In Hell Hath No Fury, RC Boldt brings us an unforgettable tale of loss, betrayal, and revenge in this romantic suspense standalone… betrayal lurks around every corner.
Their biggest mistake is underestimating my commitment for vengeance.
They don’t realize that when it comes to a woman like me, hell hath no fury.

This is one of the hardest kinds of reviews to write. I absolutely fell in love with the book and could not put it down until I read the very last page, but if I stop there, it doesn’t tell you why you need to go buy this book. The thing is some of the things that make this book so special can only be appreciated after you read it.
I don’t want to risk giving anything away, so I’m going to keep this review short and touch on a few key things.
Characters- the core cast is small, but amazingly well crafted. As pieces are revealed, I wanted to get to know them better and rooted for them to find a peaceful resolution.
Plot – oh boy! Hold on for one well written roller coaster of a ride! There are twists, turns, intrigue, revenge, helping hands, healing, and …… Ms Boldt does an amazing job of pulling you in and not letting you go.
Hell Hath No Fury is unlike anything I’ve read before and I’m so glad that I’ve had the chance to read it!
Another fantastic story from RC Boldt. What I love is how different it was to her other stories. Lots of action throughout and so much emotion.
Caitlin’s life is changed forever when the Dixie Mafia decide they want her family’s store. She loses everything she holds dear, and when it appears the law enforcement are in cahoots with the mafia, she does the only thing she can; she disappears.
Seven years later and the Dixie Mafia are being taken out one by one. The Hunter is brought in to investigate and put an end to the ‘man’ bringing them down.
Two tortured souls drawn to each other for reasons they don’t understand. Two plans of destruction collide.
Love and hate, betrayal and sorrow. So much heartache and pain. A roller coaster ride of emotions. Absolutely loved it.
Ok, I’m a sucker for a beautiful cover and this cover just looked so intriguing. Totally drew me in. Especially when you see the full wrap. Stunning! SO, yes, I chose this book simply because of the cover and I’ve been wanting to finally read a book by RC Boldt. I’m glad I started with this one, but as I’ve found out, this is a departure from her norm. I’m ok with that because I love a bit of a romantic suspense that is mixed with local Mafia. And with a badass heroine? Hell to the yeah!
This book started off tragically. A family that wasn’t quite perfect from the inside, but looked pretty good from the outside. Then within a second, everything is taken away from Caitlin and the life she developed. I have to say that even though I was stunned at what took place within the first pages, I found what happened right after to be a little predictable. It most definitely drew me in with what happened to Caitlin and her family, but then since we are dealing with local mafia, I knew that the circumstances were not going to favor the innocent. I wasn’t going to turn my back and I had to know how Caitlin and any of her allies were going to deal with life after.
“Live a great story. Life’s too short to give up before THE END.”
Then all of a sudden we fast forward 7 years after the tragic incident. I’ll be the first to admit that I was disappointed that we didn’t get to SEE what happened during those 7 years (although we did get a bit in a flashback, so not all was lost). But the fact we got to see what she accomplished was something to behold. I love a good badass woman character and Caitlin/Kate/her was it. To see her seek revenge and do it in a killer Jason Bourne style had me seeing the action scenes play out in my head. It was a thrilling, heart pounding ride as she kicked some Dixie Mafia butt.
Then she crosses paths with a man named Hunter. Are they hunting the same thing? Are they after each other? What side are they fighting on? When Kate and Hunter finally meet, our book is nearly half over. How can a romance start and seem realistic in that short of time?
“There’s a saying that evil prevails when good people do nothing.”
All I will say is that RC Boldt created a strong and kickass female lead. I wanted to be her. I wanted to fight alongside her. I wanted to be on her side as she was balancing her good with her vengeance side. And Hunter and Kujo (that’s Hunter’s dog)? They were like the cherry on top. You didn’t see them coming, but they were the missing pieces to the story that fit together so well. The predictability that I saw within the first pages was blown away with a story that was full of action, twists and revenge with a side of romance that neither character was looking for.
Overall, this story was a fun and thrilling read. It started quite sad and tragically, but it was still dang entertaining to watch a woman seek revenge in the name of her daughter. There were a few smaller problems I had throughout the book, but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the story. I would definitely read more in this world and more of RC Boldt. She develops her characters well and can write a story that will pull you in from the beginning.
Wow! If you like a story with a bada** woman who wreaks vengeance and destruction on those that destroyed her world, you will love this story. If you love a strong woman who finds a way to survive despite the destruction she has lived through, you will love Caitlyn, she’s strong, dangerous, and has a soft spot for those that need a helping hand.
“Always be aware of your surroundings.”
She was raised in the gun and pawn shop, she knows how to shoot, load ammo, shoot a bow and arrow, and she knows she was loved all of her life. Now she has a family of her own and a little girl, Willow, that has just received her first bow. Her marriage is struggling, but her life is good otherwise. That is until danger came knocking on their door and a threat was made. She’s the only survivor of a deadly attack on the shop that she and her father run along with her husband. Caitlyn Ashford is helpless to do anything to save her family. When she tries to get justice through the legal system for the hit on her family, she finds herself in a situation that she never saw coming and now she’s on the run from the law as well as dealing with her loss.
He’s a hired gunman, a man who lives and works alone. He’s been hired by the Dixie Mafia to find the culprit responsible for the death of so many members of the Dixie Mafia. He’s known as The Hunter and he always gets his target. However, this time his target will be more of a challenge than most others have been in the past. He’ll find himself in a situation where he has to make a choice and figure out which way is the right way to go. He’s deadly, dangerous, dark, and scarred.
I absolutely loved this book. I did cry at some stages, but this book was full of suspense, action, dangerous characters, and an ultimate betraying twist. I was on the edge of my seat reading it and hated to put it down for any reason. It pulled me in from the first page and gripped my attention until the end. There were very few lulls in this story. It’s an easy read and the pages turned quickly, but it was so detailed and full of action that it was difficult to see the end of the story. I give this book a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who are looking for something to thoroughly entertain you. It’s a bit heavy, but so worth reading. The characters are deep and so well written that they steal your heart.
I love the quote in the beginning of the book: “You never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only choice you have.” – Bob Marley
Initially I was drawn to this book by the beautiful cover, it was intriguing and alongside the title I knew I wanted to read it. So when I was offered a copy in exchange for an honest review, I was thrilled. I have previously read R C Boldt’s books, but this one felt different and everything about this book was unique and action-packed.
The book is about Caitlin Ashford, a young woman who has lost everything. After watching her father, husband and daughter get murdered, she is determined to see justice served. However, in the beginning she is weak, not fully aware of the bigger picture playing out around her, and when attempting to get the murderers tried, realises that she is the one who is getting most of the questioning. But with time comes knowledge, strength, power and an incredible determination for revenge, and Caitlin certainly comes back fighting.
Hunter is a dark horse, he is hired to kill and track, and when he is employed to get to the bottom of the many mafia murders, he has no idea what he might find, or who may be responsible.
This book is set over multiple timeframes and from dual perspectives. It was fast-paced, full of lots of plot twists, and I loved how it saw a broken woman turn into a vision of strength. Her character makes you question morality and you root for her cause.
An enjoyable read for all those who love not only romance but thriller/ mafia style books. Really enjoyed mixing up my reading list with this gem. Refreshing and different, and I couldn’t wait to get to the end to see how it ended.
5 KATNISS STARS!! Caitlin is fearless….I absolutely loved her!! She will touch all your heart with so many feels, you can’t turn the pages quick enough. This story could be a movie….I actually could see the scenes playing out in my head, as I read this book. You definitely need this book in your life.
HOLY Badass Heroine !!!!!! Caitlyn is on a mission. She is a woman that lost her everything 7 years ago it was heartbreaking, tragic and ripped my heart out. When Caitlyn’s chance at justice was also removed from her grasp she has decided to take the law in her own hands. She is back from hiding and it has been 7 years and she has more than prepared herself for battle . When you have lost everything if you right the wrong by your own hands what do you have to lose !
I absolutely love RC’s work and this one was so different from her wheelhouse and I loved it ! This is a suspense intertwined with romance and it is quite a emotional ride !

When Caitlin loses everything right in front of her eyes, she vows revenge. She trains and transforms herself into a badass, then wreaks havoc on the Dixie Mafia – the organization that took her entire family from her. And it feels good. But when she meets Hunter, a man who makes her feel something other than anger and the need for vengeance, she is hesitant at opening herself up to the possibility of pain if she loses him.
Holy shit but this story is INTENSE!!!! It feels like a written version of the movie Peppermint, but with an added emotional component that rounds it out and makes it a developed story, a journey of revenge, redemption, and love, rather than simply an action piece like Peppermint.
Caitlin and Hunter as a couple don’t make sense on paper, but they actually fit each other in complete ways, especially obvious at the end when things have calmed down a little. I wanted to hug them both throughout their story, and was cheering them on, especially Caitlin as she did what she set out to do. She is truly a fierce warrior badass, a woman who found her soulmate, as unlikely as they may have seemed together.
This is a kick ass book. A story about losing it all and seeking revenge on those who stole it. Caitlin is such a bad ass and I loved that she is such an amazingly strong character. Her story had me feeling her pain and wanting the revenge as much as she did. Her story is an addicting one, that kept me on the edge of my seat. When she meets Hunter her story heats up. These two set those pages on fire with their chemistry and desire for one another. Both feeling like monsters that if the other finds out will run for the hills, but they have no idea how much alike they really are. Their story was not only sexy, hot, and down right dirty, but a story that will leave you a happy reader in the end. I loved this whole story from beginning to end and can’t recommend you read this one enough. Not only is the cover an awesome cover, but the story inside will leave you loving the story as much as the cover.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Hell Hath No Fury by RC Boldt is an intriguing romantic suspense that will suck you in from the first page with an intricate and adrenaline filled story line. The heroine is one of the strongest I have ever read and there is no conventional hero in this story per se. I would say the hero of the story is the explosive storyline and the undiluted emotions.
Hell Hath No Fury is very different from what I usually get from RC Boldt and that is not a bad thing at all. She always mixes up things and this story caught me unguarded. Caitlin Ashford had a happy life once upon a time. Caring father. Doting husband. Adorable daughter. But the Dixie Mafia has destroyed everything in a single night. She survived and her heart is now full of rage and need for vengeance. She is determined to hunt every single person who was somehow responsible for her ruin. But she is also being hunted. By a man known as The Hunter who has been appointed to find the vigilante killing the mafia members with arrows and bullets.
Caitlin or Kate is an amazing character. I am awed by her kickassness. She gathered her broken pieces and came back stronger. She is lethal and smart. She is ruthless to her enemies but she helps every person who is suffering somehow. She lives a life of danger and she is always on the run. The way she planned the demise of the corrupt and vile criminals was just fantastic. I felt like I am in an action movie. And that is my only issue with this book. I felt the romance was missing largely from the story. It doesn’t make sense how she let her guard down suddenly to a stranger in a bar while always being on the edge. I felt the connection didn’t form as I would have liked. The Hunter has his own past and motivations behind his contract killer life. And that’s up to you to find out. Falling for enemy is a tough decision and situation. And the couple in the story had to go through all the heartbreaking stages. For me, this story was a thriller with romance as a small part. And if I think like that, it’s a great thriller.
Hell Hath Bo Fury by RC Boldt had a fast paced story line with complex and intense plot. The adrenaline rush was amazing. You won’t be able to stop once you start as you would want to know all the secrets.
Received ARC for honest review
This is my first book by R.C. Boldt and most definitely won’t be my last. Hell Hath No Fury is a beautifully written, heart-wrenching, all-consuming, dark romantic suspense story that will have you feeling everything. This book has it all! Suspense, a great storyline that keeps you turning the pages, tragedy, loss, heartache, revenge, betrayal, secrets, lies, unexpected twists and turns, explosive chemistry, corruption, danger, and so many emotions… fear, sadness, anger, oh, and some hot sex.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
This is one book by the author that is not her normal genre in that it is a darker romantic suspense. The author really stepped out of her comfort zone with this one and it was a can’t put down need to know more. A story of revenge and boy did she bring it, but there were also softer moments with the lead female character, Caitlin. RC takes you on a roller coaster ride though this book between the tragedy, heartbreak, surprises, betrayal, suspense and tenderness. I hope that the author continues to write more books like this because this was one that kept you wanting to read and not end.
When I first heard about this book, I was a bit hesitant to pick it up. I’m so glad I did though. It grabbed me at the beginning and did not let go. So hard to put down.
My heart just broke for Caitlin, loosing everything and the events immediately following. It’s so hard to write a review for this book, not because of anything bad, just I really don’t want to give anything away. What she goes through is absolutely unreal. But she is still a woman you will like, add in Hunter, and that will be a whole other twist.
RC Boldt has been an author I’ve always enjoyed. This book strays from what she normally writes, but is it still a fantastic book.
Do you know what really marks an author as a great author? Their ability to write outside of the box and/or out of their norm. Said author typically writes rom-com and contemporary romance books. So this book is most certainly out of her norm. I have been waiting for this one. I wanted to see what she would do with a darker book. Let me tell you, she hit it out of the park!
I have sat here just staring at my screen for a long time, trying to come up with the perfect words for this book. Nothing I can think of fully describe my thoughts and feelings about this work of art.
This book is packed with heartbreak, revenge, betrayal, ruthlessness, and some extremely steamy scenes. It flows so well, you won’t be able to put it down.
Then you have those twists!! The author does a great job at dropping hints, yet keeping them from you at the same time. There was a point where I figured out one kind of early on. Then later, not too long before the reveal, I JUST KNEW. And when that confirmation came…. My mind was still blown.
I can’t sing enough praises for this book. The author hit this one out of the park! I hope she drops us more books like this from time to time. I certainly will not complain!
Wow, that was an action filled book from the very first page. R.C. had me sitting on the edge of my seat flipping paged, needing more, wanting answers, cheering Caitlin on in her journey. A well planned plot with many forks in the road keep the intrigue and adrenaline pumping at full force.
Caitlin lost everything in one quick blink of an eye. Thus beginning her fight for justice. She quickly learns that she isn’t going to find it in the judicial system. Leaving is her only hope as she isn’t safe either. When she returns, she lurks in the shadows, on her revenge filled mission. She is so strong physically and mentally. The eye is always on the prize.
Hunter is supposed to be trying to find this mysterious killer who is taking out the members of the Dixie Mafia. He has his own reasons and determined focus on finding and tracking this individual.
With each fork in the story we learn so much more. Is it possible for these two people to find their revenge and move forward to a new life and leave all their wrong doings behind?
This book face paced and full of action, be sure to hang on for the ride.

From chapter one this revenge story grabbed my attention. RC Boldt has written a bad*** heroine who has one goal to punish those who took her world away. After an unimaginable loss and a legal sytem working against her Caitlin could have crumbled and let them win however she comes back with vengenceon her mind. The romance is unconventional and not a huge part of the story but it does another element. I would have liked some more about her time away and how she got her fighting skills. Prepare to have your mind blown and your emotions messed with.
Hell Hath No Fury is a totally different wheelhouse than I’m used to from RC Boldt and this story captivated me right from the start. I was taken on a journey of immense heartbreak, desperation and longing that empowered a woman to get revenge against the people that turned her world upside down. But this tale was so much more than that because it reminded me how resilient human beings can be and how much we can overcome when we choose to fight our way out of the darkness and into the light.
RC wove a compelling story of living through hell and falling in love because of a chance encounter where they embraced their true selves and let nothing stand in their way.
Tracey, Life Reads With Friends Book Blog
This is my first book from RC Boldt and I have no doubt I will read more from her in the future. Let me start by saying the cover for Hell Hath no Fury is beyond stunning and is the main reason I picked this book up to read. The novel is a romantic suspense story with vengeance at it’s core.
Caitlin is the heroine of the story, a young woman with a husband and a 5 year old daughter she adores. Until one fateful night at her fathers store everything she loves is taken from her by the Dixie Mafia. Things take an unexpected turn and Caitlin is forced to run, to leave behind the woman she was. Her grief turns her into the woman she is now. 7 years on Caitlin is back, after a journey of training and self discipline, she is hunting down all the people that took her family from her, all in the name of redemption and retribution.
What she doesn’t count on is the contract killer hired to figure out who the vigilante is killing off members of the Dixie Mafia crew. Personally I loved that the heroine is such a strong bad ass woman, she has nothing to lose and has made it her life’s mission to achieve what she see’s as justice in her eyes. RC Boldt makes no apologies for her heroine, she embraces the drive beyond her purpose and runs with it. Caitlin embodies her darkness and doesn’t struggle with the decisions she makes and that’s refreshing to see in a heroine.
I can’t say much about the plot, as I don’t want to spoil anything. The Hero is everything he needs to be to stand at Caitlin’s side, I loved the clever interwoven plot elements that linked things together. Then the ending! I did not see the plot twists coming at all! My heart was in my throat and the hits just kept on coming! The chapters that gave us a look into the future rounded it all off for me perfectly, I was just swept up on this journey with Caitlin. Going into Hell Hath No Fury with no clue what I was going to get made this book a top read for me so far this year!
Wow, this book was intense, it was dark, and the twists and turns will have you clinging to whatever you have close!!!
Two absolutely broken, but two people who are trained and ready for death are drawn to each other, one is contracted to the Dixie Mafia the other is taking them down… one scumbag at a time!
This author takes you into a world where one woman scorned will take your whole world apart. A fantastic story, one I did not see coming. I was so engrossed in this story that when it ended, I was like WTF just happened.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
5 stars for this just aren’t enough!

I have to say that this isn’t RC’s normal way of writing and I liked it. It had everything you want in a book!! It had suspense and intrigue and a great storyline. I was reading 3 books at one time and all of them paled in comparison to this one. I could imagine this being real, the others not so much. I’m definitely recommending this to everyone.
