I admit, that when I first saw the title of this, I thought it was going to be a sports romance. But it is not! It’s a wonderfully written story of coming of age, not only for the new adults, but for the parents too! Ashton is almost 21 and the apple of her father’s eye. Under his thumb and not wanting to disappoint him, she is struggling to be her own person. When she meets Crew, her cousin’s roommate, the instant attraction is palpable. Crew has come to Athens to find himself. He is taking a break from school, dealing with the death of his grandparents and just seeking answers for himself. Together these two sizzle. But is there chemistry enough to keep them together? Borel has delved into this story with so many aspects of real life. Ash’s father is key in the story. While a secondary role, his beliefs and hold on her is evident throughout. I love the interaction of her parents, and how life evolves. Crew is very complex. He may appear as the experienced of the two, his life is confused and upset. Ash is just trying to make her way. Borel’s writing is passionate, and real, and I was completely invested in these characters. This is the kind of book I really love!
Caitlin Allgood Knight is the narrator and it’s the first time I have heard her. She does a wonderful job, connecting with the characters, and finds the perfect balance for them. I loved her ability to go from character to character and her pace was spot on. I will be looking for more of her.

is a story of a father reluctantly comes to terms that his little girl is growing up. AshThiston always felt pressured to be the perfect daughter. now in college, she wants to spread her wings.Camden had high expectations for her future. and none included a mechanic named Crew!
Crew came to Athens after his grandparents died. He was lost and was trying to find his purpose in life. He thought if they found happiness here, it may be for him. He was working at the garage his grandfather founded. His uncle was managing the garage, and they never got along.
Little did Ashton and Crew know that their lives would change when they first met! Was it love at first sight or lust at first sight? Will her father ever accept Crew ?
Stacey Borel wrote a poignant story if a young woman finally finding her voice, a young man finding himself, and a father learning to let go.
Caitlyn Allgood Knight narration was excellent, giving the characters their own voice. I was gifted this audio book and offered my honest opinion.
Oh My GOSH! I LOVED this book! The laughter that eeked out of me while listening to this….made people look at me funny. These characters were so so good! First off I love all of their different names. Secondly the relationship between Foster and Ashton was so cool. Speaking of Foster. I loved his comment about how women talk to each other Vs Men talking to each other. Hahaha. The narrartor did a good job on Foster’s high pitched woman voice.
Enter Crew..mechanic, Muscled, tattooed, new roomie of Foster. he is H-O-T from the first intro and he only gets hotter. The thing is he is not all what he seems. Ashton takes a fancy to him for his looks and realizes he is more than just that. The chemistry between them is white hot.
Even Ashtons parents (Camden and Keegan)were wonderful additions to this story. The father/daughter relationship is very well done. I could really feel his love/adoration of his daughter. Plus the way her Dad watches Crew when he is around Ashton is hilarious. We do get to see extended family of Ashton and Foster as well. They add another element of fun to the story. Those dinners! Ha!
I listened to this on audio and Caitlin Allgood Knight did a superb job! She made each of these characters come alive! This is my first book by Stacy Borel and I am eagerly looking for more. I see this is a first in a series. Hopefully more will be on audio soon.

This is my first book by Stacy Borel and it will not be my last. I enjoyed her writing style, she created interesting story that grabbed my attention right from the start and held it to the end. Her characters are complex and well developed, I adored both leads, Ashton and Crew. Ashton comes from a loving, tight knit family, she is well rounded, maybe a bit naive and definitely overprotected by her father and cousin. Crew is her cousins new roommate, with is tattoos and quiet brooding demeanor he comes off as a “bad” boy, but looks can be deceiving. I loved the chemistry between them and how their story played out. Crew’s backstory is very touching, I like how it turns out for him, also liked how Ashton’s father backed him with his Uncle. There is plenty of drama, some angst and fun moments, as well as heartfelt and moving ones in this well plotted story. The ending is more of a happy for now ending, so I hope there is more is to come from these great characters. Thank you Stacy Borel for this wonderful story and the emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to checking out more of your work.
I listened to the Audible edition, Caitlin Allgood Knight is a terrific narrator, she brings these characters and their story to life. She did a great job projecting the emotions of the characters into her performance. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
I liked the story Ashton and Crew, but kind of hoping there is a sequel, the ending was a bit short and there is so much more I need to know about Crew family past and more I wish to happen. I got the audiobook and Caitlin Allgood Knight did a good job, I suggest a bit more of a male voice change as I got a bit lost on who was talking after a pause but overall I liked it, the performance of the emotions are hinted and where there where it counted the most.
Stacy Borel, a new author to me, and one I look forward to reading more of. A sweet, easy, and drama free love story following 21 year old good girl Ashton Brookes as she falls for her cousin’s new roommate, bad boy, Crew Evanston, college dropout and trainee motor mechanic. But, all is not as it seems, Crew is not quite the bad boy his image suggests, and underneath his leather jacket and tattoos, there’s a sensitive boy with a heart of gold, he’s just got to convince Ashton’s dad that there’s more to him than the bad boy he portrays. Wonderful writing, a sweet, addictive story, and a cast of truly wonderful characters. Both Ashton, and Crew are narrated perfectly by Caitlin Allgood Knight, a new to me narrator, who truly brought the characters to life. Thoroughly enjoyable.
