When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her to the Louvre…to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria…to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own–scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving “the life” for a normal … normal life proves harder than she’d expected. Soon, Kat’s friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring her back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has good reason: a powerful mobster’s art collection has been stolen, and he wants it returned. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat’s father isn’t just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help. For Kat there is only one solution: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it’s a spectacularly impossible job? She’s got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully just enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family’s (very crooked) history–and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way.

Such a fun story. I’m really excited to pick up book two.
One of the YA books I most wish I’d written!
Fun Middle grade /YA mystery series begins with this one. Enjoying it right now
Very fun, quick book to read. It’s clean, with a bit of romance, a bit of suspense, a bit of mystery. It was slightly unbelievable that the protagonist and her little band were only 15- or 16-year-old teenagers. But I didn’t let that get it the way of enjoying the book.
OMG. What’s not to love about this book? There’s a fab female lead, a cast of kooky characters and an awesome heist story. It’s Oceans Eleven with teens!
The only downside is that there’s only 3 books in the series 🙁 (So far, there were rumours of a 4th book, but my fingers have been crossed for that one to come out for years.)
I’ve been sitting in ISS for two days and missed my stop in this book like 5 times because its so good.
Oh man I think I might have another favorite author. I read the spy series and was a little worried this would disappoint me but no way she does it again! I love her books they are fast, funny and brilliant! Girls as young as 12 could read this book. Very clean.
I loved the Heist Society books. Kat, Hale, and their crew are lovable and interesting. I think I know what’s going on, but Ally Carter always manages to surprise me. She’s crafty, that one.
This is probably my favorite book by Ally Carter. I own a hard copy, ebook, and audiobook. The series overall is amazing, I’ve read them all. But this is the starting point of the series the book that took me on an adventure through the streets of Europe, all in the hopes of clearing her father’s name and achieving that boring normal life status. …
This book is short, fun, and completely unique. I really loved this book when I was younger and what I liked most was how unique Kat’s perspective is. Kat is a teenage girl who comes from a family of thieves. I think with so much magic and heisting in movies, etc. these days, it’s nice to see a story so relatable–she’s a teenage girl who’s smart …
