Rose is so much going on in her life right now, having an unwelcome house guest due to her being Lady in Black, trying to decide if it is worth the risk to pursue a relationship with James, and helping solve a murder to free a potential innocent person.
Nightmares from guilt of a death Rose feels she is responsive for.
I sat through the book trying to help Rose weigh her options on the risks if she says Yes to James or No. Trying to see how she can make it work with him.
Violet is home and tension is still high with Mike about Rose. The fear of being lonely and losing her very own sister to cancer. It is definitely an emotional one.
Oh Mason makes me so angry, I couldn’t sleep because of him. Had to keep reading to find out what happens.
This book was full of action, anger, love, heartbreak, suspense. Loved every minute!

I had so many emotions swirling around before I even began this latest installment. I was excited, nervous and worried all wrapped in just the anticipation stemming from the last book. This book did give the most sought after answer to the main question from the previous book, which surprised me. That was one of the things that had me nervous, her answer, but also if it would even get answered yet. I feel like this book is a building block for even better and more mysterious things to come. It has its share of surprises and action, but it mainly answers questions and starts a new twist that I feel will be a main topic in the next book. So far, I LOVE the direction of it and can not wait for the next release!!

Hell in a Handasket will have you laughing from the start, with a hysterically written scene from the Henryetta church picnic. In this book, Rose feels responsible and guilty over the death of an innocent woman in For the Birds, after trying to use her visions to save her life. Rose has a lot on her plate, dealing with a potential relationship with king of the underworld, James Malcolm, as well as her sister Violet’s illness. Rose finds a injured stranger out in her barn, and was sought out after declaring her neutrality. This sends a ripple of waves through the crime world. Of course there is another murder mystery that Rose and Keely Kate must solve, that will keep you guessing throughout the entire book. This third book in the investigation series is full of page turning action and suspense. Denise Grover Swank pulls you deep into the story and you feel like you’re a new resident of Henryetta!

I am on an emotional high right now after finishing this book. I am anxiously awaiting till November for the next addition. Without spoiling the ending, I will say that I wasn’t crazy about the ending. However, I am excited to see how things go from here.I had high hopes for something else to occur, but I understand why Swank took Rose down the path that she did. Putting my feelings about the ending aside, I think the book is amazingly well written and still is one of my favorite series. This was definitely a page turner that will have you on the edge of your seat. There may have been a lot going on throughout the book, but Swank did a wonderful job connecting everything in the end.

Of all the Rose Gardener books this, I believe, is the most emotional book. I laughed, I cried, I cringed and got angry. So good! Rose has some difficult decisions to make and with every Rose and NK book, its impossible to predict the outcome. I can’t wait for the next adventure of Rose and NK!

I had been waiting for this book to come out ever since I finished the previous book in this series. Hell in a Handbasket was definitely worth the wait! This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. I am so happy to be able to catch up with Rose, Neely Kate, Joe, James, Violet, and everyone else in this book. Rose is becoming a much stronger person and I love that she is finally putting her happiness first.
I also like seeing the growth of some of the other characters, such as Joe. I did not think that I would ever like him again. He is becoming much more likable person but I can see that he does need to become a stronger person. I hope Neely Kate can work through her issues and become a better and more supportive friend to Rose. She can be frustrating in this book and in previous books, but I hope she will realize that she can trust Rose and open up to her as well.
I love Denise’s writing and how she can make you feel like you are there in the book without the book ever feeling like there are too many unnecessary details. The case that Rose and Neely Kate had to solve in this book kept me guessing and there were several twists. I also love the fact that Mason is back in this book and I am excited to see where he will fit in to the story in the next book. I have a feeling that his return will cause some major issues for Rose and many of the residents of Henryetta. There is so much more I could say about this book but I do not want to put any spoilers, it is definitely a must read!

Hell in a basket (Rose Gardner Investigations #3) is a perfect addition to this jaw dropping series.
This author creates a world that you will be totally immersed in and characters are real people living in a fictional world that you wish you were a part of. A fresh, fun, highly addictive tale with explosive twists. This author creates a well crafted story with a compelling set of characters who draw you in & keep you captivated and craving more. This novel takes you on a thrill ride that requires tissues. Southern humor, sassy dialogue & siren characters. Looking forward to seeing where Rose’s adventure takes us next. One of my all time favorite series as well as my all time favourite author. I highly recommend checking out all her books.

OMG this book was something I thought I was ready for but Denise had proved me wrong!!! I wasn’t! I’ve been pulled into whirling maelstrom of events and emotions. All kinds of emotions. There were moments in tears then laughter and love and then straight to terrific heart pounding heartbreaking moments. My head is still spinning and I have huge book hangover now. The only thing I’m able to say is I loved this amazing book, another great Rose’s story! There is no need to tell how much I love those characters – they are real to me! That’s because Denise is so talented to make them real. We’ve got some questions answered and more questions produced to be answered in the future books which makes my impatient waiting for next to impossible!
You are going to love this book!!!

The Rose Gardner Investigation series continues as strong and tense as ever. Major events make Rose’s life more difficult as she tries to fit into her new role as the neutral Lady in Black. Many local criminals are willing to support that role, but there are a few people who would gladly destroy her. While much of Neely Kate’s troubles remain hidden from Rose, and are only being revealed to the reader in her new series, shadows of her past influence the newest investigation that she undertakes for their agency.
Excellent but frustrating as always.

Oh my goodness! This book was absolutely amazing! I don’t know how Denise Grover Swank does it but she makes every Rose book amazing and continues the story with such great detail.
Rose and Neely Kate are at it again. They decide to take on a new case as investigators and of course they seem to have gotten in way over their heads. They get into some sticky situations they have to figure their way out of. Rose is also trying to decide her answer to James, does she want to risk everything to be with him or can she walk away from him?
Hell in a Handbasket had me laughing, gasping, and on the verge of tears. It had everything you could ask for in a book. I can not wait for the next book in the Rose Gardner Investigations series, I can’t wait for Rose’s story to continue.

his is the most excited I have ever been about a book release. I was very nervous. I had so many expectations and unanswered questions from For the Birds. What if this book did not answer my burning questions what if I was disappointed in the outcome. I should have known better Denise Grover Swank has never disappointed me before. She actually surpassed any expectations I could have imagined and answered all my questions and left me wanting so much more! I feel each book is the best Rose Gardner book until the next one comes out, but Hell in a Handbasket is by far the best Rose Gardner book by far. I feel I have been on an emotional roller coaster (in all the best ways). I felt every emotion and feeling imaginable. I laughed out loud, giggled, squealed, and groaned in anger and frustration. I am wanting and needing so much more Rose and company! I can not wait until the next installment.

Ack! Where do I even start?! I picked up my first Rose Gardner mystery 4 years ago and have been eating them up ever since. I LOVE everything about this cast of characters. Whenever Denise announces that a new Rose Gardner book is going to be released I feel like a little girl waiting for Christmas. Hell in a Handbasket lives up to all my expectations and more. Over the past 4 years I have grown emotionally attached to these people. I cry when they cry, I get angry and protective, I am happy for them and just out and out love them. I won’t go into the storyline but just know that this book is a must have for any Rose Garner reader. And, if you haven’t read any Rose books, what are you waiting for?
