Not exactly what I was expecting after listening to so many of the lighter audios on the Read Me Romance podcast. This one has a darker undertone as the heroine’s father uses her to pay off a debt. The hero was a bit dark and a real dirty talker. This ended up being pretty typical of this type of story – hero insta everything, heroine a virgin who is instantly every dirty thing he wants. Not a lot here except for the sexual dialogue and what follows.

June Li was sold by her father to Asher Cook (the foreman from Survival of the Richest) to pay a debt. Asher means to use up every dollar that is owed to him. By using June Li.
Skye Warren sure knows how to write a hot & sexy story. I said this about another book that I read by a different author that this is what my husband calls a stroke story. It really is too short to develop a strong plot. But, there is a definite place for this type of book. There is an HEA. 3.5 stars.
This was a fantastic dirty quickie – an awesome stand-alone novella. Asher and June-Li are an explosive match. Dubious consent turns into happy ownership and I would have loved more of these two. Really enjoyed this one.
June Li is a spoiled girl, and she winds up being given to Asher. Asher comes across as a big bad wolf, but I don’t think he truly is.
Heavy Equipment by Skye Warren is a short story of a young lady who has been sheltered by her father. Getting dressed for a gala she is interrupted by a disturbance downstairs. When she goes down to find out what’s going on she learns her father has sold her to clear his debt. She is shocked but true to her culture she is a dutiful daughter and accept her plight. The guy is rough and she can’t see how he has any money. He is there to collect on his debt. What she doesn’t know is he has had his eye on her for awhile. The story left me wanting more. I liked the story. I liked the characters. Simple and cute. 3.5 stars.
This is a hot and steamy little number. As a quick read you still get everything you need in this one. You get a hot alpha in Asher. He may be rough around the edges but he knows what he wants. June seems like little miss innocent but looks can be deceiving. She has this little naughty side just waiting to come out. With Asher and June’s relationship, you can just feel the sheets begin to burn. Even with the not so ideal arrangement June and Asher just bring the heat. Get ready to fan yourself over this one.
This was super hot!! it had everything that we love in Sky Warrens books..
Asher and June are explosive he knows what he wants and what he wants is her no matter the cost.. he knew they will be great together and he didn’t hesitate to get her.. even if she didn’t agree so much of in the way this happened.. at the end he will get what he wants. and what he wants is her.

I really enjoyed listening to this super short, SUPER hot story on Read Me Romance Podcast during my commute this week! Awesome narration. I will definitely be checking out more of this author’s books.

He fulfills all her dirty, forbidden dreams.
Skye Warren always writes heroes that are anti-heroes. They seem alpha men without a conscience, without scruples or compassion. Hard as nails, demanding, possessive and passionate. Yet, when you least expect it, a tender moment occurs and he turns human.
There’s not a lot of plot and not a lot of character development. What we have is the visualization of the deepest, darkest fantasies of a woman who appears before society as prim and proper and ladylike. Asher delivers on her fantasies and we are there to read about it.

Sweet Lord! I don’t know if Skye Warren’s is planning my death because her new book is électrique and pure dynamite. It is a hot combination of submission and steamy dominance; it is sizzling chemistry that blew my mind far away. It was so consuming that I literally forgot about the world while reading it. For an instant, I wished I were June because who haven’t fantasized with a strong and a powerful construction man? Yes ladies, hold your horses and prepare yourself for the panty-melting and swoon-worthy male character: Asher Cook!
Heavy Equipment is a book like no other. The plot is original and well developed. The only complain I have is that I wished it was longer because I am sure June and Asher have more to share with us. However Skye Warren managed to explode all the elements to deliver a page-turner novella. The characters are complex and the attraction between them is extremely dangerous and mind-blowing. This book has all the “sold to the billionaire” vibes, plus elegant and dark touches that only the queen of dark romance could create. It has all the elements to make readers go crazy. Dark, sexy, dominant billionaire: check. Submissive, good-girl heroine: check. Haunting storyline: check.
Unpredictable, sexy, naughty and wonderful, it is a bumpy ride full of surprises. A debt, a bargain and a claiming; all packed to create such a masterpiece!
This may be a novella and spin off of the trust fund but OMG did it pack a punch in a short story! A debt, bargain and yes traded for that debt ! June has always been the loyal obedient daughter until she is used as trade for her father’s debt . This was sexy, naughty and oh so good! Astor and June will have you begging for more , you will want it not to end to see where how it all played out in the long run!!!

We first meet Asher in The Trust Fund duet. Asher and June was hot,sexy and has the right amount of darkness.When I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Skye Warren is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work.You should definitely read this book.Can’t wait for the next book.

June is young, a good girl in her twenties, and devoted to supporting her father. Surprise! He has been deceiving her. Their wealth is not what it used to be. As June finds out of this deceit, she also finds she is now under the “ownership” of her father’s foreman.
Asher appears to be a calloused, blue collar worker, who crudely expects her to acquiesce to his demands. What June finds is a mystery and a lot of incongruencies. Who is this man?
I am looking forward to reading a lot more about Asher and June!

This was a fast quick sexy hot read of Asher finally coming to claim whats his as a debt is being paid off and taking ownership of June in every single way possible. These two are explosive as Asher shows her some darkness with no way out. I loved it.
Asher Cook is a sexy construction owner with a dominant, dirty mind. June Li is a beautiful woman who grew up in a privileged, “princess like” lifestyle. Reality hits quickly when a debt from June’s father is settled by Asher. The payment for the debt is June. This is the most intensely sexual, insatiable novella I have ever read. I absolutely loved it!!!
Heavy Equipment is just what the doctor ordered for a tantalizing, steamy read. It’s quick and dirty but oh so satisfying. Every word drips of Skye Warren and is so in keeping with The Trust Fund duet. I love Skye’s writing and how she takes the taboo and makes us crave it.
Asher and June Li have been made for each other and they hold nothing back. A heady novella that will bring out the temptress in you. Can’t wait to listen for FREE on Read Me Romance. My virgin ears will be well broken in.
Holy hell for this being a short read this was very steamy and hot! I’d love to see this become a full novel!
Asher has had his sites set on June for years and when her father is indebted to him he takes June as payment. June hates him and her father and is hurt that he would trade her off like that. But things roally heat up between the two and they both realize that this could be more than just a business agreement.

Great steamy short read. June is Asher’s payment from her father. She knows nothing of what’s happening, but doesn’t have a choice. Being the well trained “good” daughter she is, June goes with him knowing she has no way out unless she wants to disgrace her family. Skye shares their steamy affair and ends it with a HEA.
