series. Apparently, that’s not what happened, but something sparked an intriguing idea. That idea? What would’ve happened if the Cold War had ended differently? Or, even more so, if it had never ended? What if it moved off our planet?
Such a cool concept, and these guys handle it really well. It’s definitely got a taste of Alien–bantering crews, horrific aliens, highs and lows–but it has its own unique vibe. I’m looking forward to the ride.
“Seven months ago, Mars Felicity Station stopped communicating.
The crew of the Perihelion will soon find out why.”
The cargo ship Perihelion is sent to Felicity Station after they went silent. The scientists there built a door and something knocked.
Hell on Mars is action packed, with great world building, interesting characters and scary aliens. I ended up binge reading this because I had to know what happened. I’m a huge fan of the Alien films and this book will definitely appeal to other fans. The writing between the two authors is seamless and they make a great team. Highly recommended!
In a few short sentences, I was sucked into the story but never able to sit back in my seat. There was so much happening and I loved that the details were not overlooked. The characters are unique, diverse, really interesting. When I thought I figured out where the story was headed – boom, another twist. It was like a literary bumper car. Can’t wait for more!!!!
Holy shinolli, this was one wild ride! I absolutely love this collab between JZ Foster and Justin Woodward, its easy to read yet gritty, gripping, and twisted. This book leaves you scratching your head every few pages, then rereading to make sure that that did in fact just happen! It is superbly done, and brings to life an entirely new universe, and I can’t wait to dive in and see what happens in the next book! Thank you for the opportunity to review this gem, I love it!
normally I’m not into science fiction, and i havent read many sci fi/horror that could keep my attention but these two authors keep me turning every page until i as finished yet had me asking the question of WTF? Who will make it out alive before the creatures eat them alive or will everyone die trying?
If you have a soft spot for 80s sci fi than this is the book for you. It is a great, fast paced read that will have you dying to pick up the next book in the series!
‘Hell on Mars’ is definitely a horror story infested with action and terror. It’s well written with great character development. The story has just enough technical elements to give credibility while not bogging down in it trying to impress. The drawback is the book is too short, but then series frequently use the first book as a hook to the series. If you’re into SciFi horror, this is a great book.
Very short and simplistic.
