Hutchins is a master of tension.
Irritating book. Emily isn’t at all realistic. How can she be a paralegal and be so stupid? And, what is this genre of books where 30 something women are still being controlled by their mothers? I don’t find this at all funny, just maddening.
Emily’s husband leaves her for a transvestite and her mother insists she go back to him?
Won’t be …
A good read that starts off well and has a good finish. The book drug thru the middle and there were times where the protagonist was TSTL. Overall, a good read.
I really couldn’t leave this book alone. Great characters, some expected and many unexpected twists. Great read.
Enjoyed the characters and the slow way their back stories unwind.
Wonderful series. A good read.
Heaven To Betsy was the first book by Pamela Fagan Hutchins that I had read, and after reading it I was hooked! I instantly fell in love with the easy, imaginative and beautifully descriptive style of writing that Pamela displays in all her books.
This story has twists and turns aplenty, sometimes witty, sometimes sad with an interesting, …
If you’ve read any of Ms. Fagan Hutchins’ Michele Lopez-Hansen and/or Maggie Killian stories, part of the What Doesn’t Kill You series, you’ll appreciate the cleverly inserted connections to those books ie: Kona Marathon, rodeos, etc. This new book in the series is filled with vivid, descriptive writing and touches of humor made this reader …
Emily has filed for divorce because her husband has been cheating on her with a man. She is looking for a job and accepts a para legal position. Jack is the attorney of the firm. They take on a case of a missing 6 year old. They uncover criminal activity they did not expect. The book keeps your interest and wanting more.
Emily is at a miserable crossroads in her life. Her marriage has fallen apart causing her to move back in with her mother. Jack is enigmatic with many secrets. The story is filled with the author’s brand of dry wit and humor. It will leave you laughing out loud at the antics of the characters as they deal with their daily dramas. You will also be …
Emily is a paralegal who starts a job with Jack. Right away she finds murder and is thrown into a world of mystery. You warm up to Emily right away and understand the trials she is going through. Her instincts are right on and all the characters she meets are intriguing. This is truly a page turner and you won’t figure out the ending. You’ll want …
I loved this book. I love Emily and her boss, Jack. This is a great story about a paralegal who had arranged a romantic dinner with her husband to tell him that they were expecting. Unfortunately her husband’s transvestite boyfriend crashed the dinner. She goes home to live with her mother, which is another unfortunate situation. And she …
This is a great read. Very entertaining? Great characters. Really good story.
Emily’s life has just turned upside down, so totally that she has gone back to her mother’s house in Amarillo. Her church-going, interfering, Mother who has some very strict religious ideas on life and marriage, is very concerned about her public imagine. Emily’s attempts at rumor control and privacy fail and things get even more chaotic from …

Ready for more adventure in the Katie world? This time it’s not Katie herself getting into trouble and on an adventure. It’s her best friend Emily back in the USA. I was so excited when I saw this was an Emily book. I loved her as a supporting character in Katie’s life. I was hoping she’d get her own book. It is no wonder …
I first met Emily in Saving Grace (Katie & Annalise). She was the stable half of Katie’s work life. I liked her from the get go and although she was married I secretly wished she would end up with Colin. When he announces he is engaged, in Finding Harmony I knew my hope would never happen. Color me surprised when Heaven to Betsy starts with …

I really enjoyed this book and think it is a great start to a new series. Quite a few characters from the previous books put in an appearance which was fun or added to the drama. I like Emily as a main character and can’t wait to see what the author has in store for her in the next book.
Emily broken but not …
3+. Well written story. Dramatic with a touch of romance. Emily becomes almost obsessed with searching for a little girl abducted by possible child molesters. Lots of sadness and worry in this book although there is always hope for a happy ending. I loved the character, Jack!
It was a so-so read. Not that exciting.
A lot of action an unpredictable plot and a good dose of romance, what’s not to like? It is one of those that the romance never totally happens, and you keep thinking, even hoping that the characters will finally realize their love for one another.
