Come heck or high water, Gracie Snow is determined to drag the legendary ex-jock Bobby Tom Denton back home to Heaven, Texas, to begin shooting his first motion picture. Despite his dazzling good looks and killer charm, Bobby Tom has reservations about being a movie star — and no plans to cooperate with a prim and bossy Ohio wallflower whom he can’t get off his mind or out of his life. Instead, … Instead, the hell-raising playboy decides to make her over from plain Jane to Texas wildcat.
But nothing’s more dangerous than a wildcat with an angel’s heart in a town too small for a bad boy to hide. And all hell breaks loose when two unforgettable people discover love, laughter, passion — and a match that can only be made in Heaven.

An oldie but a goodie…Susan Elizabeth Phillips is a perennial favorite, and though I love all her work, her Chicago Stars series is one of my faves, filled with keepers that reside on my keeper shelves and are always good for a re-read.
One of my favorite books from one of my all-time favorite romance writers, Heaven, Texas is just plain sexy fun from beginning to end!
I just re-read Heaven, Texas for like the fifth time. I love this book, and all of the books in the Chicago Stars series. The beginning of this book will make you squirm with embarrassment for Gracie Snow and laugh your head off at the same time.
There’s a reason Susan Elizabeth Phillips is the queen of romantic comedies. Everything about this …
Has one of the best hero groveling scenes in a romance.
I have read this book several times and I love it every time. It’s part of a great series but this book you can read by it’s self. If you want a sweet happily ever after this is your book and your author.
Sassy and funny. I couldn’t put it down!
Perfection! I am officially hooked on The Chicago Stars series. The writing is quick and clever, and highly entertaining. It’s not hard to imagine that these two lovers might actually exist. Football fever in a small Texas town? Check. Super sexy former wide receiver? Check. Flawed; Strong; Funny characters that you can’t help but fall in love …
This was a fun read with several laugh-out-loud moments.
I reread this after a number of years and was delighted to discover that it’s still one of my all-time favorites! Love the story of Gracie and Bobby Tom. Heartwarming, funny, and a timeless delight.
I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips books. This one happens to be one of my favorites. This is how she gets you! Keep reading friends. She always writes about people you would love to know.
I read this book years ago, at a time smiles were hard to find in my family. I laughed so much my husband kept asking what was funny! Found my dog-eared copy on a hidden shelf while we were working on down sizing. Perfect timing just when I needed a laugh!
I love a good comeuppance story. Nice groveling at the end.
Susan Elizabeth Phillips is such a clever writer. Great characters and interesting story every time!!
I don’t know how SEP does it, but somehow she weaves a story that is endearing, funny, relatable, sexy, and complicated all at once. The scene at the end where BT is in handcuffs chasing after GS had me torn up. Loved it…and the narration by Anna Fields is superb.
Addendum to my original review: I’ve just finished “NO BABY BUT MINE (Chicago …
hysterical loved it
I’ve read everything written by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and I’ve never been disappointed. She is a great storyteller!
I’m prepping for the Super Bowl with this football series. This is book two in the Chicago Stars series by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and it’s every bit as fun as the first one. Heaven Texas pits two very stubborn, headstrong individuals against one another and sometimes it can get pretty heated. In the end, they figure it out but it sure is fun …
love all this author’s books
4 stars for me, with this book I will say I kinda rush through this, not because I was bored but my loan was expiring. I think that where it went downhill I still love this book but I still think this boo is worth a read.
