Hell Hath Frozen Over, by Annabelle Anders. Be prepared to be swept away in a snow blizzard as you read this oh so sweet, mature love story. Annabelle’s writing, touches the reader in the right place and that is the heart. This book brings two characters, Thomas and Loretta together, at a time where they are going through some hard changes in their life. Thomas’s daughter is recently married and a new mother.
He decides that he no longer wants to be a bother to her, so he adventurers out to look for housing that’s close to his daughter, but maintain some distance. Loretta, walks through her life trying to keep her head up with a smile on her face. Behind that facade, Loretta suffers from many tragic things that has happened to her and her family over the past year. Thomas watches Loretta from a distance. Then one day at the pre- Christmastide family gathering, he whisk Loretta away to small cottage during a winter storm.
There these two find passion that has been locked away for so long. Thomas’s consumes Loretta with his seductive fiery kisses. His dominant male body, brings out all the sexual desire that Loretta has never experienced and has been longing for. Oh yes my fellow readers, I recommend this book. Until next time…read on! I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
I loved this short but really fun and entertaining book – I was so happy to see a couple that is 40+ get a HEA that they both deserved.
Loretta, Duchess of Prescott, is now a widow and not only has her husband died but both of her sons and her brother-in-law within a short time. Her darkness is keeping her from living and it has been a year but she feels guilt and sadness. Thomas Findlay, a very wealthy industrialist, widower, handsome & father of Loretta’s daughter-in-law’s friend, has taken it upon himself to bring her out of her doldrums.
This was a very touching, emotional, Holiday Romance with a HEA and I highly recommend this lovely story.
Hell Hath Frozen Over is a fantastic historical romance by Annabelle Anders. Ms. Anders has provided readers with a well-written book populated with a stellar cast of characters. Thomas is a rich industrialist. Loretta is the widowed Duchess of Prescott. Their story has plenty of drama, humor and spice. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Hell Hath Frozen Over is book 4.5 of the Devilish Debutantes Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love it when the “old folks” get their happy ending, even if the old folks are younger than I am! Loretta, the dowager Duchess of Preston, has gone through a lot of tragedy in the past few years. Her husband and two sons are all gone now, and although she’s a fairly young widow, she thinks her life is over and she will just fade into the background. While the new heir, her nephew, and his wife and adorable baby daughter try to include her in their family activities, Loretta feels like an intruder. However, Thomas Findlay, the father of one of her niece-in-law’s friends, has certainly noticed her. A widower himself who has traveled the world amassing a tremendous fortune in trade, Thomas would like to show Loretta that there is still a lot of life to be lived and love to be had. Perhaps a little Christmas snowstorm and a well-timed gift can do the trick.
Many of the other characters from the Devilish Debutantes series are present for the holiday festivities, and there are adorable babies, so this is a lovely Christmas novella that wraps up a few loose ends and spreads some Christmas cheer.
I read this as part of the Yuletide Happily Ever Afters anthology.
The Duchess of Prescott, now a widow, fears she’s experienced all life has to offer. Thomas Findlay, a wealthy industrialist, knows she has not. She’s a duchess & he’s a butcher’s son but their attraction is apparent. Whilst this is a standalone novella it also wraps up the Devilish Debutantes series perfectly & like the rest of the series is so very good. I first read this in the Yuletide Happily Ever Afters anthology
The Duchess of Prescott, now a widow, fears she’s experienced all life has to offer. Thomas Findlay, a wealthy industrialist, knows she has not. Can he convince her she has love and passion in her future? And if he does, cans she convince herself to embrace it? I loved these two characters and his perseverance! I read everything by Annabelle Anders and am always anxious for her next book!
Loved this novella which was part of Yuletide Happily Ever After set.
